J12: Lagos is not the only state with a High population growth rate. I doubt if the growth rate in Lagos is higher than that of Rivers state.

All properties belonging to the FG are repaired and taken care of by the FG not the LASG.
I think you've not disproved my initial submission..

Saying Lag is already developed and as such needs no investment in infrastructure is wrong and misleading.

Rubbish!!

This is what happens when you treat terrorists and their sponsors with Kid-gloves the way the the PDP-led Federal government headed by Goodluck Agbaya Jonathan has been doing....

Anyway, RIP to the Dead Soldiers, it's a shame you were killed because of the ineptitude of a few greedy power-hungry eediots..

J12: Lagos state on the other hand is and has always been the most developed state in Nigeria. With a population of about 9-10 million people, the state government receives about 100 billion+ from the FG, coupled with its 250 billion+ IGR. The lagos state government does not provide free education or healthcare, it doesn't provide jobs and since the state is already developed infrastrurally, there is no pressing need to build any airport, build road, schools, sea ports, etc.
www.tribune.com.ng/index.php/education/4363-realizing-free-education-in-lagos

Saying Lag is already developed and as such needs no investment in infrastructure is wrong and misleading.

Do you know how much the population of Lagos has grown??

Do you know that some areas which were uninhabited or sparsely populated 20-30 years ago are now densely populated, thus needing essential infrastructure??

Are you aware that some of the infrastructure put in place by the FG would be in serious need of repairs, expansion or even replacement??

The fact is, because of the immense population growth of the state, there is need for massive investment in infrastructure in order to cater for the basic needs of the teeming population..

talktimi: mr garri, have you ever been to bayelsa state or whr you in bayelsa state when GEJ was deputy governor/governor?
I expect you to explain or present facts of his achievements as Deputy Governor

In the 36 states of Nigeria have you ever heard commendations for infrastructural developments being ascribed to deputy governors instead of governors except maybe in their lg's or villages?
he was part ‎Άnd parcel of Alams thieving regime, so he's not guilt-free

How long did GEJ stay as governor of bayelsa state before he was called by OBJ to become the late Yar'Adua's running mate?
A year and half. About 18 months of doing nothing!! Which uncompleted project did he complete and commissi0n or which project did he start during the period??

Do not let your seething hatred for GEJ derail you from giving objective and empirical analyses/arguments on this topic.
I don't hate him personally. He's a nice person actually. But when it comes to governance he's just a chap who was promoted to a position far above his intellectual, mental and emotional capacity.

Its up to you to honestly answer the questions I posed if you like
OK

[s]but it would be a pity for someone as intelligent as you are to be amongst the bandwagon of those who sit in their living room all day spewing what they absolutely know nothing about[/s]

Iolo: I wonder why your tying GEJ into the scenario. Is he the one to tell the Governors how to spend their monies? If he unduly interferes its still some people that would say he's interfering.

The ND has experienced really bad leadership since time immemorial. Esp Delta and Bayelsa states. Their Governors must be pressured to start doing more by the populace.
1. GEJ was Deputy Governor and later Governor of Bayelsa state. During his tenure he achieved NOTHING, just like the present crop of leaders in the ND.

2. The non-performers in the ND were endorsed by GEJ (T.A. Orji, Uduaghan, Sylva etc)

3. GEJ is a key figure in the PDP and most of the ND states are controlled by the PDP.

4. GEJ has showed a bad example at the federal level. This bad example is being copied by some of the ND governors...

blink182: Shame won't even allow me to post development in delta state. It is in delta state only the governor's relative collect contracts then sell to another person who sells to the final contractor that has no construction equipment. Life span of roads here is less than a year and the recent harmattan road rehabilitation was pouring of granite in pot holes. Even the really big pot holes that needed the most attention were left unattended.
"The finger of God" truly is working in Delta State....

PoliticsRe: What Have Niger Delta States Achieved So Far? by GARRIx7(m): 12:10pm On Jan 19, 2013
The worst managed states in the Niger-Delta region are Delta, Bayelsa and Abia...

Its sad to note as well that Goodluck Jonathan is a part and parcel of the rot and mismanagement of resources in the region...

If Goodluck Jonathan has failed to develop develop his state and ensure that capable hands are at the helm of affairs one isn't left in doubt as to why the PDP-led Federal Government hasn't ceased to disappoint Nigerians...

Goodluck Agbaya Jonathan in collaboration with the Governors of the Niger-Delta states have been in the fore-front of impoverishing the people of this oil-rich region.

The visionless leadership of the Niger-Delta governors and leaders both at state and federal level has been the bane of the development of the region.

Eko Ile: Sometimes these clowns are crying out for help because of the misery and backwardness they are swimming in. They hate to see Lagos leaving them behind.
.... And instead of crying to the State Governors they prefer saying thrash about a region that has decided to make progress by ensuring that capable hands are at the helm of affairs..

These ones have dark and wicked hearts. While they deserve some pity, they'll need some form of divine intervention to help rid their hearts of such deep seated envy and hate...

ogbeche77: To start with,we need an update on all the previously paraded suspects.
While myopic individuals rejoice over the arrest of some suspects (who might be innocent), thoughtful folks should ask about the king-pins who've been arrested over time.

Are they being prosecuted yet?

Have their sponsors been revealed? If yes, when will they be arrested, investigated and prosecuted?
