PoliticsRe: History Of Etche People In Rivers State. by gartamanta: 5:30pm On Jun 20, 2020
They say Etches, Ikwerres and Ogba are all from Bini. Today, all three speak Igbo and have Igbo names. Why would Bini people migrate to present day Rivers state and forget both their language and names? Is Bini that far from Rivers? Someone explain to me why Bini people who migrated sonewhere chose to forget their language and names?
PoliticsRe: Do Election Debates Really Matter In Nigeria? by gartamanta: 5:21pm On Jun 20, 2020
Election debates are important but they do not matter on Nigeria. The reason is that the votes of the people rarely count. The same politicians coming to debate are the same people who will deploy every avenue to rig elections. So what is the point of debate? The only good thing about debate is that whoever rigs himself 8nti power can be held accountable according to what he said in the debate

PoliticsRe: If Nigeria Is A Zoo,what Are The Citizens Of A Zoo Called? by gartamanta: 11:12am On Jun 20, 2020
Nigeria is far worse than a zoo. At least in a zoo, the animals are cared for, sheltered and taken care of. Even the animals in the zoo can boast of 3 square meals. A zoo is organised

Nigeria isnt worth even calling a zoo, it is far worse than that
PoliticsRe: What Is The Way Forward In View Of What Is Happening In The North? by gartamanta: 10:16am On Jun 20, 2020
proeast:
For over ten years now, the North has been battling with serious crises of civil war proportions. What started in Borno state as Boko Haram has snowballed into a conflagration that is decimating the region like wildfire. At the last count, almost the entire NE and most parts of NW and NC are now recording deaths and destruction on a daily basis and there seems to be no end in sight.

GEJ was accused of having an antinorth agenda and when his former chief army staff in the person of Ihejirika began to make serious headway against Boko Haram, the same people at the receiving end of the crises mounted a campaign of calumny against him that he was killing their people, and he was removed.

At the moment, the federal government is spending billions of dollars in the so-called fight against insurgency, monies that would have been used in building roads, schools, hospitals and other sectors. To make matters worse, even the few arms and ammunition that are bought with what is left after embezzlement, would still end up either stolen or destroyed by Boko Haram and the circle continues.

I was shocked the other day to discover that many countries with little population including some African countries have bigger budgets than Nigeria yet a huge percentage of our small budget still goes into a phantom war without end against insurgency.

Nigeria is currently so backward that even by African standards, we are way behind. Look at our schools and colleges, hospitals, roads just name it and compare them with what is obtainable in other African countries like South Africa, Ghana, Egypt, Kenya, Rwanda, Morocco, Botswana etc. We all should be ashamed of our situation and hopeless future.

Are we going to remain docile instead of taking our destiny into our own hands? Are we going to continue fighting one another while the rest of the world leaves us behind?

Our population is estimated to be 200 million today and is growing rapidly while our national income keeps depreciating. We have now resorted to using borrowed loans to be financing our budgets that are largely recurrent, so what will happen to us in say 5 to 10 or 20 years from now?

If you are from Southern Nigeria and you are not seriously bothered at what is going on, then you are definitely living in a fool's paradise.

My people, winter is coming. So, what do we do to save our ourselves and future generations??
The North cannot be saved, they have long passed that point. A combination of feudal mindset, Islamic fundamentalism and backwardness has rendered that area an eternal war zone. So those in the south must face the decision. Do you want to be in the same country with those who will forever drag you down or do you seek a seperate country where you can develop your self without such distractions?

This is a question people like Ojukwu, Nnamdi Kanu, Ralph Uwazurike and others asked themselves and reached a decision on many years ago. Remarkably, it is those in the South that will still join the North to fight these men so that the entire south can be dragged down with the North

Over 95% of all Igbos are Christians. So Kanu is planning to kill 95% of his own people? Is Dokubo really this daft?

PoliticsRe: Failed Biafran Invasion Of Midwest by gartamanta: 3:43pm On Jun 19, 2020
Some Yorubas are happy that the Biafran Army was repelled from the Miwest. What these Yorubas dont seem to know or understand is that Yoruba land was already occupied territory.

The Nigerian Army of the time, made up mostly of Northerners, had already murdered the Military Governor of Western Nigeria, Lt Colonel Fajuyi and took over Ibadan.

They also drove Brigadier Ogundipe, who was the rightful head of state, out of Lagos and took over Lagos.

All of this happened in Yoruba land and Yorubas kept silent and submissive as the Northerners imprisoned them in their own land.

But the most shocking thing of all is that when Ojukwu sent an Army, led by a Yoruba man called Victor Banjo, to liberate Yorubas from the shackles the North had already put them, they fought against that Army at Ore.

How can someone be fighting to be a slave rather than fight to be free? The Midwest debacle is something that is shocking. It is an episode where Yorubas actually fought to remain slaves of the North rather than fight to be their own masters
PoliticsRe: Nnamdi Kanu To FG: Invite Us To Negotiate Peaceful Exit Of Biafra by gartamanta: 3:25pm On Jun 19, 2020
What is funny about this thread is that the main thing that Kanu said is lost on most of those who have commented so far.

Kanu is talking insecurity, loss of lives and property, arrest of protest organisers, lack of government initiative to stop the killings, the seeming support of traditional institutions for the killers and fact that many people in high office have turned a blind eye to the bloodshed.

But some people are more interested in attacking Kanu, IPOB and Biafra as if they are the problem.

Armed people are out there killing Nigerians and you are busy attacking Kanu who is speaking out against the slaughter of your fellow human being?

When will some people get sense?

He is absolutely right though. There are sections and members of IPOB that can be described as terrorists. They're too closed minded and extreme. They are the ones that will insult and insult and insult you once you have a differing view. Nnamdi Kanu has to do something about this, although I'm not sure how much success he can achieve to this end. It's good Uche Mefor has spoken out.
So to insult a person has now become terrorism? Nigerians and their mentality

They are just using that property and wealth bait to keep themselves confused. I can forgo every penny I have outside Igboland just to be in Biafra.
Why would you have to forgo a penny of your hard earned money because you have a separate country? Has any Nigerian had to forgo any property or money they legitimately made in other countries simply because they are Nigerians? Is it a crime to have money and investments in any country other than your own?

Who told this albino that Igbos want an exit? So those with properties and businesses in Lagos should become aliens in their own domain and start being treated as foreigners right?

Nnamdi Kanu is a very selfish human being misleading poor youths cos his father doesn't own a pin outside his village. Ewu!
Must you be a Nigerian to own property and investments in Nigeria? Most Igbos would have no problem becoming foreigners in Nigeria if it meant having their own separate country in the east.

Igbos are used to being foreigners, even all over the world

Nnamdi Kanu, leader of the secessionist group IPOB is one of the most controversial characters in Nigeria. Why would anyone start a rumor that their president has died and has been replaced with a clone? why the constant attacks and calling your own country a zoo? most importantly is Nnamdi Kanu a saint or just another megalomaniac?

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=6M5RBWw0tG8
Nnamdi Kanu is neither a saint or a megalomaniac, he is just someone who has the courage to say how a section of Nigeria feel about Nigeria. There are section(s) in Nigeria who feel that Nigeria has failed terribly and that they are better off out of Nigeria than in it. Nnamdi Kanu is just someone that amplified the voices of those people so that they are heard at the national and international level.

Rumours that a president is dead and has been replaced by a body double or a cabal is a general thing that happens when a president takes long periods of absence with no explanation. The same rumour was there when Yaradua was away for months without a word

Every Nigerian knows that as bad, if not worse, than a zoo. Kanu is just a voice for the voiceless.

They a scrambling to find a project for APC in the SE. Since the excluded the region in the national development plan that resulted in borrowing of a whopping $30 billion dollars! So, they are desperately trying to make the Niger bridge appear as an Igbo project. Guess the more wicked thing in all this is that the money comes from Abacha's loot and they will still tax the people for using the bridge!

God pass all these wicked men ruling Nigeria today. They too shall pass away and be remember as the dark era. If Nigeria survives at all.
Its funny but what does one expect from the clueless APC government? A bridge with one end in the South East and the other end in the South South, yet every time they will be shouting that it is a South East project. Something that is the South East and South South project

As much as the second Niger bridge is a good thing, I do not understand why many people think it is an "Anambra State Project" or a "South East Project". People have forgotten that this Bridge has one end in Anambra and the other end in Delta State.

Let us also take out time to remember those who have suffered the brutality and excesses of Nigerian Army. Let's remember the many unarmed, defenceless IPOB who were shot, killed and brutalized by the Nigerian Army just because they asked for freedom.

Let us remember the human rights abuse the Soldiers commited by asking unarmed people to lay down in muddy water

Let us remember the 150 IPOB members that the Amnesty International report confirmed were murdered by the Nigerian Army.

I hope people are not mourned in Nigeria based on the colour of uniform they wear?

So the Python dancer is dead? This is good news! My heart is filled with so much joy every time I hear that a Python dancer has been mowed down by Boko Haram or killer Herdsman. When these Python dancers came to the East last year to kill my unarmed fellow Igbos, they didn't know there is Karma.

They ran to the East, declared unarmed IPOB that killed nobody as a terrorist organisation but look the Python dancers getting killed by the armed killer Herdsman tha they will never declare terrorists

For everyone killed in operation Python dance, 10 Python dancers will fall to Boko Haram and the killer Herdsmen!
