Return to the 1963 constitution is good start. Dissolve all 36 states, adopt 6 Regions, split the office of the president into ceremonial president and primeminister, let the Regions keep at least 75% of the proceeds from their land.

In his own words, the Biafran self-determination group leader declared: “I have said it again and again that there was never a time that our brother, the Governor of Anambra State, Chief Willie Obiano, directed the Nigerian Police or the Nigerian Army to shoot our brothers. I cannot in good conscience blame an innocent man for another man’s crimes. I cannot be a party to that.”

Recalling that he was once the Chairman of the UK chapter of the All Progressives Grand Alliance (APGA), Kanu vowed that all attempts by the APC to take over Anambra State would be stoutly resisted by his group.

Speaking on the need for APGA to retain its foothold in Anambra State, he also recalled that “although many people are not aware of it, but we were the ones who voted massively for governor Obiano in 2013 to give him victory at the polls.”

According to him, IPOB does not harbour any ill feelings against Governor Obiano. “The only grouse we had about him was that he did not acknowledge that the victims of the killings were his brothers. But we have forgiven him because he is our brother and a wise man does not nurse a prolonged grudge against his own brother. We have forgiven him.” The self-determination activist further observed that Governor Obiano was from Aguleri, a historically important town to Ndigbo and should be supported by the Igbo people in the coming election.

It would be recalled that some mischief makers had made desperate efforts to pin the blames for the killings of some Biafran self-determination activists in Nkpor in May last year on Governor Obiano.

The vicious campaign had gone on unperturbed by the governor’s repeated declaration of his innocence.

The IPOB leader’s absolution has finally rested all doubts about Governor Obiano’s culpability in that widely condemned incident.

Creating more states is simply going to make things worse. I think that the best form of restructuring is a return to the 1963 constitution when we had no states, no governors, no senators. Just regions, provinces and a federal capital territory

Be there quoting history you don't even understand. Whatsoever that is not written or documented in the Nigerian constitution is considered null and void.

Referendum is a sham as far as Nigerian constitution is concerned. No wonder the house of Reps and house of senates including ur honourable representatives from your constituencies are not talking about it. Im not sure that IPOB or Nnamdi Kanu has ever called for anyone to burn their passports. Not everything flying around the internet is true. What I know is that IPOB has called for is a boycott of the elections until the Nigerian government decides on a referendum. Election boycott is legal and referendum is recognised the world over. A referendum was conducted in Nigeria in 1961, so it is not new.

The readon why Nnandi Kanu is resonating for his people is because he stands self determination, something that is very important to Igbos. Nnamdi Kanu isnt the problem, anyone who thinks so has missed the point. The point is 'is Nigeria a workable entity?'

If Kanu is no more today, will that end the feeling of marginalisation felt by many? Will it give Nigeria unity? Will it make Nigerians love themselves? Will it heal ethnic divides? Will it stop the routine killing of Igbos in.the North? Will Herdsmen atracks stop? Will Igbos and many of the minorities who have been exploited for years have a sense of belonging in Nigeria?

These questions will not go away, wether Kanu self destructs or not and Nigeria will not be a better place.

My own opinion on Biafra is that since we were gathared together by the British in a 'colonial house' called Nigeria, anyone who complains that the place has become too stuffy should be given the keys to door so they can leave to get some air.

Nigeria has turned out to be a disasterous faliure so if anyone feels they can do better on their own, they should be allowed to do so.

No one became Nigerian out of free choice, it was imposed on us all. It is only right that we do not carry on with that imposition but allow those who seek a separate destiny to go.

Failure to answer each of the above questions honestly and satisfactorily will be a huge indictment on your decency as a person.

Referendum died many years ago with the civil war.

Referendum is not enshrined in Nigerian constitution because it's an international order of seeking for self governance from greater nations through United Nations accreditation.

It beats my imagination when people begin to compare British constitution with Nigerian constitution. It is clearly stated in British rule that any regions or communities that seeks for referendum should be granted urgent attention due to the fact that, great Britain has colonized many nations and ready to free any willing nation that wants to be self governed.

How many countries has Nigeria colonized that would warrant referendum in her constitution.

Personally, I think that the only people who were forced into anything are the ethnic groups who make up Nigeria. It was them that the West African fronteer force led by Lugard forced into an unholy union which Lugards wife called Nigeria. Ever since then, everybody has been fighting each other. An Hausa man who didnt know who Igbos were before the arrival of the British is now claiming he is 'one' with Igbos. He doesnt even care if the majority of Igbos share his point of view. A Bini man will get up and say he is 'South/South' with a Efik man. The same Bini man has no links with the Efik whatsoever. All these artificial unions such as Nigeria and South/South has to stop because only a few men sat than in a room to create them. What matters is what the people themselves choose because as it is, we are all in prison, even if we dont know it. That is why I like Kanu's push for a referendum. Nigeria has not seen a referendum of sovereignty since 1961 when the British Cameroons voted. Northern British Cameroon voted to join Nigeria, the South voted to join Republic of Cameroon. That is democracy.

What Kanu and IPOB are doing by calling for a referendum in the SE/SS area is no different from what a politician does when he goes to ask the people to vote for him. If you like the politician and his vision, you may choose to vote him in. If you dont like him, do the needful.

The important thing is that everyone is given the power of choice. None of us were given the choice to decide if we want to be Nigrians or not.

If we all remember, Scotland was given the choice to decide in 2014 if they want to be British. Why would anybody be dreaming about leaving a superpower nation like Britain? But the Scots agitated for it.

Nigeria is nowhere near Britain in terms of economic and technological advancement but some Nigerians are questioning the audacity of anyone to leave Nigeria?

Referendum is a democratic thing and people should learn to embrace it particularly the Southern minorities who have groaning under the weight of marginalisation.

Nnamdi Kanu spent almost 2 years in jail for his beliefs. He was in London, he didnt need to come down to Nigeria where he was already a wanted man. But he did. He stands for self determination and freedom. Just because Lugard lumped all of us together does not mean we are one country, nor does it mean we are one. Nnamdi Kanu is just evidence that Nigeria is unworkable.
