you did not read me well. I mentioned " statutory " which means he cannot marry another in court. yes I agree he can marry as many as he can under traditional law and custom.

The bride price is the consideration that makes traditional marriage valid and binding contract. It is generally known that bride price is the only returnable item in traditional marriage and most towns accept as little as 30 naira as dowry. The effect of bride price not returned is far reaching; 1 it means that the woman in question is still Emenike's wife. Any child she bears for another man is automatically that of Emenike although supreme court had ruled against it. 2 if the woman dies in this state, Emenike will bear the full responsibility since she is still the wife. 3 Emenike will not be able to marry another woman under statutory law because he has a subsisting marriage and may be guilty of bigamy and risk 7 years imprisonment. 4 if Emenike dies now, she can inherit properties as a valid wife of Emenike. There are so many reasons why Emenike must collect the bride price and he is adviced to do so as soon as possible once he is sure the marriage has failed. Collection of bride price back is a statutory requirement to end traditional marriage.

The Italians are not subject to our traditional marriage law. The essentials of valid traditional marriage in Nigeria are lacking. What are the essentials of valid traditional marriage in Nigeria? 1 The couples must be Nigerians 2 there must be payment of dowry and in Igboland some one must be there to accept the bride price ( father or guardian) 3 The woman must be handed over to the man. 4 parental consent must be obtained etc

A guy came up to me for advice. He is having issues with cobwebs on his face on the particular spot on his face. As it stands now, only a competent court can make a pronouncement of guilt or innocence. The judgement of the court is that of innocence on the Senator; it is only the court that can change that decision and the Senator remains innocent until the court sets aside the judgement and if Lagbaja said that ( I still believe he did not ), well he may be sued for defamation.

I personally don't believe Lagbaja said that. If the court of the land did not find him guilty of murder of Chief Bola Ige, No man can say otherwise. If any one has fresh evidence against the alleged killer of Chief Bola Ige, it will make sense to approach the law. I want to concentrate on Hebrew words that mean the same thing in Igbo language. 1 remove consonants from some Hebrew words, you will. get the same meaning in Igbo language. eg Bethel; remove th and you have Be El which means house of El in both languages. 2 Kolu means voice or neck in Hebrew. remove the consonant k and you are left with Olu which means voice or neck in Igbo. other words are ADA first daughter in Igbo, MAZ Hebrew, MAZI Igbo meaning Mister in both languages. JEREMIAH means who will go for me? Igbo says 'je re m ya' meaning Go for me. ISAIAH means he has answered. Igbo says I za ya meaning you have answered him or her. I can write a whole book on that. Next time I have the chance, I shall write on cultural similarities.
