tayoteewhy07: i have a pontiac vibe 2005, The check engine light always on.I scanned it and the code is P0420. I want to byepass the catalytic converter by using the oxygen sensor spacer but I have been finding it difficult here in Kubwa Abuja.
incogni2o: You wish I payed 10K for just diagnosis, then another over 10K for fixing?
Oga, abeg, no vex, when I get richer, I will definitely come over, but as it is now ehnn.
Boys dey manage.
Continue servicing your boxed up customers while I continue visiting my mechanic too.
Thanks for your advices though
Peace.
Nope. Problem was not solved with injector cleaner sold in a bottle . However I am glad problem was solved. But do not mislead the public onto buying snake oil. Its generally a waste of money
As regard the downstream O2 sensor, just as I updated some days ago, the socket I saw was and is it's connector...
I just removed the cut out plug now..
If you look at the picture I uploaded earlier, you'd discover that its own downstream O2 sensor is located right below the front catalyst converter, almost an inch away..
Thanks bro.
when I get same vehicle type, I will show you where to find the connector.
But in the mean time, who can know, your design might be different
Pls, I want to ask, my car gasket has been changed by previous owner, possibly cos of overheating..
I asked the cause thou, he said he didn't noticed on that is fan weren't working hence the reason for the blown gasket..
Now my question is this, can I still get the fan return back to factory settings??
If yes, won't it have any effects on the new gasket? Cos I had my mech looked at it sometimes ago and he simply inspected the gasket and concluded that NO.
I had to run on a single fan in other to avoid PO128 and maintain car temperature gauge staying in the middle...
If the head cylinder was taken to a machine shop and properly skimmed you have no issues. If not you might see milkyway with a touch of misfires after a few days.
dahflemzy: Boss...the mechanic changed d fuel fuel pump and still same issue of not starting..after hours of diagnosing, he later found/discovered that the ECU(brain box is bad) cos it was hot. I just shock. Pls how much is Kia Rio 2009 brain box...the man dey say 200k....how much will d engine now be if brain box is 200k
mashnino: Hello house.. Please help i drive an accord 2008 4-cylinder
I scanned my car this morning and i noticed my car was running rich.. You can see from the image below
When i start the engine from cold, the short term trim goes as low as -10% at idle before settling at a range of -3%—7% .. After while the long term trim starts also reading in the negative also.
Also i noticed the fuel system status is reading CL_fault which means something is wrong with closed loop system
And then the 2 codes
P2185 - engine coolant temperature sensor 2 high P0141 - O2 sensor heater bank 1 sensor 2
As for the
P0141
code i want to believe it's there because there isn't catalytic converter in the car.. I bought the car that way..
Presegs: If you own or know about a car or vehicle, you will agree with me that battery and alternator are essential in it. The battery supplies power to many things in a car or vehicle while the alternator charges the battery. There are some instances when ones car or vehicle will not start because the battery is low, and we keep wondering if there is a parasitic drain, if the battery is wrong or if the alternator is not working or has gone bad.
Many people like me, having car scanners like the Launch CRP129E used in the video below, don't know that they could check the status or condition of their car's battery and alternator.
The voice in the video below is that of Mr Adeniyi Adeleye(tutor of Automobile Scanning Masterclass on a WhatsApp group), edited by Mr Adesida Oluwasegun, the C.E.0 of Autos and Cartalk.
For emphasis purposes, whenever you check the status using a car scanner like Launch CRP 129E, which has the features, it will show the battery's voltage(should be around 12v) if the car is on the ignition. In contrast, it will show the voltage(should be around 14.5v) of the alternator if the car's engine is running.
