payne4real: Hello house, I just got a US used tokunbo Toyota Highlander 2006 limited edition. I want to know the best oil (engine, steering etc) to use. I also want to know the best way to maintain the car and the likely issues I can encounter. Thanks for your prompt response.
You should start by checking vehicle history for when the timing belt, waterpump and rollers were changed. 140,000miles or 7years which ever comes first. Ask carguide to search for the service history. If you cannot find them, replace with original parts
amosfunmi: Good Evening Baba, my Camry 2000 5s fe engine is not doing well 1. The car usually goes off after a long drive usually more than 1hr continuous drive, vehicle would just jerk and go off, some times it take time to start back sometimes it start and does not idle. this does not usually happen when driving within the town, though short journey. 2. I have scan and got P0105 pointing to MAP sensor. I have done the basic check before buying a tokunbo MAP sensor: harness is good and there is 5v supplied when on. 3. I have replace the MAP sensor and the issue is still happening. I was advised to look at the TPS, that I have also changed and the issue is still happening. what else can I check/inspect that would help in resolving this issue
slimmoney: good afternoon sir GAZZUZZ, i have a 2008 honda civic that i replaced the atf with dw1 last 2 month but just last week i noticed that the gear revv high before changing but all the gears changed well, i was directed to a gear mechanic, he drove it for some minutes without popping the hood and told me i need to change the gearbox, please what will be your advice on this.
Foolishbuhari: Guys this is an advise to avoid these Car washes that use this high pressure water gun to wash cars, especially careless ones!
It's currently costing me almost 2 hundred thousand to fix my 2016 CLA250.
1. How they did it I don't know, but some how, water got into my left head light and my chargers got burned. Cost of changing those, 60-70 thousand naira!
2. My car had a parking break sensor issue some weeks back. It would not leave parking break. I called Gazzuzz (this is an appreciation message to him too). Man's a gem! Called him and he picked on the first call. He was so nice and suggested ways to help.
Unfortunately I didn’t exactly have the tolerance to start digging through all the Mercedes Benz padding to get to the ASICS he spoke of, lol. Finally fixed it and it cost me 25k
3. Just yesterday, my car started showing blind-spot assist failure. Pointers wouldn't work and AC would switch off on its own. Took it to the tech, he ran a scan and went ahead to fix it. This one cost 50k.
Then the techie told me. Avoid those car washes. Water from their high pressure spray gun gets into certain places they shouldn't and those cars and water are not exactly friends. Just as Gazzuzz told me when I called him over the park brake error, man asked if I had been "swimming" with the car lol!
I also randomly remember my first C300, also got an EIS fault directly from the car wash. Car had to be towed to the mechanic from the car wash!
So from today, I have resolved to do my washing by myself! My hand no cut! God bless us all and give us funds to maintain these elegant pieces of engineering we drive! Selah.
Modified: I forgot to mention that for some miracle, my passenger back seat is currently a pond! How water got in I don't know but my rugs are soaked and dripping water. Anyone else suspects the culprits? Yeah your guess is as good as mine!
NOC1: If you clearly read the whole news, you will agree with the UK embassy that the guy is not working with the company or he is an illiterate.
Furthermore, you were initially unable to state the correct names of the current Chairperson and Managing Director of Sabi Micro Finance Bank Ltd. This is something a Head of Operations would know. You were also unable to describe the core values and mission of Sabi Micro Finance Bank Ltd as described on its website.”
If i am the owner of the organization I will sack him on getting this report, this shows he is incompetent and he does not believe in the organization. He is not an ambassador of the company.

I have a 2013 RAV4 I’ve used for a year with a fuel consumption of 11mpg. It’s quite excessive and I need a way to fix it. Any idea what could be the cause? Engine runs smooth otherwise, though I’ve had to change wheel rotors and I’m still not satisfied with the wheels/suspension generally. Bought Nigerian used.
I drive a Honda City 2007 with a little over 135k miles. Right now the ride vibrates badly when engaged on drive when, maybe, in traffic or not in motion. Airflow system is the suspect, tried tweaking on that but still no solution.

FineUsername: Is something wrong with my Civic, 2008?
I changed from Mobil 2000 5w30 to Synthetic 5w30 and I noticed this loud humming noise coming from the engine. This usually happens in the morning or at evening when heading home after work.
The noise reduce/go away when the engine gets hot.
Have driven about 1,500km since the last oil changed.
easysunny: Greetings Gazzuz & other Ogas in the house.
Pls I need help. My 2008 Honda Pilot develop some problems. The radiator fans stopped working unless I turn AC on. If the AC is on the fans will be working okay, but once AC is off, the fans will not spin. This problem started when car AC worked on it. The AC man damaged the radiator when trying to remove compressor coil which he said spoiled. In order to remove the coil, he brought out the radiator & other parts. The opening that connect the gear oil hose was damaged. Without telling me he block the gear oil from entering the radiator. This resulted to car jerking & transmission overheating. It was discovered and the radiator was repaired and reconnected back properly. Now, 2 days ago, I noticed that the fans are not working unless AC is On. If I on the engine without AC, the engine + radiator will be hot & bring out smoke as fan is not working. However, the temperature reading is still normal at middle. I approached a Rewire at my area, after checking told me that the Thermostat has spoiled. That I've to REMOVE THE THERMOSTAT & RUN THE FAN DIRECTLY. But I refused because I've read that it's not advisable to remove Thermostat. Now, for me to use the car, the AC must be On so that the fans can work.
Pls, what could be the problem & how to fix it?
Thanks
please Run a test, turn on the car without the AC and watch if the fan comes on. Ensure you wait and only give up if the temp goes above the half mark. Also ensure the temp sensor 2 which is at the base of the radiator is firmly connected.
Dez10: Good morning Gazzuzz & every auto enthusiast here present.
I am faced with these two confusing situations:
1. I have a Toyota matrix 2006, i discovered upon routine check on my transmission oil that it's brownish in colour & it's sticky and a little bit viscous. The transmission oil has never been changed since i bought it, 2½yrs now. Though d shifting is excellent, very smooth, no clunck noise when put in Drive & Reverse. Am really enjoying it.
Pls do u guys advice i change the transmission oil? If YES, what is the OEM recommended transmission oil for my car?
2. I also discovered that there's no catalyst in my car & d exhaust noise is a little bit high upon slight throttle. I like a quiet ride especially in my street . Since d sound is always heard at d tail of d exhaust, i am planning to attach a double walled exhaust tip muffler. Pls will this have any back pressure effect or any damage to my engine?
See attached picture:
1. Change your Transmission oil twice after running the engine in a 1 day interval. With Toyota TIV. Pic below, sellers number 08033910382.
2. You have a leaking exhaust, find it and fix it.
Henroobaba: Good Afternoon Mr Gazzuzz, pls i would your opinion about the Mitsubishi Pajero Jeep 2008. I will like to know if the parts are readily accessible in Nigeria and what to watch out for in owning or buying one. Thank you
New original parts are available and as usual pricy. It's not common in the American market, so used parts are not easy to find .
