Please my Toyota Camry 2007 gear oil was changed and my mechanic advice me to use T-iv which was expensive more than what I usually used to service my Honda, to my surprise after the gear oil was changed I notice my car force itself to switch gear when am on motion and when I tried to speed it won't move.

Am been scared to use it, tho everything was working fine before my mechanic told me the gear oil need change.

Kindly advice me on what to do sir.

It was a lovely sight to behold, No oil stains, aluminum was the colour of aluminum, bolts where all shiny, and catalyst what very intact and white.
Instantly I knew she was the one I was taking back to mama!

Usually I do a VIN check before I purchase an expensive engine that has its origin from USA or Canada, apart from the usual checks when buying an engine, a vin check can give you insight into what to expect. You can always find the vin tag on the engine or transmission, and it refers to the VIN for the Vehicle the engine/transmission came from

My Vin reports are usually done by the one and only Computerglobal his reports come in quick and are always accurate.

Examples Vin reports that discourage me from buying an engine.

* flood of any kind

* Fires affecting engine area (Fire might have been put out by water)

* multiple users with high mileage (over 300k) awon taxi drivers

* sever Front impact the clearly Damaged the engine/transmission frame, but you see a complete engine in the market (awon boys have replaced all broken parts for you, unfortunately they do not always do a good job at that)

Etc.......

Vinreports that give me joy.

* Low mileage rollovers

* Rear impact low mileage

* Minor front impact, engine Not disabled (low mileage)

* Hail damage (Thank you Baba God)

I need some expert opinion on my Honda Civic 07. I noticed a sluggish acceleration when AC is on, especially when moving from a stop. Also the speedometer doesn’t seem to show the true speed value. I can be driving on the expressway on full speed, the speedometer will be around 50-60km/h.
I have 2 faults codes relating to faulty o2 sensor and ECT sensor which I’m yet to fix.

What could be the cause of the sluggish acceleration and speedometer?

So i bought a honda civic 2010 in july, using that oil percentage meter in the dashboard, i have changed the engine oil once. The road to my house is a bit gallopy, and I get a few hits in the chasis sometimes, i just feel like i need to take the car to a mechanic probably to check the legs becauae of the road I ply, I don't want to be caught by surprise. What do i tell the mechanic to check so i dont sound like a novice.

There is a big fraud scheme going on the third Mainland bridge in Lagos because of the ongoing construction work there. My father-in-law fell victim last week and this is the simple story. Drivers plying that route, please beware!!!

Construction on the second side of the bridge started about last week, which meant that you couldn't drive straight to Obalende/Victoria Island from Adekunle bus-stop. However if you found yourself there (Adekunle), a diversion was created on the Oworo side where you could make a u-turn under the bridge and turn to the other side thereby joining the bridge to Obalende/Victoria Island. Since the construction started generally, people have had to endure manic traffic daily arising not just from the closure of the bridge itself, but other adjoining roads without any warning about the closure of those roads (you'll just wake up to realize your street has been cordoned off), nor the provision of alternative routes. As it is in their nature, the government has just left people to sort out themselves and find their way anyhow.

Back to the story, the diversion under the bridge (a small gate leading to the other side) was opened since Monday and you needed to see the mad traffic, but people still endured. This particular road had been in the news before now for many wrong reasons; from being a hideout for hoodlums and traffic robbers to once being rumoured as a route for ritualists. So from Monday to Wednesday lastweek, thousands of cars took that route to cross to the other side and there were always these rough-looking boys around, either helping to push broken down cars or just doing outright begging. Whichever way, it was the route ALL vehicles followed from Adekunle to turn to the Obalende/Victoria Island side.

Anyways, fast-forward to Thursday, some men (claiming to be men from the local government) stormed the place in the morning and started arresting cars on that route and saying the Lagos government had given the order to impound vehicles found on one-way routes. Note, this road is a small gate under the bridge (has no vehicular movement from the other side whatsoever) and had never been opened to cars before (so it's not designated officially as one-way or two-way); and so it seemed appropriate at this time as we have had such ad hoc routes opened in several places from time to time since the construction started - people who use the bridge daily can attest to these ad hoc openings daily. My father-in-law (over 60 years old) was driving by himself to his office on this route when he was stopped by these guys (note that there were several other vehicles on the path but they probably targeted those they saw as vulnerable). Out of courtesy, he wound down the side glass to ask what was going on, but to his surprise was forcefully wrestled off the steering. He was left in a state of shock as the boys were fierce. When one of them eventually got into the vehicle, they threatened him about his car being impounded by them and later auctioned because that road was a one-way route (one that doesn't even exist as an official road on the map; no road signs, just sand and dirt) and then gave him an option to pay a token to them if he didn't want to lose his vehicle. According to them, they were doing him a favour!! After begging for several minutes and being harassed, he was asked to park his car and was taken on foot to another one of them who had a POS machine on him. My father-in-law paid N62,500 to them (receipt attached) before he was let go. He was really shaken. Obviously, the road is now a trap to lure unsuspecting drivers and rip them off. Drivers on this route, please beware! These boys are there now everyday. Anyone else experienced this??
