eDriiz: Gazzuzz i have come again. So my 08 v6 camry gear engages but doesnt move. Someone comes to check it he touched something in the engine ide and it started moving but he says the gear has issues and it wld cost 150k to fix. I dnt know y i dnt trust him
Does it work properly now? Pls take a pic of engine bay and circle what he touched.
kcbaba007: Honda Gurus, my EOD was giving AC issues, then changed the condenser and evaporator, cleaned up the system and charged it with gas, when i put in d 1st bottle of gas, the thermostat was cutting as it should do, but when i put in d second bottle, it stopped cutting, i felt i had overcharged it, i reduced it and made sure there is no air in d system, yet, the thermostat refused to cut, i checked d harness, nothing wrong, the ac is chilling fine,
Now, i noticed that the engine has started loosing compression when the ac is on, i would have to switch the account off before it can pickacceleration, if i throttle, it hesitates before picking, it sometimes looks like it's Not changing gear as it should, even to climb hill, e go kind of dey crawl, if i come to a near stop, and throttle to move, it won't respond immediately, i would have to press d throttle liketwice or thrice before it will move, d gear 1 sometimes can't climb a small culvet, pls, what could be happening and what can i do?
Scanned, all i got was ECT P2185 and ABS, this are codes that were there before this issue, i am yet to deal with this codes

how long have you owned the car? How long have you used the car WITH the a/c working?
Joe4lv: Oga gazzuz, what are the consistent problems associated with 2009-2012 corolla A.C compressors and the reason why it always fail in those brands of corolla.
Thinking of getting any of them by next month but the consist complain of A.C compressor failing is a big turn off for me
The VDC Compressors in most corrolas die out at around 120-150,000miles. In the S.A models it is worse, they seldom get to 100,000km before packing up. Now it varies based on where vehicle was used, if vehicle was used in Canada, you have a longer compressor life span as it was hardly ever used, but if your corrola was used in texas, it's like car was used in maiduguri (dem don flog the a/c wella) the issues surrounding a/c fixing in nigeria is the cost of brand new parts. buying a used compressor is a game of luck, also if there are still metal fragments in the system from the old compressor or a degrading suction or discharge hose, you will go back to square 1 in less than one week. The total cost of brand new parts are usually in the 350,000-450,000 for most toyota (compressor, condenser, pipes, expansion valve, evaporator, refrigerant and lubrication.) Sadly it's not favorable to the pocket of the average Nigerian. The closest option is to intall a manual compressor. The manual Compressors are very durable and can tolerate abuse (dirty systems, systems not vacuumed, failing fans etc) installing a compressor that sits properly is key so you don't have failing serpentine belts all the time. With time and over 20units I have realised the hilux compressor from the 2TR engine is a very good match for the 2/1ZR engine in the corrola I have some running up to 3years without issues. Cost of conversion is about ~N120,000
Joe4lv: Please, which of the year from 2009-2014 usually have this A.C compression issues as I am considering buying those type of corolla soon?
All models of corrola. Toyota moved to automatic Compressors to improve fuel economy, not minding durability. Honda did not move unless in their CVT vehicles.
Do you have 5w20? Its the recommended oil stated on the oil cap of my Accord 2008. Car is just bought as tokunbo and this would be the first service in Nigeria.
I checked car service history, owner has been servicing with Castrol, last service was done at 158k and car is on 162k now with 40% oil life
5w20 is out of stock, but I have something better and still applicable to all hondas

Monlo: Good morning.I use Toyota Camry 2007,I observed that my traficators are no longer working(all 4),I called my repairer to fix it,he said it was the flasher,he changed it,and it was working again. The following day,in the morning I started the car,lol and behold it was not working again even till I got " to and fro " where I went that morning.Later in the afternoon,I started the car again to use,it was working. The following morning,I started the car again it was not working,I had to call my repairer back again,he had to change the flasher again, and it was working. This morning again it did not work while going out, even while returning it did not work.On getting home, with vexation I had to call my repairer to come fix it again, only for him to come, start the car,it started working again.
Intact am getting tired with this ,traficcators problem.I have observed that it doesn't work most often in the morning when I start the car to use,but often in the afternoon,it will work. Please what could be the cause of this? Also do you know the price of this " Flasher", new and Belgium? Cos my repairer says, new one would not work for my car,and he has been using Belgium for my car.
Seunbukola187: Good day oga guzzuzz Please I'm in this dilemma. I have a toyota camry 2003 working well but I have this urge to get a 2006 of same car. Please I'd like to know if this is a good idea sir. Please I want your cadid advice sir. Thanks.
If 4cylinder, it has a sensitive gearbox, be careful with its maintenance if you decide to go ahead
If you have ever owned a ford made in S.A you will know there's a difference in build quality.
The front differential started leaking around 70,000km, a/c compressor packed up around same time, catalysts as usual died in their 30's, steering rack was replaced in its 50's Ford explorer 2012 XLT.
Teeders: Help!! My Nissan pathfinder Brake lights refused to turn off after parking it tonight, I had to remove one of the battery terminals so that the battery won't be drained!! What is the cause and what can I do.
place your back on the drivers side foot mat and look up, you will notice the rubber stub on the brake switch is out completely. Cut rubber slippers with super glue and cover the hole, you will be fine.
Walban: Hello Sir, i have read of comments but not satisfied with an answer. I'm having a P0420 catalytic issue in a Toyota Corolla 2003. I'm seeking advice, is an affordable 20k worked catalyst a good option other than the 65k follow come. My panel beater says they would do the same work. Would fixing it also help improve my fuel efficiency cos I'm not enjoying the Corolla Fu efficiency effect.
maxxx: I can't really tell the distance the car has covered between 2017 and now, since I'm not the one that bought /drove the car initially. But I guess it won't be much cos the first owner has other cars.
