I have an EOD car which is always used by my wife to work and to convey children to and from School. I need another small car for myself, rugged, fuel efficient, low cost spare parts car etc, in essence, a car of very low maintenance cost. I am considering buying a fairly used car between Toyota Corolla 1998 - 2000 Model or Honda Civic 1998 - 2000 model.

Please, advice on the one to go for. Thank you.

But a friend's 07 accord currently has a P0455 Evap Emission system leak detected(large leak) - No drivability or fuel consumption issue, Just the MIL lamp on. I dey suspect the Evap Canister but I told him to start by changing the fuel cap, he has been driving it like that, 3 months now.

I have also scanned another 04 accord with a P0496 HONDA Evaporative Emission System High Purge Flow - Car was stalling after every fuel refill , Purge flow solenoid was stuck open..Changed it and problem went away.

I have a 2000 Acura TL with 3.0 vtec V6 engine
It was ok until a roadside mechanic was meant to service it.
Timing belt got cut, valves were were grinded and fix.
The car is ok but I hear tutututututu from the exhaust, checked for leakage, none, changed plugs and some coils yet sound is same.
What could be wrong cos it's consuming fuel like hell fire

Greetings Oga Gazzuzz and other experts in the house. I visited another mechanic today and sadly he confirmed that my top gasket has been affected. And advised that I change the gasket and resurface it.
I don't have the money for the labor now. what if I remove the thermostat, and run the car like that for the meantime will it help? At most a month from now, I would have sorted myself out.
Advice needed please.

Hello Fellow Nairalanders, I own a Ford Focus 2001 hatchback, and recently it does hard to start in the morning. But once I struggle and on the engine, the problem seize till the next morning when the engine must have been cold.
