My friend bought the land cruiser prado, 2012 sometime last year. She went out of town, about 300 km away, and the car lost the power without any warning on the freeway. The lights appeared on dashboard (likes Christmas tree) and sign for service. The car has been practically dead since then. It's 48 hours now. The mechanics has tried everything to power it but nothing works. Please house any possible suggestion on what to do. The mechanics had ran scan yet nothing was discovered, please gurus in the house,I need your help.

My Toyota Camry 's Slip indicator light came some days ago , my suspicion is that it could have something to do with my Kazeem changing brake pads as that the only recent work that has was done last week. I will appreciate if any one can provide information on what could be the cause.

Good evening nairalanders and the auto gurus in the house. A friend neighbour needs advice as he intends getting his first car. As a first timer he has very little experience with common car faults, how to buy parts, what to do when a car breaks down or develops a fault, a car with minimal issues would be better to give him less of a headache. He is not on nairaland. I have given him some advice and the options have been narrowed down to 3. Please give your honest opinions and reasons as he is viewing every comment as he is going to be reading your advice from my PC.
His salary ranges from 50k to 60k per month.What was your reason for posting this? Well I guess it's so we can work with his present reality. I use to work and live in the north, excellent roads and no traffic, I spent an average of 10-15liters a day (he is single with a new car he will have to show every one )
His budget for buying and doing any work on the car (if it requires any work) is 450 - 550k

Here are the ones I suggested for him:
1995-2000 Mercedes-benz C-class, 1998 -2000 BMW 3- Series/coja (323i or 325i) and Golf 4.

1995-2000 mercerdees C-class: from this I'm sure you are somewhere in the south south or south east . It is a sturdy car, great suspensions great engine, parts available, down side is when the engine harness starts to melt off, you are left with an electrical mess, good thing is it is fixable and withing his budget. He will still do the 10-15liters a day

323i - 325i : have not seen 1 with its original engine in the bay in a while, I'm sure you can find one sha, it's a. Nice car, he will need to find a BMW mechanic.

Golf 4: you don't like ya friend to recommend this car it is evil.

I am using EOD currently and he fell in love with it and I told him that he may not see a really good EOD for his current budget.

you opened this thread to help ya friend with decisions on what vehicle to buy as a first car with his 450-550 budget and a 50-60k salary, My New suggestion is buy a small car (extremely low mileage) possibly bought brand new with Nothing to fix, possibly a car with a 1.2-1.6 engine. There are economic realities out there that every one is aware of, if you do not want to become the friend of a mechanic and continue shifting the date of your wedding because of one car problem or the other you will heed my small advice.
A car (not a truck or a tipper or a bus) is a liability, it's sole purpose is for getting you from point a-b it will only take and not give.

I remembered my youth days when my brother bought a real skate board, fixed it and we rode it at home.

We had a passage with one side wall and the other side door to a room, so on this faithful day, I was home with three of my sisters with nothing to do, we decided to get the show on the road, I was more of a girl during my child hood days so it was easy to be cajoled and also take responsibility for anything we damaged during our dirty in house stunts.

Sometimes after getting bored with teaching the ladies and they still not gigging the adventure, I decided to pull a one time stunt to steal the show. So I rode from wall to door, from door to wall, making a second time I decided to go faster the 3rd time, I lost my balance, stepped on the extreme end of the board, fell backwards and slammed on concrete while the idiotic board went flying, missed one of my sisters and ended up forcing it's way through the door, I was done for.
I had only two options, run away or face the consequences. I received a very good beating from my elder brother but my mother beat my brother blue black and used "olumo rock" to end the reign of the skate board, she claimed he brought home something that almost killed her Prince. Lol, I didn't learn my lesson from the skate board cause I know I also learned how to ride a bike in that same in house passage, that's a story for another day

Happy new week good people of nairaland. I recently bought a 2000 model Toyota Sienna. I've noticed that it's fuel consumption is high. When I made some research, I discovered that its engine rating is 3.0L Please I would like to know if there is any kind of construction or repackaging that can be done on the car for a lower fuel consumption. All advice and or suggestions will be appreciated. Thanks!

every subject in this Universe has 2 subjects, which you may call positive and negative. If you give undivided attention to one of the 2 subjects, it will dominate your experience and you will hardly experience the other subject. I will give you an example. Take any subject that is Peugeot or car. Decide to seek for negatives or short comings of that subject and give full attention to it. Give it 2 or 3 days, you will find it so hard to see any good from that subject anymore, no matter how you used to love and appreciate that subject before the test. But be very careful with the test, because you might be trapped in that frequency and start to have series of negative experiences in other areas of your life.
It’s like this, positive and negative are two different frequencies. Question and Answer are two different frequencies. Problems and solutions are two different frequencies. You can’t be on negative frequency and experience what’s going on in positive frequency. Same way, if you stay on problem frequency, solution will likely not come to you. You have to change the frequency to receive the other. Because you can’t hear or see what is going on in 92 FM station or NTA TV station, when you are in 105 FM station or Channel TV station.
