Rad1cal: Bla bla bla !! If we should ask you about your preferred APC candidate, you will vehemently argue against a Fashola candidacy in favour of Buhari at the top of the ticket. When will clowns like you man up to develop balls and your own mind instead of coming here to act like groupies to the opinion of others? You are the one who never changes with how you have followed others round malevolently over the years on this forum. This is especially sad when it is posters who deem you a sad case and a cretin not worth taking seriously. You never say anything sensible. |
sgsltd: If you look at people comment against him ,it is a tribalism hatred , let's face reality ,if anybody can control lagos he can control the whole world , Fashola beleived in his concept than embesle money ,when you have concept you have the whole money, we have lost 5000-10,000 to boko issue ,do u want us to continue like this ,is it boko never reach hereThank you. This is what makes this forum, and even Nigerians in general, distasteful. Any averagely intelligent person, able to shun prejudice and bias, will know the criteria to judge good leadership is entirely to do with delivering solutions and results. Fashola is feted worldwide because many see his special and exemplary leadership qualities ethnic jingoism will never allow some Nigerians to see. This is Nigeria we are talking of where a man who may have conquered the highest standard the world sets (Wole Soyinka for example) is mocked by his own fellow Nigerians an "illiterate" due to nothing other than ethnic hatred. Fashola would be a great President yet it is ironic Nigerians have become a people who may not see his kind lead us at the centre. Many African nations, today, are simply concerned about progress and do not have the egotism of Nigeria. Even before we talk of the international agencies that will covet Fashola, I can tell you that the man will have plenty of consultancy offers within Africa, from nations serious about development, if he is not politically active in Nigeria beyond 2015. Africa is changing. Nigeria is not changing as it should. I travel and see this shift in leadership mindset to note that some African nations now just want progress and will embrace anyone/anything that helps them achieve that while we Nigerians remain about prejudice, tribalism, bigotry and parochialism. In the end, it is Nigeria that is the loser when the likes of GEJ, i.e mediocrity personified, is Preferred to Fashola because of nothing but ethnic prejudice. The world beyond Nigeria knows Fashola's worth so hateful and ethnocentric clowns can continue to delude themselves on this hateful forum. |
bloggernaija: At least ,he is meeting someone and not sitting in an hotel with ashawos and drinking ogogoro. The SW Governors, of all Governors in Nigeria, are the ones "looking within" the most in Nigeria currently as a matter of core policy. Why is IGR massively increased in all APC-controlled SW States if not for a dedication to 'looking within' for solutions? Is it not a fact that all SW Governors are looking to leverage on and develop areas of competitive advantages such as agriculture, tourism etc? This trip Amosun is on is one embarked on because of the economic reality of Nigeria and not because he is not "looking within". "Looking within" has a ceiling in Nigeria because of the fact we are not practicing true/fiscal federalism where States have full and total control over critical areas they can 'tweak' to deliver optimal socio-economic development. To that extent, and for now, seeking FDI (foreign direct investment) is a very wise way to go. Pragmatically intelligent administrators must work with the reality of Nigeria. This, with their focus and policies, is what I see the current crop of SW leaders doing. |
jassie: I just watch an Anti-Child Labour advert on LTV, sponsored by the Lagos state government. The fine for parents whose children engage in street hawking is N200,000.00 or imprisonment.Kindly indulge me by providing a link that shows Fashola saying education is not for the poor. |
Fashola has not told anyone he is interested in being President so there is no need for this thread that only allows the same ethnocentric and biased characters to cast aspersion on the man's character and real worth. Anyone who wants to judge Nigerian leaders these day would get a better picture inspecting the opinion of non-Nigerians which is likely to be more balanced and less tainted with ethnic prejudice. While the usual characters go through their predictable and tedious objection to Fashola, based on nothing but prejudice against his ethnic origin, the fact is that Fashola is one of the few Governors numerous Nations and prominent world organisations would queue to employ after his tenure as Governor because of his globally acknowledged proven efficacy as a leader only certain hateful Nigerians deny. Nigeria, the typification of prejudice that validates the saying that "a Prophet is not respected in his own Country", does not deserve a leader like Fashola. Fashola has his pick of international opportunities 99.9% of Nigerian leaders would never be considered for. To that end Fashola will be more than OK post 2015 even as the same set of myopic haters blind themselves to the obvious. The man's good name has gone beyond the hate of Nigeria. |
ballabriggs: Why should any sane human expect Jona, the leader of the robbery gang, to discipline his gang member? This man has a history of criminality which has been embedded in him.Gbam !!! GEJ is as corrupt as they come. He is the conductor of the orchestra of corruption in Nigeria. This is why every recommendation to tame corruption has been rejected outright by GEJ. The man is such a crude joke that decent folks can only pray we never see another like him leading us in an age when Africans around us are gaining sensible leaders who do not disgrace their nation daily with "a scandal a day" brazen shamelessness. The Oduah saga is a disgrace to Nigeria and we all know GEJ does not "give a damn". Pointless therefore , under this President, to compare Nigeria to other sane Nations. If we are not entertaining Farouk-Otedola 'James Bond' brouhaha we are dealing with Orasanye-Otti-Ribadu Nollywood drama. A suspected fuel subsidy scammers is even contesting to be a Governor while a Senator in court for links with terrorism is on totally unrestricted bail and 'swaggering' about !!! I could go on all day. GEJ has totally rendered Nigeria a theatre of the absurd yet the nation that is now bigotry and bias personified will ensure he is not in short supply of avid supporters regardless of the fact that his many wrong and condemnable conducts are the sort that will simply not be tolerated anywhere else on earth. 'Goodluck' to Nigeria. Nigerians deserve what they get. |
@OP From my own experience, I have observed that Africans are their own worst enemies. Where do you go from that point? What is the way forward in light of this uncomfortable reality? |
Ndu Chucks, are you drunk or high? My good man, go and sleep it off. |
sagombugo: It sure reeks of Elephantine idiocy when people who aint even qualified to stand as Porters in the court of Tinubu spew trash demanding he should come and tender his certificate to prove to them whether he was a graduate or not when they are neither the Court of LawWell-said. The nauseating obsession of the jobless Op and his co-travellers in hate with Tinubu is irritating. One wonders if these people ever bother with their own leaders or even mind their own business. Tinubu this Tinubu that!!! Na wetin set? Leave the man be and face your worthless leaders. They need your attention. |
@OP. You need to find something to do with your life instead of obsessing over people who have nothing to do with your situation and frustrated ,busyboy' outlook. What have you and other "graduates" made of your lives? Yeye losers. |
zomby: This video is extremely disturbing. You think they care? They are too busy worrying about how to win the next round of elections almost two years away to spare a thought for ordinary Nigerians let alone be moved to act on their behalf. |
Citizens of what should be a great country reduced to this !!! I am even tired of commenting on threads like this because nothing changes for the better for Nigeria. The Government will only make vapid and worthless noise while continuing to misrule Nigerians. Meanwhile, on a good day, it is the same folks who are abused and brutalised who will hold brief for the oppressors that drive them abroad to be treated like animals. Goodluck to Nigeria and Nigerians. |
publisher: LOL,the truth hurts, doesn't it?What truth? That your sort are cursed to forever have others in mind to the extent of saying things that defies fact and does not make sense? Yours is a mental affliction you cannot even get over if you try. I feel sorry for you. |
publisher: Oh, don't be fo0lish Mr Gbawe, everyone knows that ACN is the majority shareholder in this whole APC arrangement. Your contribution makes no sense to me,you ACN/CPC people have been blinded by ethnic solidarity and hero worship such that your leaders can do no wrong.Majority shareholder my foot. Several Parties merged to form the APC. Deal with that and get over your obsession with all things to do with the ACN and the SW. Indoctrinated 'busybody'. |
Dominionng: Bunch of Toothless Dogs!No need cursing EFCC. It is just the way of Nigeria whereby every institution, parastatal or agency that must be independent is just another arm of the government to be controlled by the President of the day. Sad state of affairs but that is the Nigerian reality we would all do well to accept. |
TribalEAST: She is going down. She is going nowhere. Sorry to disappoint you. Those who have done far worse (Adoke-Bello, Allison-Madueke et al) remain firm cornerstones of the ultra-corrupt government of GEJ and I am surprised anyone thinks Oduah is going anywhere. GEJ does not "give a damn" how bad things look and will do things his way however aberrant. You've seen the Otedola-Farouk 'James Bond' saga and you have seen the Orasanye, Allison-Madueke and Ribadu petroleum task force Nollywood drama. This will go the same way with time-wasting and diversionary antics designed to make the public lose interest and move on eventually. |
@OP. We know what ails people like you and your kind. Several Parties merged to form APC and you are talking of ""Nee ACN" while your co-travellers are shouting "Tinubu". Why are you people so one-dimensional in thinking? Can you not even expand the scope of your outlook so that you appear sane and balanced? Please learn to look beyond ACN, Tinubu, Fashola et al especially when factual reality means that a normal person should have no problem doing so. When you talk senselessly as you do here with your "Nee ACN" garbage, it just makes it scarily obvious you guys have an indoctrinated mental block that makes you see only certain people, whether they are involved or not, in relation to everything. I know the 'indoctrination' bothering you guys but could you not make it so obvious as it is becoming nauseating and ruining the user experience for many on this forum? |
nku5: Buhari's too old abeg. I'd rather see fashola/amaechi if he cross carpets to APC or mark/amaechi if he remains in PDPOrdinarily, I would agree with you but these are 'extraordinary' times for Nigeria. Nigeria is now a very aberrant nation where we witness 'madness' not seen anywhere else displayed with brazen aplomb !!! Buhari remains one of the few Nigerians who has the unflinching bravery, integrity and resolute character to dismantle the cesspit of corruption and criminal oligarchy destroying Nigeria. Buhari, anytime and any day, is one of a very few number of Nigerians capable of totally putting AGIPS , cabals, 'interest groups' and ruinous hands out of business so Nigeria can thrive. In fact many will start making plans to head out the minute it is obvious Buhari may become the President. I do not doubt at all that Buhari can drastically change and sanitize the system in 4 years. He can then hand over to a younger protege. That is the quickest template for Nigeria's development for me |
ba7man: Lagos State alone is more economically viable than your region so your opinion on what the Governor thinks is irrelevant.Don't mind the abominable troll. They have no shame coming here daily to do the same irritating thing of never speaking about or holding their own leaders accountable while ranting negatively, 100% of the time, over the States of others and what the leaders of those States are doing. I can't understand their aberrant behavior because, to me, nothing could be more dysfunctional or weird than an obsession with talking negatively about States and leaders I have nothing to do with while I totally ignore the problem of my State/region and her underperforming administrators. |
CFCfan: Some people believe that infrastructural development and socio-economic advancement are mutually exclusiveThe girl, like her fellow trolls here, is highly exasperating to say the least. Shame we all have to put up with their inanity. |
sauer: Why do we intentionally make life so difficult for ourselvesWelcome to being a Nigerian. It is what defines us. Cutting our nose to spite our face, snatching defeat from the jaws of victory and generally frustrating each other. |
ngozievergreen: U give the ppl want they really need not just whatever is right. This Ngozi girl sef ![]() |
Arewa Warrior: Political amateur. Lets see PDP win their states without them. Truth is incumbency factor has never been this vulnerable. The PDP may actually fall this time around. Well be there to give it a very unfit burial. The chess game continues.Thank you. Many here are indeed 'political amateurs' and I blame that on the relative lack of political sophistication of many Nigerians. In so far as democracy remains a game of number then bright, balanced and pragmatic folks do not have to be told the meaning of the PDP losing 7 or more Governors, and lord know how many legislators, to it's number one rival. Does the APC not already have 11 Governors? If this seven or more join the APC then how many does that become and what is the significance of that development for those who are aware that Nigeria has 36 States? Some should ponder that reality before we even begin talking of legislators. |
CFCfan: @ Gbawe: FAAN may have lobbied against the FG collaborating with Lagos for obvious reasons. We are saying the same thing. I.e the parochial mindset, always linked to politics, that frustrates the development of Nigeria. For what the project is, the FG should be pulling out all the stops to make this a reality as soon as possible. Nonetheless, I believe Lagos will achieve this because her admininistrators, since our latest round of democracy began in 1999, fully understand they are on their own' for very obvious reasons. |
CFCfan: The Lagos State government has been the main promoter of the proposed airport to be situated in the Lekki/Epe axis. Here are some facts about the airport:You mean Sir Norman Foster? Impressive. @Topic. A visionary and much needed project in my opinion because of where Lagos sees itself in the near future as a powerful Nation-State and regional hub of commerce and socio-economic development. This project would have moved forward appreciably If only the FG would sincerely throw all its weight behind it. Sad how politics of enmity and egotism ensures Nigeria keeps cutting her nose to spite her face. |
That is the kind of talk that made the POP lose all the states in the southwest. Arrogance will not get anyone anywhere in politics especially if they like the governor
Again, well-said. It really is amazing how emotions ,pettiness and lack of pragmatism condemns some folks to be totally worthless political observers. How can PDP "carry the day" if it does not enjoy a numerical advantage anymore? Will the PDP continue to dominate through abracadabra as some naively and clannishly continue to insist? Your SW analogy has already answered that rhetorical question which the biased and sentimental nature of many Nigerians will never let them appreciate let alone factor into their thinking. |
7 sitting governors who wild influence on their states and can deliver potential voters are excess baggage? I don't know why Nigerians keep forgetting that modern politics is a game of numbers.
Do not mind them. Too many Nigerians running around who are sentiments and bias personified. No political sophistication whatsoever. If the APC gets it act of negotiation together, the Party could even take over the NASS before 2015. This would actually represent a bloodless coup and the establishment of an overnight majority which essentially introduces a paradigm shift in Nigerian politics that knocks out the PDP cold !!! Overall, most contributions here on this forum just reiterate the fact that many Nigerians are 'one way traffic' thinkers lacking the sophistication to appreciate the processes that deliver political success which ultimately shape the future of Nations. |
Sincere 9gerian: The minister of power, Prof Nebo, said the federal govt is battle ready for potential saboteurs of power facilities.Shameless liar and 419 kingpin posing as a "Medical Doctor". Where is the APC mentioned here? This actually reveals your immorality and lack of character. Everyone knows the saboteurs the Power Minister is talking about would be the likes of "diesel King" Otedola and Atiku who owns Mikano which is the largest supplier of generating sets in Nigeria. The majority of those , one way or the other, whose interest run diametrically opposite to the progress of Nigeria are PDP individuals. This is why many hate the Party with a passion !!! Yet you come here twisting the words of others shamelessly all for the sake of your own worthless and cash-induced sycophancy. I now fully believe those who insist you are a paid political hack. "Medical Doctor" my foot !!! More like a jobless sycophants eager to lie disgracefully for crumbs. |
Nigeria should be planning, very aggressively, to diversify its economy away from its current dependence on oil because, this Australian oil discovery aside, several considerations will change the demand for oil drastically in the next decade or so. The electric car that used to be a concept is now a fully-fledged reality with virtually every major motor manufacturer now having a model. Check out the BMW i3 below. https://www.bmw.co.uk/en/topics/discover-bmw/bmw-i/philosophy.html?bmw=1y0aqC210UfEvIDVu84tUGyRmjnBIl&lbmatchtype=e&lbcreative=36123640298&lbnetwork=g&lbkeyword=bmw%20electric%20car |
icon aus: How dare you say that God's chosen one is a mistake ? He is there for reason if not for development , exposure of the North/SW nefarious agenda for the country that will lead to better Nigeria or disintegration of Nigeria it depends on what North/SW want. If you people want peace then stop fighting the president unnecessary and support him to re build our country . The more you fight him the more you isolate your selves .It is not bad enough you are ethnocentric in orientation yet you have to be a religious nutcase as well? God did not choose GEJ. The electorate did and people like you really need to address your extremism and bias. "God chosen one" my foot. No wonder you will defend him to the end of the world and blind yourself to his sheer incompetence. After all, god "chose" him so he can do no wrong in your thinking which is impaired by over-religiosity. |
