IyaIode:Tomorrow you will see the message: "you have successfully uninstalled Misrule-101 version 8.0" ![]() |
SarahBabyxx:Indeed. Yet as good people, on the side of progress for our nation and generations unborn, we must begin the mission to rescue and reposition Nigeria from repairing the damage evil despots and unpatriotic crooks have caused over the past 16 years. We have no other choice. |
See 'baba kekere' baller El-Rufai. Anyway some of the best ballers are small players with low center of gravity like Messi, Edin Hazard, Alexis Sanchez, Raheem Sterling et al. Nothing do you ojare oga El-Rufai. As you mesmerize on the football pitch we believe you will score many victorious Maradona-style goals for Kaduna State also. ![]() |

Nairalanders, check the truth out as I stated earlier by accessing the BBC article below. Buhari will certainly be very busy as it is now crystal clear to the entire world that GEJ and the PDP literally looted Nigeria blind. http://www.bbc.co.uk/news/world-africa-32873349 Nigeria fuel shortage cripples businesses, banks and flights |
Etruth:Oga me thanks for the nice words but all I say here is in aid of a Nigeria where our people are dignified and empowered as all others are worldwide. It is deplorable that Nigeria can literally grind to a halt and be approaching a recession because of the culture of greed and impunity the PDP has created. Entering into formal, organised and transparent arrangement with foreign refineries, to deal with shortfalls in demand for PMS in Nigeria, was always the sensible way forward while we try and increase domestic capacity. Yet the PDP chose, against universal condemnation of this practice, to use fuel marketers and thus introduce avenues of looting and free-for-all fraud that impoverishes Nigeria greatly. I expect Buhari will surprise many. Even the decent among those who supported GEJ passionately will swing behind Buhari in the near future because people often act based on what they know alone i.e PDP incompetence. Buhari will raise the bar immensely and there will be no going back for Nigeria. The defeat of the PDP and Jonathan was our own Nigerian spring and the "common sense revolution" Tinubu talked of. |
djon78:Boss, you can see the idea is not new because me and others here on nairaland, as far back as 2011, have already suggested this as a way forward to defeat fuel subsidy scam, PMS shortage and disparity in price charged for refined derivative of crude. Now ask yourself why such a simple idea, any resolute and pro-people President can implement, was never considered by OBJ, Yar Adua and GEJ as a stop-gap measure to ensure domestic Nigerian needs for refined derivative of crude are met while we work on improving the refining capacity within Nigeria. The more you dig then the more you see that those pretending to be looking for solutions (like GEJ and OBJ) are the very same causing the problems they are financially benefiting vastly from in the background. This deleterious practice was always going to stop once Nigeria gained a President who is not interested in mansions and billions of dollars but prefers to do everything to make Nigerians happy and fulfilled. Using fuel marketers, when far better alternatives are available, is not a tenable option for a pro-people Nigerian President mindful of how Nigerians are suffering horribly while some greedy criminals and associates of government continue to use wheelbarrows to cart money to the bank. |
San2ski:Buhari does not have to act in the interest of Obasanjo. President Buhari should act in the interest of Nigerians always and he will be fine even if he remains cordial with OBJ et al. |
Demburrows:We need many things bro. For example, we need our refineries producing refined derivatives of crude to deal with domestic Nigerian demand and even produce, to augment national income in times of low crude price, surplus refined oil we can sell to gain revenue and even foreign currency. Yet the bottom line is that everything is one step at a time in the right order. First and foremost is to destroy, for good, the stranglehold glorified scammers who call themselves "fuel marketers" are using to choke the life out of Nigeria. We cannot "diversify" anything if the basics are not put in place to underpin the complex. We must never put the Cart before the Horse especially in the case of Nigeria where so many fundamental reforms re required to birth a radical overhaul of 16 years of PDP-led decay. |
homesteady:Simple. GEJ rejected doing the right things always, even when he knew precisely what to do, because this would block the avenues that enables him and his cronies to loot Nigeria. The beginning of the greatness of Nigeria is connected to our nation gaining an immaterialistic, ascetic and highly principled President who will work for Nigerians. One thing most Nigerians do not understand is that the inordinately powerful Nigerian Presidency, if any of us gained control of it today, could turn anyone into a callous and very corrupt man/woman if we are not highly principled and unshakably pro-people to begin with. When you become President the first to approach you will be those who will show you how you can become richer than Bill Gates. Once you listen to these people, as PDP Presidents always do because of the patronage system the Party favours, then you have condemned Nigerians to underdevelopment and greater misery. It is not the case that GEJ "never thought of this". He was shown what must be done but rejected such because using marketers and middlemen opens up a monumental floodgate of scams against Nigerians and the common man that would see Jonathan and his minions become filthy rich. PDP President will thus always embrace the scammers because this gives them an opportunity to become very rich in return also. Yet Nigeria and Nigerians are the victim of this wickedness. The game changes when you then get a President, Buhari, not interested in self-enrichment and will only accept doing what will improve the lives of ordinary Nigerians. This is why some of us rejected GEJ to back Buhari passionately. |
Rawani:Bros, it was always going to be so. If a man is dying and needs oxygen then you must give him oxygen or he dies. As simple as that. Nigeria is in the same situation yet the greed of successive PDP Presidents has meant that nothing has been done to repeal a deleterious practice, literally choking Nigeria to death, and replace it with something a million times better which would deliver so many positive changes, while we try to shore up our domestic refining ability, and save us many billions of dollars a year. Many don't realize that Nigeria is like a severely battered and abused woman who simply needs to do away with her brutal husband (PDP) and replace him with someone who will respect her, be kind to her and work to glorify/uplift her. |
Pangea:Bros, my only regret, from a Nairaland perspective, is that all the very intelligent and analytically-sound Nairalanders have left to be replaced by attention-seeking and anarchic empty barrels who don't know their nose from their azz. These guys have done all these issues to death and analyzed the way forward. I will be 'resurrecting' quotes from the past, from myself and others, that shows we have already discussed and predicted moves a pro-people Nigerian President has no option but to take. Many of us had already stated that Nigeria, a Country of destructive scammers and self-serving saboteurs, will end up in this artificial scarcity 'blackmail' situation with fuel marketers when enemies of Nigeria's progress realize the game is up. They know it is game over with Buhari and the 'underground grapevine' would have informed them that what they fear the most, i.e Nigeria entering into direct dealings with foreign refineries which cuts them the middlemen out, is upon us. These marketers must therefore do their best to get a final 'payday' as the free-for-all they enjoyed for the 16 years the PDP held sway looks to be coming to an end. Some of us know why we supported Buhari passionately. We know he is simply one of the few Nigerians who can deliver the changes that will transform Nigeria immensely for the common man yet hurt the Government affiliated Vultures who believe looting Nigeria at the expense of the populace is their birthright. I have my reasons, many times on this forum, for stating that Buhari could become to Nigeria what Mustafa Kemal Ataturk was to Turkey. Ataturk is called the father of modern Turkey for the reforms and changes he delivered. I am personally backing Buhari to be viewed similarly by the time he is leaving Aso Rock. https://www.nairaland.com/2289351/why-igbo-leaders-visited-buhari/1 Gbawe: |
Pangea:Of course. There is nothing happening today that we have not discussed here exhaustively in the past. The solution has always been known and suggested by many. The problem was getting PDP Presidents interested in these solutions since they are always in place to serve a rapacious political cabal rather than ordinary Nigerians. Nairalanders should read the thread below to see what Buhari wants to do here is what some of us have recognized as a 'must do'. This is another proof, as I argued and as GEJ has proven, that leading Nigeria is not about PHD. It is about the unshakable will to dedicate oneself to doing what is best for Nigerians as some of us believe Buhari will do. We equally predictaed GEJ will fail, to insults from his blind followers, because he did not have this devotion to ordinary Nigerian and the concept he must do what is best for them. Everything GEJ did was to please and abet AGIP, scammers, fraudsters, criminals, militant warlords, militia groups, political jobbers et al. Jonathan opened the floodgate for these rapacious Vultures to loot and plunder Nigeria. This is why fuel marketers are now hoarding oil and callously sabotaging Nigeria toward tipping us into a frenzied recession. They will know levels have changed after May 29. Buhari will not be blackmailed by anyone and he will do what must be done, which is a lot within his power as President and C-in-C, to make Nigeria great for the ordinary Nigerian. https://www.nairaland.com/844492/wikileaks-cabal-members-expose Fuel Subsidy Rip-Offs: Wikileaks Reveals How NNPC Cost Nigeria Billions of Dollars |
Chiaka:Call it whatever you want. It is not today some of us have insisted this and other things, such as drastically cutting governance waste, must be done to rescue Nigeria and transform her from a Nation where the majority of our income is looted by a small rapacious elite and political class into a Country, just like the most successful worldwide, where most of the income of a Nation is used to better the lives of the majority. Continue looking for source. The reality is that these are the measures Buhari must take, especially at a critical time like this, that some of us who love and wish Nigeria well fully expect him to take because he is on the side of ordinary Nigerians. https://www.nairaland.com/1359430/rising-oil-theft-why-tompolo Gbawe: |
Why are you guys surprised at this development? It is what any government that is not corrupt and is genuinely on the side of Nigerians would do. I have said it many times that leading Nigeria is not rocket science. You do not need 4 PHDs to lead Nigeria well. What is required, above everything else, is the fearless will and decency to shun the need for self-aggrandizement and do what is right for the people always and in every sector. This development is not new and even Femi Otedola has given this advice in the past i.e Nigeria should engage directly with foreign refineries to beat fuel subsidy scams, petrol queues and the other deleterious effects of using fuel marketers i.e glorified and unneeded middlemen that PDP Presidents have all kept in place because this helps their individual drive to stuff their pockets and those of their cronies. Nairalanders themselves can see that this idea is not new and many of us have called for its adoption even if the PDP had remained too corrupt to acquiesce. Some of us know why we wanted Buhari passionately and our reasons will become clear to others too very soon. https://www.nairaland.com/2339465/buhari-not-use-oil-marketers SLIDE waxie: Anybody expecting less is actually not a normal nigerian!I have said this here a million times. GEJ is corruption and corruption is GEJ. Is Otedola not in GEJ's economic team? Does he not have the ears of the President directly? How come, as many have pointed out here many times, GEJ has not taken Otedola's advice , shown below, if he is not the same corruption plaguing Nigeria? The man's penchant for "don't give a damn" scams are really a disgrace to Nigeria. Nothing would come more naturally than for a President who is a solution provider to do as Otedola suggests below. I think even a child knows why GEJ is always loathe to take good advice and do what will save Nigeria money, promote accountability, defeat corruption, strengthen our institutions, diminish the enrichment of politicians and their cronies plus optimally boost income accruable to the Nation. Nauseating how this President openly abets corruption and the plundering of his own Nation in a brazen and wanton manner. http://saharareporters.com/news-page/fuel-subsidy-rip-offs-wikileaks-reveals-how-nnpc-cost-nigeria-billions-dollars Fuel Subsidy Rip-Offs: Wikileaks Reveals How NNPC Cost Nigeria Billions of Dollars |
Sweetguy25:Is that not how you 'assured' us that an "illiterate, certificateless cattle-rearer" will never win the 2015 Presidential election? Yet we all know what happened in the end. My friend, members of GEJ's cabinet are not above the law when a strict devotee of the rule of Law (i.e PMB) is involved. Stop disgracing yourself and Nigeria by talking as if some are beyond prosecution and punishment for their wrongful actions in public office . |
Some APC/Buhari supporters never learn. Did these same PDP apologists and TANdroids not make more noise than this over the certificate issue? Did that prevent Buhari winning the election to become President-elect? Folks can interpret the Downing Street picture of Buhari how they want. Will that prevent Buhari leading Nigeria well and cementing good bilateral relations with the UK that GEJ and the PDP can only dream of? This is nothing but the usual noise from PDP losers trying to console themselves with everything they feel they can use to get back at the APC and Buhari. Nigeria has ground to a halt. No fuel, no electricity and no water. Yet some jobless TAdroids and pained Jonathanian losers are busy discussing Buhari standing outside Downing Street. You guys need to get a life because some of you are merely worthless citizens who let leaders get away with treating you like animals while you are too busy discussing irrelevant pictures and 'suffering and smiling' obediently. |
evanscheck:Are you guys not tired of this sad, pathetic and discredited excuse? As leaders bask in the glory of success they must also be held responsible for all that goes wrong under them. Is GEJ selecting the right/wrong caliber of people to work for him not his responsibility entirely for which he must receive praise or damnation respectively if his appointees succeed or fail? Who put those hopeless people in the position to feck up Nigeria horribly? Do you know, as one sad example that indicts Jonathan horribly, how many damning revelations and investigative journalism reports exposed Allison-Madueke as extremely corrupt and destructively irresponsible over the past 4 years? What did GEJ do but shield her at every stage so that the wicked woman could go away unscathed to act with more brazen impunity? The truth is that GEJ supported the stealing, corruption and misrule of his appointees openly. They all glorified in showing Nigeria they were corrupt misrulers and did not "give a damn" what we thought. Please face the truth my friend. It shall set you free. |
abduljabbar4:Better. Let us be careful with words we use publicly even if we have the power of anonymity working in our favour. We have no personal proof GEJ is a drunkard but we can all 100% attest to the fact he is a hideous misruler. Simply one of the worst, if not the worst President/head of State Nigeria has ever know since she became independent. |
This is why I personally stated that GEJ is the last accidental President we will ever have in Nigeria. Many influential kingmakers and stakeholders, to include those who supported GEJ to power in 2011, have seen that OBJ-style imposition is a very dangerous thing for Nigeria as it might propel into the Nigerian Presidency an individual who is not at all fit to be President and may tend to be grossly irresponsible, callous, immoral, self-serving and destructive. This is precisely what happened with GEJ. Had GEJ not lost then we can confidently predict, with all that is coming now and all that will be revealed after May 29, that Nigeria will be worse than Somalia by 2017. It will be very difficult to repair and reposition Nigeria but I believe it can be done if we all brace up for the personal sacrifices to be made. I am simply glad Jonathan is gone and I am confident lessons have been learnt meaning we will never ever see his kind again. A man did not even want the responsibility of owning a 4x4 wood shack yet you insist, against simple logic, on giving him a big, rambling and luxurious mansion. Why then be surprised if he has totally destroyed that mansion in 4 years? Whereas if the mansion had been given to someone who is house-proud and loves every inch of his home to be immaculate then you will probably find the mansion much better off after 4 years in the care of this person. Nigerians, especially the influential kingmakers and leaders, have learnt this lesson. Even painfully in some cases. Jonathan has totally destroyed Nigeria. There is not a single sector that is sound under him. All those who supported him should hang their head in shame. |
@OP. I too expect El-Rufai to transform Kaduna immensely. Whatever anyone thinks of El-Rufai personally, it would be hard to deny that he is a brilliant man and an inspired solutions provider. Those sort always deliver. |
oneeast:What is vindictive about this? Is it about "others like him" or about the Nigerians foreign Countries with valid extradition treaty with Nigeria have formally asked us to hand over to them for prosecution? |
It is 40. All those who said 40 are correct. |
@OP. Take it easy. Conspiracy theories are all good and well but they need to make sense also. I really don't see how Buhari is now at the top of the list of those to be assassinated by "America and her European allies" as you put it. Even indulging your assertion, would Buhari not have to lead and perhaps threaten/oppose their interest directly and irrevocably before it is decided he has to go? Why would they assume Buhari is automatically an enemy who must be assassinated? |
Kasiem2:You guys make me laugh. If better folks talk then I will respond. All I see, from the poster who 'resurrected this post to the last poster above me, are the same set of bitter, frustrated SE/SS haters who denigrate Osun and the SW 24/7, with terms like "dirty" and "poverty-ridden" now pretending to care about Osun. I guess this Jonathan loss has really hit you guys bad to the extent you are now obsessed with Aregbe, Osun and anything to do with the SW. Well, it is only foolish and jobless South-Westerners who will feel they owe you creatures of hate an explanation over the politics of the SW which happens to be the very same region you worthless miscreant hate on 24/7 here on NL. Go and mind your own business and stop acting like vengeful vagabonds all over the place because your messiah lost an election. I don't owe you lowlife an audience same as a black man would not waste his time entertaining racists and white supremacists. |
gwales:Frustrated gibberish actually. I don't think I have ever seen this in my years on earth i.e an election loss inducing mass psychosis in so many at the same time. I wonder how long it will take for the post-election 'fever' afflicting some to abate to a manageable level. |
Truckpusher:Kai this groupie is in severe pain Perhaps I would not feel so important if people like you don't act like groupies with your stalking antics. Get a life and learn to come here and create your own identity instead of following others around like a lost soul and shamelessly pathetic human being. You don't know it but I can tell you that intelligent Nairalanders can tell you are 'sad' and pitiful. A total loser. |
Truckpusher:Mr.Groupie how market today? You need to wait in line behind others. Unfortunately, you are not the only desperate and shameless groupie who comes here seeking the attention of other Nairalanders. ![]() |
gesundheit:Please don't mind the fool and don't take him serious. The impotent fool should first even find a woman to accept his wretched and repulsive self before the 'second-round' worrying of how to get her pregnant. Losers like him only come here to wish evil on themselves when they think they are insulting others who God has blessed abundantly. The tramp and dirty Mongrel is always seeking my attention and following me around. Yet I don't sweat it because I can tell my utterances here leaves him in severe pain daily to the extent he must bark uncouthly and in frustration. He is just another pathetic groupie as far as I am concerned. |
buharisambisada:After this rant, reeking of pain and frustration, do you want to bet that your messiah GEJ will not end up a forgotten and discredited 'has been' like Odili? I am happy to take this bet with you if you are game. You guys are too ignorant and unexposed for your own good and that is why I laugh when you mention UN and all that bollocks. The same folks that bullied GEJ privately to concede defeat and not risk ending up like Laurent Gbagbo are the very same people who quickly showered 'peacemaker' and 'statesman' accolades on him publicly. It is called diplomacy and international relations you simplistic caveman. Such does not mean anyone actually and sincerely rate GEJ or have forgotten his monumental and abysmal misrule that cost many lives and ruined the economy of the biggest black nation on earth. I will leave you to your delusions because you are clearly not up to speed with the 'finesse', patronizing duplicity and double-speak of international diplomacy and crisis mediation. |
Truckpusher:Another 'painment' loser. Pele. No cry you hear. E go better. |
Ama80:What hypocrisy and double standard? "Listened to her" for what ? Can you not see what should be obvious? Why must she be stalking Buhari and then expecting an audience? We do things without consideration in Nigeria but worldwide people don't like their personal space invaded by obtrusive and aggressive people who are trying to cut corners in a desperate and criminal-like manner. She has visited Abdulsalami to help secure an audience with Buhari and now this desperate tactics of getting on a flight with Buhari in hope of talking to him? Buhari will not and should not speak to such a person and if your moral compass is intact then you should be happy that your President-elect is upright and has acted this way instead of indicting him of having an "attitude". Already, because they know the reality of Nigeria, some world leaders are urging Buhari to lead without fear or favor and to sanitize the rot in the NNPC which goes to the core of Nigeria's main income and how such was squandered by the likes of Allison-Madueke with no benefit accruing to ordinary Nigerians. Allison-Madueke et al should wait for Buhari to be sworn in and defend themselves officially instead of running helter-skelter shamefully in hope of a soft landing. |
