PoliticsRe: Speaker: South West Is Asking For Too Much — Dansadau by Gbawe: 1:03pm On May 13, 2015
edogirl2:
The whole thing just defies logic.

A senior Northern politician says publicly that giving the Senate Presidency and HoR speakership to 2 northern regions which have not always voted in unison with the feudal core north will help the entire north to unite for long term domination of the political space, and we have SE and SS representatives lining up to endorse this position?

O ma se o
Right about now, they will even endorse Satan and his evil army taking over Nigeria if they can be promised that the Yorubas will suffer the most. As I have said before, the SE and SS should be careful going public with their hatred and resentment of the SW. They will be the long term losers of such a strategy of hate when the SW wake up to and begin to deliberately address this unrequited hatred from those we are nothing but hospitable and accommodating towards.

We will see who will lose out in the end. All the SW did was the responsible thing by voting out a misruler who was destroying Nigeria even as we must inform some hateful element that said misrulers still garnered healthy votes in the SW while they gave Buhari and the APC virtually nothing. If some ethnic jingoists and bigots now want to fight the SW for taking making electoral choices we are free to make, when they even gave the misruling GEJ virtually 100% figures, then I say bring it on !!! In life, It is pointless trying to pacify unreasonable people who operate with minds totally destroyed by hate. I therefore implore the bigots to do their worst.

Don't bother. If some want to spend the next four years as 'prisoners' of their obsessive desires to "pay back" the SW with political treachery then they can be my guest. They only succeed harming themselves when they do this. Imagine stalking someone who is getting on with his life and moving forward daily. Is it not you the stalker whose life will stagnate and suffer? You watch someone having a bath yet you have not washed for three days because you are too busy stalking and focusing on others while you have totally neglected yourslef !!! Let some use their political offices for settling scores if they want. I would rather hold my political leaders accountable and implore them to deliver for Nigeria.

As one example, Fashola stated that Lagos could be entirely and 100% self-sufficient in power production if the State is completely enabled and supported by the FG to deliver this. Now that the FG is controlled by the APC we will expect the 'support' Fashola is talking about to be forthcoming and no Senate President or Speaker can stop that. Lagos is my State and that kind of announcement is what gets me personally excited not backward and retrogressive talks, in this day and age of ideas and innovation, about the ethnic group of the speaker.

What did Dimeji Bankole do for the Yorubas or indeed Nigeria? An issue like adequate power supply, one of the main driving force behind the development of Nigeria, is what I will look out for and not whether a Yoruba becomes speaker or not. Adequate power supply=proliferation of SMEs= rapid development of Nigeria because the SME (small to medium enterprise) is the economic 'lifeblood' of virtually all developed nations of the world through its contribution of taxes, jobs et al. Those are the issues I personally focus on and will be tasking the APC to concentrate on. Leave haters to focus on revenge and vendetta that is always to their own detriment.

Ok hold on, what tinubu did is to position the SW to return to main politics in Nigeria, remember what Jonathan did to OBJ the moment he got power. He went on to remove all Yorubas in the MDGs and he even appointed an Edo man with Yoruba name as trade minister at the same time claiming the slot is for SW.

After four years with no single project in the SW , he came to recommission a project OBJ commissioned in 2007.

Personally, I know what Stella Oduah did in aviation sector where she sacked most Yoruba head and she replaced them with Igbos and this was limited to the aviation sector but all sectors

If you live in Osun state, I guess you have your reasons for disliking APC, but that would stop you from being a Yoruba. Ironically if you ever meet these people in public office, they wouldn't ask you if you hate APC or like Apc. you are Yoruba and that's all they need to know.

A time will come you will realize Nigeria is not a nation.

shallom
I will advise you watch as things play out before believing any news put in the public domain. What did we not hear about how the SW would vote before the elections? How about all the permutations of GEJ sweeping North central before the elections? If anything, these election should have shown all of us that anyone can say anything they want yet it does not mean such would happen.

Democracy remains a game of numbers and of winning strategy not emotions and a perpetual lust for vendetta that clouds judgement and reasoning. Some are prone to revealing their hand and intentions early yet this means absolutely nothing. It is better to observe, refrain from commenting prematurely and be 'entertained'.
PoliticsRe: South Westerners Getting Used And About To Be Dumped. by Gbawe: 10:48am On May 13, 2015
@OP.

Shame on you. There is no contribution where you inspect what is important i.e what the Presidency of Buhari portends for the socio-economic development of Nigeria. All you are concerned about, as the hateful hag you are, is the erot1c lust to see the Yorubas "used and about to be dumped". You will never understand the Yoruba mindset and what motivates us. The average Yoruba is more excited to gain adequate power supply, as obtains worldwide, than obsess about his kinsman becoming VP or Senate President. It is not braggadocio but the Yorubas do not lag behind others in political sophistication. It is not about 'big position' and material wealth alone for us unless those advance the development of society. This is why a backward and hateful fool like you cannot understand that you are so 'yesterday' in thinking we are all about political positions'

While you are personally still in the 'stone ages' as far as politics is concerned and must continue to talk of "used and dumped" it is now obvious to the Yorubas that development we can see and feel, and that change of government cannot overturn, is all that matters. That is what we are silently, strategically and effectively working for while you are still chasing primordial "chop sand" 1diocy that will get you nowhere. Buhari is a 'kindred spirit' who understands what politics should be used for and he will let you enemies of progress down 100% as he will be guided by the commitment to do what is right for Nigeria and all Nigerians.

Yorubas have had a period when we produced the President (OBJ) and speaker (Dimeji Bankole) yet what were the gains for the Yorubas and indeed Nigerians? While you are a wicked, hateful and vile diasporan who malevolently wants politics to assist her get vengeance against the Yorubas, I simply want politics to deliver constant electricity, adequate transport choices, security of lives and property et al so that when I leave Heathrow and land in Lagos I don't feel like crying because I am overwhelmed by how backwards Nigeria is and how horribly Nigerians, my people, are suffering.

do you know the irony of it all? The 4 biggest Igbo bigots on Nairaland are all based in US:

Babyosisi
Biafranqueen
OneNaira
Ikengawo

They come to nairaland and promote hatred among ethnic groups from the comfort of their homes in America.

God will visit them soon for promoting hatred on Nairaland.
It really is sad that while most of us in the diaspora try to contribute positively to the development of Nigeria in our own little ways, because we are motivated by the dream that Nigerians back home will enjoy what we take for granted, the bigots you mentioned can only export the most shameful thing about their diasporan base of the USA which is prejudice and discrimination against others on account of creed, race, ethnicity et al. They have seen the huge damage discrimination and racial profiling does in the USA yet they deliberately want to promote similar in Nigeria. Truly vile human beings with minds destroyed by hatred. Non of those bigots you mentioned have ever started a positive thread about socio-economic development of Nigeria. All they contribute are divisive and discriminatory opinions designed to polarize Nigerians and whip up the sort of ethnic disaffection that caused the regrettable civil war.

There are so many positives Nigerians in the diaspora can contribute to Nigeria yet prejudice and the promotion of ethnic disharmony should not be part of that because we should, from personal experience, realize that prejudice has no part to play in the development of modern and progressive society.

Those 4 shameless bigots keep opening meaningless thread and wont let us rest. If problem awaits SW, whats there own. Why worried and crying more than the bereaved. We all know hoesisi is always hating cos of her miserable life but this albino of a thing called biafraqueen Aka 9jagirl4real is one shameless bigot that derive pleasure in preaching hate. Someone that need deliverance from the clutch of the babalawo in her house. Na wao
They are vile and hateful human beings. Even more tragic is the revelation that they all live in the USA. This confirms my constant argument that the hateful indoctrination that has blighted the outlook of these scumbags began in the wombs of their mothers. This is why they are only able to peddle messages of hate and ethnic disharmony when they live in a prosperous and developed nation where things work as they should. Most diasporans I know, when they talk of Nigeria, are the voices of reason, unity, tolerance and progressive pursuit because they want Nigerians in Nigeria to enjoy what they have come to take for granted.

Now, imagine the level of hate that must motivate these bigots who live in the USA yet can only preach the promotion of prejudice and hate against Yorubas in Nigeria. One would think the racism they will surely have experienced will put them off discriminating against others for good. Yet such is their hatred for all things Yoruba that they have turned the loss of GEJ, a hideous misruler that deserves to be voted out , into another civil war "chop sand" saga they must avenge by all means possible to include peddling hate and vengeance openly against Yorubas.

Sadly for them, most yorubas don't have time for them. Give us development and we are okay. Let others stay in one position chasing their own tail all day long, 24/7 and 365 days a year because of mindless hate that will never get them anywhere.

OP stop disgracing yourself and quit your cheap propaganda of hatred. Every day on Nairaland you keep sowing the seed of hate. One thing that is common for for all the fanatics like you who are promoting separation is a chronic deep-seated hate. Go to Biafra Radio and hear the bile they are planting in Aligbo.

I will never share an enclose small space with a group so wicked in their hearts. Over 90% of your posts on NL is insults, hate and anger. Noting about peace love, unity and progress of our nation - just bigotry and chest beating.

Good of you bro. This is too much. Some lost an election and their tactics is now a 'Guerilla war' of lies and ethnic propaganda against the Yorubas. They are indeed very "wicked" in their heart. There is nothing about the development of Nigeria in their heart. They are not concerned about the socio-economic development of our Nation.

All that motivates them is a lust for ethnic vengeance over an election they lost legitimately. The sad thing is that it is mass functional illiteracy on Nairaland that makes it nigh impossible to shut down these ethnic jingoists. I can spot their lies from miles away because such is always delivered with idiocy meant to delude idiots alone. Some folks should make it their morning 'homework' to find out who Shamsudeen Usman is to note how foolish and easily scammed they are. It is like the saying "a fool and his money are soon parted".

Nairalanders make me laugh. Anyone can come here and peddle an entirely fake stories that will then get discussed for 50 pages by members of this forum with no one having the critical intelligence to see what is obvious. Who da hell is "a high ranking APC leader from Kano, Alhaji Shamsudeen Usman" ?

Should you guys not seek to verify the existence of a "High ranking APC leader" called Alhaji Shamsudeen Usman before even responding to what is obviously mischief from someone looking to whip up ethnic sentiments? This is how hateful mischief-makers will cause a Rwanda and lead you all to your deaths !!! Those who voted for GEJ and PDP along ethnic lines and lost, like the vile OP, are determined to cause ethnic strife daily and their modus operandi is to attribute ethnically incendiary utterances to prominent Nigerians.

This is how they lied against Wole Soyinka and a few sensible Nairalanderss warned against attacking Uncle Wole over what some mischief-maker claim the Prof said because any averagely intelligent and balanced person will know Soyinka could not have said such. This is becoming tedious and disgraceful to Nigeria. The irony is that those behind these vile tactics will not stop because they know most posters here do not have the ability to think critically and effectively thus making them susceptible to falling for even the most outlandish garbage anyone can think of.

Pray for "the subjugation by the north of the southwest" all you want yet the rest of us normal and balanced Nigerians, regardless of your malevolent and divisive wishes for us, will continue backing Buhari, Osinbajo and the competent Nigerian team the APC government convenes to move Nigeria into an age of socio-economic greatness. That is all that matters for patriotic Nigerians who love their nation. What obtained under GEJ was not good enough . Normal, balanced and ambitious Nigerians deserve 'change'. I'm with you on this. As long Nigeria is still a country, Buhari will rule and even if he dies in office, I'm 100% sure SS and SE leaders will assist North in replacing him with another northern; osinbade will be just the VP, nothing more, nothing less. The north will forever remain leaders after all that's what SW wants.

This past election opened so many people's eyes. Infact, I think it's a blessing the way this past election went through.
I don't know whether to laugh or cry for people like you. You don't mind confessing that your view of Nigerian politics today, post the very much deserved loss of GEJ, is driven solely by a vengeful desire to frustrate and undermine the Yorubas? "Nothing more, nothing less"? Tragic. The development of Nigeria, that the Buhari Presidency may deliver, is clearly not your concern. As long as the Yorubas are made to "chop sand" you are okay for Nigeria to burn.

I would even find all this amusing if so many Igbos have not made precisely this vendetta-driven statement against the Yorubas over an election where the SW, as entitled to do, voted out a hideous misruler they had helped to install as President 4 years ago with their votes . You guys need to be really careful. You are the only ones who will lose out over this insistence on going public with your hatred of the Yorubas and your desire to work against them regardless of whether your lust for vengeance furthers the pursuit of good governance or not.

I don't even know what to say to creatures of mindless hate like you. This is simply too much. You need to get a life and be happy. You are mentally disturbed yet you don't know it because only lunatics will hold a grudge against people who made independent electoral choice, as entitled, and voted out a misruler on course to leading Nigeria to collapse completely. Perhaps that is what your kind want anyway. Yet you should know Yorubas are different and I must ask, when will it sink into your hateful heads that what people of the SW want, above everything else, is socio-economic development that will move Nigeria closer to becoming a developed nation while you continue to obsess about Osinbajo and the Yorubas "chopping sand"? The song from Peter Tosh below is for hateful hypocrites like you who don't understand that "if you live in a glass house don't throw stones, if you can't take blows don't throw blows". Live your life plotting the political/electoral downfall of the Yorubas. We don't give a feck. We will continue chasing what matters to us most which is the democratic and socio-economic development of Nigeria.

Jonathan knew VP is silent hence (though his VP is a northerner) he still gave the northerners other key positions to carry them along.

But SW is here having orgasm over VP and don't care if the north keeps the remaining positions. Smh
You guys don't get it and will probably never get it because you are motivated by "chop sand syndrome" and the vendetta-driven hatred of others that leaves you viewing politics as a tool of vengeance instead of activities associated with governance that delivers socio-economic development for a people.

Trust me when I say the Yorubas supported Buhari specifically because of what we feel he will make of the power he wields as President, after the SW gave GEJ a chance, and not because the expectation of political reward is uppermost in our mind. I know this is difficult for you to believe because you have been indoctrinated to always cast Yorubas as the "bogey men" who are up to no good. It is about time you grow up and reject the lies you are have been told about the Yorubas. Even Buhari called the SW the "home of democracy" ,after he thanked the region warmly for helping him win, because the truth most can accept is that the SW has paid its dues in the fight for democracy and the good governance of Nigeria. Let Buhari lead us well into an age of development and prosperity and this will be just reward for the efforts of the Yorubas to strengthen democracy and support good governance.

What I find amazing is that you guys are so focused on the ancient 'pass-me-down' hatred that dominates your life you cannot even see how the new generation of Yoruba leaders are thinking and planning. You only need to sit somewhere and think productively to note that the things that will make Nigeria a developed nation has everything to do with good governance and nothing to do with our kinsman being VP or Speaker. It is always about the right calibre of person being President, VP, Senate President, speaker et al otherwise those influential positions are totally useless to Nigeria and Nigerians. The Yorubas realize this yet when will you stop hating to see and face what is most important?

The gullible GEJ too then naively went around making ethnocentric and crudely partisan statement all true leaders will be ashamed of. Now that you have destroyed GEJ you wish to do same with Buhari without realizing that GEJ and Buhari are totally different leaders. Its nice to hear that states are not being owed allocations. @OP, I think Osun annual allocation is closer to N25B than N50B.
This is why the states must go beyond sharing of funds to people and start getting involved in industrial developments. Imagine if Osun had replicated the idea of Omoluabi Garment Factory the funds he wasted on Oyes, Feeding, OponImo and many other exorbitant expenses like ghost workers and political office holders salaries. The ultimate will be industries, even if it means creating small industrial hubs and powering them with diesel plants of 500 MW or more. Aregbe could have gone further to establish farms and food processing factories to compliment what's available in Osun state already.
I think it is high time the FG makes power generation flexible and allow more financially flboyant states like Delta, Rivers, Bayelsa, Akwa Ibom and co start firing power plants.
Look, don't believe the OP. He is one of those happy to work himself into a frenzy over "dem say dem say" gossip likely the work of mischief-makers. Same way some of us commonsensically insisted Soyinka could not have spewed all that ethnocentric bile against the Igbos is how any adult can deduce that Buhari would be unfit and unwilling to make any official statement , in favour of either the FG or State governors, about allocation to Nigerian States.

The fact is that Buhari is not officially part of the Government yet whereas the likes of Aregbesola are. In all the interviews Buhari has given so far he has made it clear he will always 'confer' with his Party and will only comment after being aware of all relevant information. It therefore makes no sense for Buhari to speak when he is officially in no position to comment on an issue as delicate as allocation to States of Nigeria. Disregard the OP and his kind. We must remember that they accused Buhari of running a "parallel Government" merely because he was receiving guests in Abuja. What will then be made of Buhari talking about allocation to States which happens to be information he should not be privy to yet let alone be commenting on?

Assuming even Okonjo-Iweala took the 'information' to Buhari personally, then what manner of President-elect would Buhari be if naively willing to comment on anything provided to him by the ultra-corrupt outgoing Government when he can simply wait till after May 29 to verify whatever information he has received and gauge reality for himself?

@Topic.

There is so much gossip and fabrications flying around these days and I would urge Nairalanders to take the revelations of this article with a pinch of salt. Yes it indeed sounds like the sort of thing Buhari would do given his innate character and desire to deliver progress for Nigeria through the usage of competent men and women.

Nonetheless, all those who fought valiantly and risked much to make Buhari President cannot suddenly become enemies he will hound, disrespect and alienate. I personally think Buhari will adopt the 'middle ground' strategy of welcoming and inspecting the nominees of APC Governors with no obligation to hire any but with a promise to look at their CV thoroughly and impartially. If they are indeed the most suitable then Buhari can work with them otherwise he is free to reject them. Nigerians may naturally hate the influence of governors but this does not mean we disregard the fact that some of them do indeed know the finest and most talented brains Nigeria has to offer. Buhari does not and cannot know it all. He should therefore welcome input from all and try, as much as possible, to run a solution-driven government where ideas and brainstorming rules.

Well-said. The Northern elite class are part of those that have vehemently opposed the ambition of Buhari the most because they know he will certainly end 'business as usual' for them. I laugh when some bitter and hateful folks begin talking of "born to rule North" will now "deal" with Tinubu, Amaechi, Rochas et al. They think Buhari will now suddenly begin siding with and doing the bidding of the likes of Ciroma et al merely because they are all Northerners.

These hateful "fulani/Hausa will deal with Tinubu et al" brigade do not realize that Buhari is not part of the "born to rule" class. Those sort hanker for power to drive $500,000.00 Bugattis in the midst of grinding poverty. Buhari wants power so he can uplift and dignify the 'talakawas'. It is his own fellow Northerners , many with 'closed' mindset of anti-people tyranny, Buhari will deal with the most because Buhari will understand that the fight to 'liberate' the North must be an uncompromising one.

The North, more than any other region, typifies the perception of Nigeria as a nation where a few luxuriate in garish opulence while majority deal with excruciating poverty. Buhari will not be unaware of this and what he must do to begin giving the ordinary Northerners "teach a man to fish" opportunities. These people view Buhari as god and believe in him so much. If Buhari is to deliver for them then he will surely know what he has to do and I think he does. It will be "shape up or ship out" for many in the North under Buhari. All political leaders who are pro-people, whether in the North, SW, SE or SS, have nothing to fear from Buhari.

You can't have your cake and eat it. Buhari can't reward Tinubu, Amaechi, etc and still maintain integrity. He must choose one.
Buhari can "reward" Tinubu, Amaechi et al and retain his integrity. It is about others stepping up to Buhari's level to then ensure they only approach him with their nominees if those can pass Buhari's thorough tests of integrity, dedication to service and ability. Buhari accepted Tinubu's choice of Osinbajo as his VP because the General realized that Osinbajo is a meritorious asset to his Presidency and a superb deputy.

Tinubu, Amaechi, Okorocha et al know the character of GMB before they swung behind him fully and uncompromisingly. Anyone who thinks those men are about 'business as usual' is simply not reading the mood of the nation to note that even politicians want change and are fed up of Nigeria as currently constituted. If Tinubu, Amaechi and others approach GMB with the names of competent technocrats, leaders and proven achievers, as I am sure they would do anyway, then Buhari would certainly be happy to work with their nominees.

I have no time for discredited charlatans and empty chest-beaters. Run along and play with other e-tw1ts and empty e-braggarts because they are the only ones who will take you seriously these days.

Fool! You promised to take your oyel if we ever elect GMB, now GMB has been elected, when are you taking your oyel.
Idiot grin
Don't mind that empty noise-maker and coward. After all his empty brag of "No GEJ no ND oil" he is now disgraced and discredited today. I am 100% convinced him and others like him are losers/weaklings and frustrated elements in real life who have zilch and must come online to form 'tough guy'.

I would have silently withdrawn from NL if I was him. The ND militants he swore on before the elections have all been rushing to back Buhari. What confirms that these guys are street-level urchins, losers and nonentities, despite their empty chest-beating, more than the fact that they don't know their leaders and continue to brag egotistically while those they think will fight for them are now totally fat and materialistic rich men only concerned with adding to their wealth? Frustrated losers. They will continue to remain here in frustration while their own self-appointed enemies (Tinubu, Yorubas, South-West, North et al) continue to make progress.

Tinubu is not a noise maker,

He hand picked the vice

He hand picked 3 members of the transition committe.

He is going to hand pick 3 ministers soon.

The fulani and hausa man knows he cannot do without Tinubu. Even his people here in the north like Tinubu. An aboki is on his way to Lagos to thank Tinubu.

See I know you will love to see the merger fail, you may even be having orgasm from the thought. But it is not going to happen.

Keep wishing,

We will keep doing.
Bro, let them continue to erot1cise and daydream. That is what these sentimental people do because their bitter, hateful and ethnocentric nature means they will always embrace politics of enmity and hate. These sort can never be found talking productively in favour of developmental politics. Once some names they are ethnically opposed to are involved then their ability to reason productively and logically melts like butter under the hot Sun. Their thinking and utterances will forever be driven by their hateful, ethnocentric and vendetta-driven outlook. You are wasting your time attempting to give serious and intelligent responses to the hate-driven gibberish they write.

True, it's very normal to hate what you don't have and can't get.
They exudes so much hatred that you begin to wonder how they sleep at nights.
Believe me, that is their main problem. Add to this the fact that Tinubu is from the ethnic group they are indoctrinated from the womb to hate and you can understand their entirely intrusive and inappropriate obsession with seeing the "downfall" of a man who does not impact their lives directly while they say nothing about their kinsmen directly misruling and destroying them. Otherwise what is their obsession with Tinubu about? Is he the only politician in Nigeria? Why wish him bad everyday?

Imagine the Abian coming here to wish evil upon Tinubu daily yet saying nothing about the worthless Theodore Orji who destroyed Abia for 8 years and is now gleefully on his way to the Senate? That is what primordial and indoctrinated hate can do. That sort of hate is different to that me, you and normal folks feel that makes us resent those who do us wrong directly. This is why a racist child brought up in a household of racial hatred finds it very easy to hate black folks he has never met mindlessly yet he is likely indifferent to the Uncle who assaults him daily. These guys are sick I tell you.

Utter nonsense, chai! Some people just lack decency !
That plus the fact that they are too sentimental, hateful and bitter to ever reason effectively. From how they spend all their time here daydreaming obsessively about the worst happening to Tinubu, one can see that these guys are all hateful elements who are totally incapable of adding intellectual value to any discussion about politics.

Do we not remember when these same emotional and hateful mofos claimed that Modu Sheriff "slapped" Tinubu and, according to them, this signify that the North had wrestled the APC fom Tinubu and relegated him to the background? What is the reality today? Sheriff is a total nobody, dismissed from the APC for his unruliness, while Tinubu went on to directly to make his choice the VP of Nigeria and succeeded to retain all APC-controlled States.

The truth is that these losers wish they had their own Tinubu yet they are destined never to have one because of their divisive, ethnocentric, vendetta-driven and hateful approach to politics. They are thus condemned to ranting online 24/7 about Tinubu's "downfall", as they have done for many years now, while the man continues to thrive as one of the main defining elements of Nigeria's modern democracy.
