9jatriot:The first is a model and the second real and ongoing construction of the sort of model depicted in the rendering. Point is that the project may be delayed but it is 100% under construction with real bricks and mortars Lagosians can see. A laudable, exemplary and superlative project any progressive Nigerian should praise yet we know haters will always hate. |
Redoil:Stay here hating and insulting others while work is ongoing, according to plan, to deliver this project. There is nothing wrong with projects being delayed if valid reasons exist for late project completion. That scenario of project delay cannot compare with the PDP example where billions are allocated with zilch on the ground. At least with the Lagos light rail we can see real construction matching the plans we have all marvelled over in the past. specco:My friend, is it a good precedence for a President of a sovereign nation to be empowering armed and gun-totting militia groups? Answer yes or no and spare us your sentimental and childish focus on others when they are saying nothing but the undiluted truth emotional folks like you cannot accept. Nobody is arguing against the existence of OPC but you are childish if you cannot confront the fact that it is completely wrong and condemnable , for many reasons, for GEJ to be giving them formal government security contracts. I can't help you if can't rise above sentiments to see what is obvious. |
IyaIode:Don't mind them. If the APC, that just masterminded the electoral decimation and emasculation of the ruling Party, can be described a "divided empire" then what do we call the turmoil-stricken and extremely disunited PDP? |
AhmedMustapha:Don't mind him. We have a police force in dire need of reform and modernisation to poition it close to the level of other efficient police forces worldwide, capable of protecting lives and property adequately, yet some backward Nigerians can still speak in defence of a President who believes in empowering drug-addict killers and jobless anarchists with no formal training or discipline to carry out the very important duties undeservingly handed over to them. This is what led to the death of this pregnant young lady. I don't know why supporters of Jonathan are so evil, clannish and irresponsibly amoral. The article makes it clear GEJ abetted the death of this lady with his reprehensible and condemnable action no other leaders worldwide would ever identify with. Why on earth should pipeline protection contract, for the seventh biggest producer of crude in the world, be handed out to a rag-tag, untrained and indisciplined militia group? Which leader worldwide have Nigerians seen doing this before some of our people begin speaking in defence of GEJ over this nonsense? I am personally happy Buhari won because GEJ would surely have gone on to transform Nigeria into Somalia where illiterate killers, anarchists and fundamentalists thugs rape and murder professors and judges. Nonsense. “President Jonathan’s hands are soiled by the |
specco:My friend, have you ever set foot outside Nigeria? Why do you guys insist on disgracing your nation like this? Where in the organised and developed world, and excluding failed nations, do you see political leaders openly and formally abetting the growth and relevance of militia groups? Other leaders, i.e real leaders who know what they are doing and are leading in the interest of society, work to create environment where militia groups are outlawed and unneeded. Still, one can always expect to come to Nairaland to read absolutely backward hogwash from folks who have no inkling of what life is like in civilised climes. Why not even advocate that Nigeria become like Somalia where drug-addicted killers, rapists, anarchists and serial killers control society? I don't know why it is so hard for you guys to understand that GEJ is correctly criticised for his self-serving actions other leaders will never be found guilty of since such endangers society and moves nations towards failing. Leaders worldwide work to create professional, efficient, well-regulated and modern armed forces yet you are here speaking in favour of a President happy to arm lawless killers, drug addicts and anarchic miscreants. You guys are simply shameless and nauseatingly clannish. |
raumdeuter:This is my belief too because "karma is a b1t.ch". Jonathan is no better than Odili who birthed militancy by arming young, impressionable and jobless Niger Deltans to begin killing others and themselves for his own political gain. Boko Haram too became a potent force because of callous politicians sponsoring jobless and disillusioned miscreants who were happy to make themselves a menace to society. This is another sordid indictment of just how terrible, callous and wicked a President GEJ is. He should be aggressively seeking the development of those he leads, through job creation and education, yet he is happy encouraging the growth of youth thuggery and menace that threatens the well-being of society. Below is an image of the sort of youth GEJ believes he must empower to cower society. Why will Obankoro and Fayose, under GEJ, not be encouraged to be bullying a high-ranking Nigerian soldier as if he is their gate man as revealed by the ekitigate recording. I still feel strongly that GEJ will know no peace or enduring happiness for the horrible damage he has done to Nigeria. https://gist.ng/wp-content/uploads/2015/03/380.jpg |
Jonathan will forever remain on the negative side of history because of actions like these. While other leaders worldwide work to create modern, well-trained, disciplined and efficient security forces who understand the vitally important role of protecting society, our own President was busy empowering extrajudicial killers, lawless militia groups, militant warlords, assassins, armed robbers and all sorts of miscreants and menaces to society. All for the sake of retaining a position he has never used to the benefit of the common man. Responsible leaders are trying, worldwide, to suffocate the growth of militia groups, so that only vetted professionals and institutions address the security needs of a nation, yet our own aberrant President did his best to empower lawless killers and thugs. I pray Nigeria never witnesses another like GEJ. Our nation has a lot of healing to do after the damage GEJ and other PDP Presidents before him have done. “President Jonathan’s hands are soiled by the |
samueld0:Because private jets don't usually display any commercial branding logos/colours as profit-making airlines have to do to stand out and be distinct. |
ukemeramat:Thank you. What did Nigerians vote Buhari for if not for him to initiate sweeping reforms that will reverse the damage the PDP has done everywhere for 16 years? Did Nigerians vote Buhari to tolerate or continue with the horrid status quo? I was personally nauseated by the antics of the Nigerian Army under GEJ. So called Professional soldiers became mercenaries for hire and self-aggrandizing looters because of the culture of greed and wanton dereliction of duty the PDP had created. The worst was the Captain.Koli leaked Ekitigate tape where Obanikoro and Fayose et al were bullying and intimidating a professional soldier of high rank. God will punish these Tandroids and Jonathanians who find it difficult to wish Buhari well and come here in bitterness everyday. I have always said it that Nigerians are the biggest enemies of Nigeria. Nigeria needs to be reformed from top to bottom. All well-meaning Nigerians must give Buhari their support to do this. The biggest losers will always be ordinary people when political leadership fails. Some bitter and hateful people should remember this. |
owobokiri:Joker. No one organised a coup even when GEJ misruled Nigeria horribly and almost succeeded in turning our nation into Afghanistan. Yet you now suggest a coup to thwart an incoming President ready to birth the needed changes your failed messiah rejected and worked against. There will be no coup now and Buhari will come in to 'cleanse the Augean stables' whether ethnocentric bigots like you want this much-needed change or not. Nigeria cannot continue to be at the mercy of wicked, hateful and confused people like you who proudly wallow in poverty and are ready to continue with stone-age living conditions even neighbouring West African nations have long moved beyond simply because you hate the idea 'a.bok1' and 'Yoloba' will lead Nigeria into prosperity where your kinsman your were ethnically devoted failed horribly. If a decent and 'well-calibrated' human being, you should simply focus on the good leadership of Nigeria regardless of the ethnic group of the individuals who can deliver such. Remain in your bitter, self-destructive and aberrant corner all you want. The rest of us who are normal simply want stable and reliable electricity, optimal healthcare, reduction of nation-destroying corruption, good transport infrastructure, high quality education, Jobs. growth of the all-important SME sector, decent security of lives and property, prosperity, a respected nation with good relationship with others and all-round socio-economic development. This is why Nigerians voted out the misruling GEJ and gave their majority mandate to Buhari. Control the hate in your wicked soul or watch as it destroys you. |
Shwarz:Thank you !!! I don't get these 'suffering and smiling' elements who are nothing but an aberration and a disgrace to Nigerian. Imagine a Ghanaians or Cameroonian reading Nairaland to note Nigerians themselves bitterly speaking against and resisting positive changes that they and their generations unborn will be the biggest beneficiaries of. It is truly troubling and I cringe at what Nigerians come here daily to write out of ethno-religious bitterness and hatred their fellow Nigerians. I must confess, as a well-travelled and well-exposed person, that I have never come across the level of 'cut your nose to spite your face" lunacy Nigerians display. Simply incredible !!!! Imagine telling a rape victim that you intend to lock their assailant up for a long time only for the same victim to begin openly supporting their own rapists and then cursing you for suggesting that the perpetrator of such heinous crime be prosecuted and punished. Some Nigerians simply don't understand how mentally 'troubled' they are. |
blackfase:Very wicked and vindictive chap who has no business at all being a leader. May Nigeria never see his kind again in powerful leadership positions. Amen. |
blackfase:Indeed they are. Amazing when you consider that these are the same people starved of electricity, decent infrastructure, jobs, adequate healthcare, motorable roads, good security et al that others take for granted worldwide. GEJ did not improve even a single one of Nigeria's most major problems and only enemies of Nigeria's progress would want him to remain in charge. Time to see what Buhari and the APC can do . PDP has been in charge of the centre for 16 years. That is enough. I say good riddance to bad rubbish. |
omenka:Bruv, I have no time for mouthy and attention-seeking kids with the intellectual capacity of gnats. |
wealth123:Please don't mind them. Which serious person comments seriously on rumours and gossip? |
NgeneUkwenu:The snake charmer has relocated to the jungle permanently to live with his snakes and reptiles. All these Tandroid charlatans sef. Grade A mumus the lot of them. They will not go out and look for a job but must instead come here to disturb us with their half-baked analysis and 'predictions' which are always discredited and disgraced in the end. Yeye people. |
Tomibyte:This is the key and I believe Buhari and Osinbajo will work to introduce reforms that will aid transparency, accountability and efficiency of Nigeria's oil sector. Not too difficult to do if the Government is focused on working for Nigerians and not for a gang of glorified and self-serving crooks posing as 'political leaders'. |
omenka:Abeg, don't mind those hateful losers. It is right before their eyes the APC will bring transparency and efficiency to our oil sector. Needless to say that the PDP, for the past 16 years, ran the oil sector like a private slush fund for their members. This is why Nigeria has not really benefited from the huge income the oil sector has contributed to our coffers since 1999. |
Lizabeth25:That is the best attitude at this stage because many, for their own personal gain, will put so many 'lists' and rumours of inclusion/exclusion out there. Waste of time responding seriously. |
Freemanan:Smart man. Anyone can engage in scaremongering with the Tinubu name to promote their blog, sell newspaper or even boost personal popularity. It is up to commentators here to show maturity and common sense when responding to what is unfounded and speculative at best. |
I don't know why folks here like working themselves up over fiction. This article and its submission is rubbish. Complete rubbish. Fashola and Fayemi are Ministers-in-waiting unless either decline the positions given them and I don't see that happening. |
Sunnybobo3:My friend, is Lagos not even one of the most literate States from the source you supplied? In real terms, given that the State is under-counted by over ten million individuals, Lagos is the most literate State in my opinion because of its 'stock' of educated and skilled workforce avble to vote in the State yet not necessarily born and educated in Lagos. For the purpose of your dumb argument, and in relation to politics, the voting class in Lagos is one of the most literate if not the most literate in Nigeria. We are not talking secondary School statistic which does not create the true picture of educated adult of voting age in a state with substantial amount of educated migrants trooping in from all over Nigeria daily to then be permanently domiciled in Lagos. Furthermore, does the evidence you provide not show all the SW States Buhari won to be some of the most literate in Nigeria? Where do you then get your garbage from that Buhari won in largely illiterate States? You guys just argue sentimentally and unintelligently because of your bigotry. GEJ lost fair and square. Look at the tru icons of erudition in Nigeria like Utomi, Soyink, Keyamo, Falana et al. How many supported GEJ? No well-educated person, who is balanced, would have voted GEJ given the damage he did to Nigeria over the 5 years he has been President. We know your sort will say anything to tarnish the victory of Buhari but the truth is that Nigerians wanted him gone and even the 'magic figures' from the SE and SS could not save him. |
Sunnybobo3:I expected the excuse above because you Jonathanians are dishonourable liars and shameless cads. Is this not what you stated that I responded to : The illiterate won in largely illiterate states. If Buhari won the most-literate, most cosmopolitan and most politically sophisticated State in Nigeria then why are you still here chasing your own tail and arguing with your own claim Buhari won "in largely illiterate states"? Note I did not even use Ogun, Oyo, Ekiti, Ondo et al who have indisputable statistics that marks them out as some of the most literate States in Nigeria. The bottom line is that no Jonathanian, and you are a potent example, is ready to defer to facts and reality. You are all emotional, prejudiced, sentimental, and above everything else, prone to saying total nonsense once you think such provides validation for your support of an abject misruler. You do not care if you make analytical sense or not. You just talk for the sake of clannishly supporting the misruler you were hoping would help you actualise the destruction of Nigeria. You guys have no use for fact and reality and, consequently, intelligent Nairalanders have no use for your garbage utterances. |
Sunnybobo3:Loser. Name a State more cosmopolitan, more pacesetting and more literate than Lagos. Name a state that has a synergy of dynamism, political sophistication, comparative high standards, precedence-setting socio-economic lifestyle and political intelligence more than Lagos. If Buhari won Lagos then what does that make you if not the illiterate you accuse others to be? You guys are sad. Bigotry and hate has now made you neanderthals totally unable to work with facts and reality. I really pity your kind and hope you spare your kids the mental prison you are living in. |
WisdomFlakes:Indeed. No poster exemplified this chest-beating "Buhari will never lead me" braggadocio more than the absolutely clueless OP of this thread. We tried to remind them that democracy remained a game of numbers and that the SE and SS simply did not have the numbers to give GEJ the win they all craved clannishly. The lesson is that this foolish OP has the brainpower and reasoning of an ant. One of the biggest olodos here who will never shut his unintelligent mouth. Seun should hand a life ban to posters like him so we can be spared their mind-numbing gibberish. Him and others like him are now free to be men of their words by leaving Nigeria to move to Somalia or whatever nation suits them to actualise their pledge that " an illiterate will never rule over me again". |
reborn1:Indeed. The fool has the brainpower and reasoning of an ant. One of the biggest olodos here who will never shut his unintelligent mouth. Seun should hand a life ban to posters like him so we can be spared their mind-numbing gibberish. |
@OP. Nigerians indeed wanted GEJ gone. Anyone saying otherwise is delusional. Much as Nigerians can be 'weird' in comparison to others, we are not entirely hopeless or a total lost cause. The facts is that Jonathan misruled Nigeria horribly and brought misery to millions. It was only natural for the incumbent to lose the election - even accounting for the ethnic and religious bias of some that GEJ benefited from electorally . As you concluded, GEJ would have lost by far more if not for the desperate rigging that took place in the SE and SS. |
zendy:And the problem with people like you is that you do not understand that there are ways to show you don't see yourselves as Nigerians which would make others take you seriously. You understand the saying "charity begins at home"? Why , if serious about your wish to reject and move away from the rest of us, do you not insularly remain in your domain and make it a microcosm of the separate "great" nation you claim you want and are capable of building? What would make other Nigerians and indeed the entire world take you seriously more than this? Others have done it in history so why can't you achieve same if sincere ? Yet you come here daily telling us all other Nigerians are your problem and are the groups "holding you" back meanwhile your nomadic lifestyle, typified by your readiness to go anywhere in search of wealth and prosperity, mark you out as confused, hateful and hypocritical. If you do not feel Nigerian, and if this is truly a general feeling of your ethnic group all Igbos adhere to as a matter of principle, why not begin showing us you mean business by shunning interaction with the rest of Nigeria to make Ebonyi, Anambra, Abia, ENugu, Imo et al superlative models of how Igbos can create paradise in any space they are completely free to define? Or are you not free to define your space as you wish? Yet why do you leave your domain in droves to adopt the language and culture of others only to turn around and say those same people you willingly travelled to live with hold you back? I will never take your kind seriously as long as the real actions of Igbos on the ground show they need other Nigerians more than the other way round. Good Nigerians, to include Igbos, are sick of the hypocrisy of bitter individuals like you who are unwilling to let go of the past. The way forward is very simple. You don't "feel Nigerian" then stay away from Nigerians completely. Don't trade with them, don't migrate to where they live and don't interact with them socially. You have the States to enable you to do this, i.e keep to yourselves. We are all sick of your bitter diatribe where you hypocritically say you want your own Country and that the rest of us hinder your progress yet your real nomadic lifestyles bear people like you out as confused, hateful and bigoted hypocrites. If you and other secession-minded Igbos are genuinely intelligent and sincere then you would have realised that land borders mean nothing to resolute and 100% sincere agitators. You can create an insularly great Igbo region, irrespective of Nigeria and definitive of the "supremacist" talent you go on about non-stop, if that is genuinely what majority of Igbos want and are committed to delivering. Otherwise let go of the past and partner with the rest of us to build a great Nigeria that meets all our needs whether we are Igbo, Yoruba, Hausa, Fulani, Ijaw et al. |
f8luv87:Indeed. Every time I come to nairaland, I have to literally slap myself 'normal' because of how posters like zendy talk aberrantly. Everywhere else in the world, and because of the stone-age problems of our nation, the focus of the people would be on adequate electricity supply, optimal healthcare, bridging our massive infrastructure deficit, developing a modern, modular and robust transport sector, provision of quality education that will assist Nigerians be the sort of solutions providers who can produce first class products and services the world wants, etc , etc, etc. Yet it is very disappointing to see that some, to the detriment of their own development, prefer to wallow in the mindless hatred of others and the unproductive insistence of holding on to the past to the extent they always prefer to remain bitter and vengeful even when the unique opportunity has arisen for all of us to make a fresh and productive start for the sake of our Nation. Clearly GEJ was a failure. How would it hurt any Nigerian, genuinely desirous of the progress of their own country, to grant Buhari their goodwill, support him, even if temporarily, and hope he delivers so Nigeria can be the great nation God intended her to be ? |
philips70:That is the way to go. I have stated several times that the condition is right for Buhari to be the Nigerian Mustafa Kemal Ataturk. I.e the father of modern Nigeria who created a thriving nation because of an ability to seek the policies that improves the lives of all Nigerians. Ataturk gained his surname because he was deemed "father of the turks" by the people themselves. Buhari can achieve same by leading Nigeria well for all Nigerians. Buhari can also "launch a programme of revolutionary social and political reform" that will see his name hailed fondly long after he is gone. http://www.bbc.co.uk/history/historic_figures/ataturk_kemal.shtml Kemal Atatürk (1881-1938) |
rudedough:You need to shut up. All this bitter and empty show of bravado misses the point which is that issues remain about the development of Nigeria. If you truly accept this then you will not be here insulting Buhari while the wise men from your ethnic group pursue a mature and bridge-building approach . |
