Yes, this is what happens when criminals that should be in jail are left roaming the streets -THEY'D START DEMANDING FOR THEIR RIGHTS!! In countries where the rule of law is upheld by governments that have a high sense of social justice, Amos Adamu would be prosecuted for corruption and treasonable conduct. He's so corrupt that he can't even think straight any more. How disgusting!! |

Jobs/Vacancies / Re: Akintolla Williams Vs Kpmg by Gbosko: 11:52am On Oct 21, 2010 |
@Poster, Firstly, in your opening statement you said Akintola Williams Deloitte is the largest consultancy of it's kind in the world. That is a misleading statement, and the report in the reference link that you gave did not mention the growth rate or the size of Deloitte's Nigerian franchise (Akintola Williams) Secondly, are you in a position where you are considering a job offer from both AWD and KPMG? or is this a tongue in the cheek poster to advertise the prowess of one company over the other? |

Super Eagles don't deserve to progress from this stage. It will be a sad loss to Zambia if they lose out here. |

Poor guys. They are being made to overwork their Rse because they have an extremely inept coach. |
Sports / Re: Nigeria Vs Zambia: Super Eagles Win On Penalties (Nations Cup) by Gbosko: 10:34pm On Jan 25, 2010 |
If Amodu plays 1 striker against Zambia then maybe he will not play any striker against Ghana(!!!) Then check out his substitutions- like for like with no clear intent to turn around the game. What a fool! |
Sports / Re: Nigeria Vs Zambia: Super Eagles Win On Penalties (Nations Cup) by Gbosko: 10:23pm On Jan 25, 2010 |
Shuaibu played a formation that tied up the players' creativity. playing 2 defensive midfielders and using 1 striker upfront hoping that some-how ball will be getting to striker??!! Even if we win this match, Amodu has finally proved that he is not a world cup coach. What a fool! |

Politics / Re: Nigeria: Ghana Plans To Be Major Electricity Exporter To Nigeria, Others by Gbosko: 8:40pm On Aug 05, 2009 |
This is year 2009, after 10years of democracy; there is no security, no water supply, unemployment is higher than 75%, public infrastructure (mostly built in the 70's) are decaying without replacement, standard of education is rundown; and probably most embarrassingly, Nigeria is still without substantial power supply. A clock is ticking fast and hour ZERO is approaching! If those bunch of fat, selfish, smiling clepto-bastards that call themselves "politicians" don't get there acts together and start serving the populace, this entity called "Nigeria" could finally self destruct! |

Health / Re: History, As Nigerian Finds Cure For Diabetes by Gbosko: 6:35pm On Feb 04, 2009 |
Pennywise: You're 100% correct on this. There is nothing wrong with healthy criticism of pharmaceutical discoveries of this kind. Unfortunately critical examination of issues is usually frowned by the ignorant and poorly educated, and you might even be branded as unpatriotic. While we bask in the euphoria of this success by a Nigerian, the Health authorities (permit my language, I'm not a medical practitioner) should demand that continued clinical tests should continue to get a well documented trend of systemic response over long period of drug usage. Imagine the backlash on the image of Nigerian scientists if after 5years, it was found out that people that had been cure of diabetes had started having acute forms of liver failure. I no want wahala O! |

Politics / Re: Court Orders INEC To Allow Nigerians Abroad To Vote by Gbosko: 5:29pm On Jan 28, 2009 |
Nigerians in Nigeria should first be allowed to vote and transit government in an atmosphere of peace and fairness devoid of rigging and bitterness. Then we can start thinking of involving Nigerians in diaspora because then we would be sure that the diaspora votes would count. Anything short of that would be stupid and could be likened to Nigeria placing satellite in space when electricity cannot be kept steady for 3hours in most of the major cities. Gbam! |
Politics / Re: Fashola Shuts Aswani Market by Gbosko: 2:39pm On Jan 28, 2009 |
JJYOU: Yes, people should never have been there in the first place and we Nigerians can be unruly. But Nigerians have been boxed into a corner and many would do anything just to survive. Arguably a sizable percentage of this country survive by one form of street marketing or the other (depending on how the market is defined). Those people are Nigerians are deserve all due considerations. I don't believe that the people who took to street selling and marketing at odd spots would have gone into such ventures if past govts have done the right thing by modernizing commerce in Lagos and providing market outlets which are affordable to the masses. Now the damage is done and someone had just appeared on the scene trying to fix what's gone wrong. Good. Alternatives need be provided and mass mobilization is very necessary. |

Politics / Re: Fashola Shuts Aswani Market by Gbosko: 12:57pm On Jan 28, 2009 |
If alternative sites were provided for these makeshift markets and all the logistic issues properly covered for (transport, accessibility, affordability, and security), and the marketers and street peddlers were given an extended period of notice, then the government would be right to raze down the markets at the expiration of an ample notice period. Otherwise, it would be callous for the govt to suddenly start market eviction. We Nigerians know ourselves for what we are. We want to live in comfort and we'll go to beautiful cities all over the world just to catch fun or make a living but we are hardly ever ready to make the sacrifices necessary for national transformation. |
Business / Re: How Can We Combat Fraud In Nigeria? by Gbosko: 11:34pm On Oct 15, 2008 |
Guys, Crime in Nigeria is different from crime in any other place. In Nigeria, the government is the main crime machine, politicians and govt officials are the operators, and the citizens are the foot soldiers. I think self consolatory statements like "After all, there is fraud in every country" are simplistic and simply diversive from the real nature of the canker worm that has eaten up Nigeria. I'm an honest, hardworking, and God fearing Nigerian who lives abroad. Out here, daily, I try to stand tall "proudly Nigerian" but men, is it difficult to convince even the most receptive foreigner? Is there really anything to be proud about our way of life? Nof said. |

@Mon Amie, I totally agree with you. I think the dude is probably a deranged man who has access to internet. His senseless rantings about those strange names he keep mentioning in vernacular only further confirms that he is in desperate need of a shrink. Check out his nairaland thread on "The Niger Bridge about to collapse". @ Quotasyste, Sorry Quotasyste, your predicament is fully understood. I promise you, I trade punch with a disabled mind. |
Politics / Re: MEND Declares Ceasefire In Niger Delta by Gbosko: 10:37pm On Oct 06, 2008 |
QuotaSyste: @Quotasyste, I've followed quite a number of your contributions both on this thread and other threads (including your thread about "The Collapsing Niger Bridge" A lot of people do observe that five fundamental issues are characteristic of your response to issues - 1. Aggressive and abusive use of language. 2. Sectionalism and Unabated tribalistic rantings 3. Poor grasp of issues and facts. 4. Poor written communication skills, and 5. Deep seething bitterness and frustration. Whatever is making you so angry cannot be solved by you trying so hard to fan the embers of hatred and tribalism. It only makes matters worse for the country. And this was the mistake our parents have been making since the life of this nation. Do ask your self - what kind of country do you want to leave to your children when you die?. |

Guys need to pray. The bail out is just a lease of hope. It doesn't guarantee, for sure, that the world economy will bounce back. This drool may last for a while before total normalcy returns. |
