What I have learned to do if I don't trust you with money is to lend you an amount that if you don't pay back, I don't bother. I move on because what that means to me is that you are not coming back to borrow from me no matter what.

Then they will enjoy the benefits either because they are low income or unemployed. If the latter, there's a maximum duration for which you get to benefit it. If the former, at least, now she is working.

You can't be on welfare and be having more wives who you don't allow to work and by extension more children you expect to be fed with taxpayers monies.

I feel you misunderstood the minister's position. What he's saying is that Egypt Air should use newer planes to fly their Lagos and Abuja routes.

The interesting thing is that the United States Higher Institutions do not discriminate between our HND and BSc. In Canada for migration purpose, a HND is rated more than a BSc in terms of points awarded to education.

That said, our education system needs an overhaul and that should be our focus. Once we fix the sector and the impact is felt, the degrees will align themselves appropriately.

When going to see grandma in ekiti, our vehicle would stop there and we'd buy akara. She built upstairs with the proceeds. In same period, my school principal was riding 505 evolution Peugeot car while his vice was driving 504GL. They bought it brand new.
In same period, pry school headmasters owned volkswagen beetle cars which they bought with their salary, cash. Is it same situation today? How much is a public university fee today and how many akara can you sell to garner that?

His entire life savings wont get him one except he received grants from outside for his research work or he's so lucky to garner some money during his sabbaticals overseas. In my undergraduate days, i knew profs who drove prado jeeps. Remi's comment clearly indicates how far and out of touch she and her husband are, from the masses. So sad. When China is empowering their youths and startups with huge sums of money with scholarship annually, someone is talking about akara empowerment in 2026? Hahahahahaha!!!

No wonder Nigeria is in such a disarray today. Even those selling akara today on the major parks in lagos, how much do they make daily? A lot of women quit that business for pure water cos of rising cost. Those commuters in lagos could bear a witness to this. Before, akara sellers would mob at you via the window but now, its pure water,soft and energy drinks sellers you'd see everywhere. What's the cost of cooking gas today per kg? What of ororo, beans...in fact nobody dey chop beans back in the days. They used to call those eating it prisoners because that's the majort meal for them. Nobody goes to farm nowadays for fear of bokoharam and Niger republic that used to supply us beans to compliment local production had shut their borders against us. The available few is so expensive. What of the frypan, nylon or leaves? It's so unfortunate where we've found ourselves today as a nation. Under Tinubu's watch, naira became tissue papers. The cfa that I used to exchange with naira and my pocket would look like someone who kept heavy stones inside it had left naira far behind now. We're now 5th largest economy in africa, from 1st but nobody is talking about that, only defending rubbish. Isokay.

Anyone defending remi's unfeeling post is worse than an enemy of Nigeria.

They were handcuffed and their legs were chained as they were carried like goats into the plane. The reason was because they were trying to be violent and threatening to bring down the plane. Like about half way through the journey they all became very calm and sober and the chains and handchuffs were taken off them. Except for one woman that refused to stop crying and insulting them till the plane landed.

That's humiliating though.

I can only wish him a good stay in detention at the moment and a safe flight back home on deportation.
Some Nigerians are terrible, I can never forget one of my trips from UK to Nigeria on holiday. There were some deportees in the plane that day. You need to see how they were chained and carried into the plane like Christmas goats. I was in disbelief but then I saw why they were treated like that because they were insulting the officers and promising to ensure the plane doesn't get to Nigeria. Myself and other people were scared and decided we were not comfortable flying in same plane anymore until the officers made us understand that they deal with such cases on a regular basis and so we should be calm because once the plane takes off and it's gets to about 2-3 hours out of the 6 hours flight, they will all become sober because then it will dawn on them that they are already heading back home and there is nothing they can do. Honestly speaking, just as the officers said, that's exactly what happened and that was the time (about half way the flight) they removed them from chains and they were all very sober till we landed Nigeria in peace.

Why put the deportees in chains or do you mean they were handcuffed?

How can one buy a unit and is it subsidized?

How did we get to this point? What on earth is this association? What have the associations we thought are meaningful brought our ways?

Have anyone noticed how most road divide are filled with gabbages? One thing I have noticed a few times is people bringing bandages from their homes and dumping on the major road. Sometimes, I wonder how we reason.
