NgeneUkwenu: A lot have been said, written and speculated about Saraki and Dogara defying and going against the decision of their Party in tomorrow's election into offices of the National Assembly. Why no one can readily and accurately predict what would happen in the Chambers tomorrow, it will not be out place to reexamine the chances and results of those who had taken similar route before and the consequences!
1. Ibrahim Shekaru: He was the governor of Kano State for 8 years spanning 2003-2011, a former strong member of APC, a Stalwart of ANPP who contributed in no small measure in the merging of the legacy parties that formed APC.
However, during the integration of then newly formed party, Shekaru felt, he would be sidelined in the scheme of things in Kano State with entrant of The then governor of Kano State, Alhaji Kwankwaso, defied all the entreaties of the party for reconciliation and defected to the then Ruling party PDP. Result: Aside the 6months, jonathan invited him to "come and chop" he has been politically rendered useless in the National and Local Politics:
2: Buba Marwa: Just like Shekaru felt, he would be sidelined in the party, given the presence of then Governor Of Adamawa State , Murtala Nyako, decided to shift base to PDP while lampooning APC. Result: His 2 years sojourn in the PDP brought misery and tears to him. There is speculation is about declaring for APC. Talk about going back to your Vomit.
3. Nuhu Ribadu: A former Presidential Candidate of The defunct ACN, was a major force in the then New party. In fact he practically went to everywhere selling APC manifesto to the people. However when Nyako of Adamawa State was impeached, he saw a quicker route to the governorship seat and against all odds decided to dump APC for the then Ruling Party. And like the proverbial mad dog, he refused to listen to the wise counsel from his Friends in APC. Result: He was roundly and disgracefully defeated in the just concluded guber election thereby rendering him a political nonentity both locally and nationally.
Tom Ikimi: According to him, he was the "sole" brain behind the formation APC. In fact he claimed that APC was formed in his parlour! But like orders who had defied the party, Ikimi felt the Chairman Seat should be reserved for him, without going through the elections, of which the party objected. He felt 'betrayed' and wrote a lengthy letter abusing Tinubu-the undisputed party leader and consequently defected to PDP.
Result: I have not heard from him for so long.
5. Ali Modu Sherrif: Another astute politician who defied the orders and instruction of APC and got himself burnt politically. No need to write more on him.
Others are Attahiru Bafarawa of Sokoto, Belgore of Kwara States etc all tried to defy and challenge APC but learned the lesson the bitter way!
Now, is history going to repeat itself in the cases of Saraki and Dogara?? Time which is actually Tomorrow will tell!

otr1: Hell is real, but not eternal as being preached. The Bible says, the soul that sinneth shall die (Ezekiel 18:20). The Bible talks about second death in Revelation 20:14-15. That is it. Death, hell (hades which means grave), and whosoever is not found written in the book of life will be thrown into the lake of fire. They will perish forever, not burn eternally. That is the Bible truth. Our God is not a tyrant that he will burn people for eternity just for a short life of sin, in a body prone to sin. this is very strange to me, but is heaven real? Are you saying if we die in sin we just perish or disintegrate for ever? But man is made of body, soul and spirit, the spirit man cannot die cos GOD never created the spirit to die, if you say there is no hell fire then we will have a chaotic world, sin is pleasurable people will just indulge in sinful acts all through thier stay on earth and end uo in hell |

Holyfield1: BENIN— NO fewer than 14 Junior Secondary School, JSS, students have been arrested by the Police in Edo State over alleged involvement in cult-related activities in Benin. Vanguard gathered that the students, whose ages ranged from 12 to 15 years, were said to have been picked by policemen at Oguola Secondary School, along St. Saviour Road in the state capital and were being screened at the State Criminal Investigation Department, SCID, Police headquarters, Benin. Principal of the school, Mr. Ehanire Reuben, said eight of the students were allegedly arrested in the school compound, adding that their arrest prompted the police to conduct a search on some students in the classrooms. He, however, said prior to the arrest, he learned that a student teacher in the school was attacked and his phone and wallets taken from him by some students, who also attacked residents in the area. He pleaded with police to release those found to be innocent. Edo State Police Command spokesman, Mr. Innocent Onwochie, in his reaction to the development, said the arrest was made following a tip-off, adding that those arrested were under-aged. He said investigations on the issue had been stepped up, promising that the police would leave no stone unturned in its war against cultism and other criminal activities in the state. - See more at: http://www.vanguardngr.com/2015/05/14-jss-students-arrested-for-cultism-in-edo

metronaija: Scores of workers of Daar Communications Plc, operator of African Independent Television (AIT) and Raypower FM Radio, on Wednesday shut down all broadcasting activities at the Benin studio in protest over unpaid salaries.
The protesting workers were said to have blocked the main entrance to the station located along the Benin/Lagos bypass.
A detachment of anti-riot policemen were however called by the management of the station to forestall any break down of law.
It was gathered that the protesting workers put at 50 of AIT and Ray Power, were owed salaries salaries spanning between 12 and 17 months.
One of the protesting workers who did not want his name in print for personal reasons, said newly employed staff of AIT were being owed 12 months while old staff were yet to be paid salaries between 13 months and staff of the Raypower FM, the Radio arm of the broadcast outfit were owed 17 months.
“The stations generate millions of naira on a daily basis, so there is no reason why we should not be paid our salaries. They have no excuse not to pay us our money. It is share wickedness and man’s inhumanity to his fellow man. We have families to care for and children to pay their school fees. Many of our children have stopped going to school. But their own attend schools abroad.
“Look at where our station is located, in another village so far away from Benin City. You have to chatter a taxi carb for not less than N500.00 to get there if you miss the staff bus. And not even every cab driver will agree to go there because of the wrong location of the station, yet, they expect us to be there everyday, whether you have anything to do or not,” the source told
Chairman of the organization, Raymond Dokpesi (Jnr) was said to have spoken to the protesters on phone. He allegedly appealed for calm, assuring them that the management will within one week do everything possible to pay parts of the salary arrears.
He however allegedly threatened to pay-off any of the staff that decided to resign from the establishment.

Using Boko haram yo terrorize us and using Amnesty intl to or vent us from fighting back?/( that's my own theory anyway, might be wrong). I'm forced yo remember George Carlin. Below is a statement from him.
Forget the politicians. They are irrelevant. The politicians are put there to give you the idea that you have freedom of choice. You don’t. You have no choice! You have OWNERS! They OWN YOU. They own everything. They own all the important land. They own and control the corporations. They’ve long since bought—and paid for—the Senate, the Congress, the state houses, the city halls, they got the judges in their back pockets and they own all the big media companies, so they control just about all of the news and information you get to hear. They got you by the balls. They spend billions of dollars every year lobbying, lobbying, to get what they want. Well, we know what they want. They want more for themselves and less for everybody else, but I’ll tell you what they don’t want: They don’t want a population of citizens capable of critical thinking. They don’t want well-informed, well-educated people capable of critical thinking. They’re not interested in that. That doesn’t help them. That’s against their interests. That’s right. They don’t want people who are smart enough to sit around a kitchen table and think about how badly they’re getting bleeped by a system that threw them overboard 30 bleeping years ago. They don’t want that! You know what they want? They want obedient workers. Obedient workers, people who are just smart enough to run the machines and do the paperwork. And just dumb enough to passively accept all these increasingly shitty jobs with the lower pay, the longer hours, the reduced benefits, the end of overtime and vanishing pension that disappears the minute you go to collect it, and now they’re coming for your Social Security money. They want your retirement money. They want it back so they can give it to their criminal friends on Wall Street—and you know something? They’ll get it. They’ll get it all from you sooner or later ‘cause they own this bleeping place! It’s a big club, and you ain’t in it! You, and I, are not in the big club. By the way, it’s the same big club they use to beat you over the head with all day long when they tell you what to believe. All day long beating you over the head with their media telling you what to believe, what to think and what to buy. The table has tilted, folks. The game is rigged and nobody seems to notice. Nobody seems to care! Good honest hard-working people; white collar, blue collar it doesn’t matter what color shirt you have on. Good honest hard-working people continue—these are people of modest means—continue to elect these rich rooster suckers who don’t give a Bleep about you….they don’t give a Bleep about you… they don’t give a Bleep about you. They don’t care about you at all… at all… AT ALL. And nobody seems to notice. Nobody seems to care. That’s what the owners count on. The fact that Americans will probably remain willfully ignorant of the big red, white and blue dick that’s being jammed up their assholes everyday GOD PUNISH AMNESTY OR AMNESIA , BUNCH OF IDIOTS, WHERE WAS AMNESTY WHEN CHURCHES WERE BEEN BLOWN UP? [quote author=midolian post=34275126]The victory of the All Progressives Congress, APC, and its candidate, Muhammadu Buhari, in the March 28 presidential election may force some leaders of the Peoples Democratic Party, PDP, into retirement from politics.
Goodluck Jonathan of the PDP became the first incumbent Nigerian president to lose re-election after he lost to Mr. Buhari on March 28. The latter was sworn in as president on May 29.
Some of the PDP leaders have given indications they would play very minimal role politically in Nigeria in the aftermath of the elections, while for others, the demystification of their relevance politically may influence their retirement.
Among those that could retire or lose political relevance are Tony Anenih, Ibrahim Babangida, and Edwin Clark.
Tony Anenih
Governor Adams Oshiomhole of Edo state was the first to declare that it was time to retire some “godfathers” in the PDP. According to the APC governor, recent elections have demystified the PDP leaders. One of those Mr. Oshiomhole was referring to is the immediate past chairman of the Board of Trustees of the PDP, Tony Anenih. It can be said that the governors’ prophecy has come to pass, because following Mr. Buhari’s victory, Mr. Anenih resigned as chairman of his party’s BoT.
Mr. Anenih’s foray into mainstream politics can be traced back to 1981, when as the chairman of the ruling National Party of Nigeria, NPN, in the old Bendel State, he saw to the victory of Samuel Ogbemudia as governor of the state. He was also the national chairman of the Social Democratic Party, SDP in 1992/93 when late Moshood Abiola was elected as President in the June 12, 1993 election.
In the PDP, the Esan chief was always in the thick of things whenever a need arose to “fix” an endemic problem and he has consistently delivered until recent times when he was apparently demystified, first by Mr. Oshiomhole in Edo State and finally by the 2015 general elections.
Your list is incomplete, it,s not about age only, there are certain persons we don't ever want to see in Nigeria,s political landscape, cos they are of no use to thier communities, Nigeria and themselves, the underlisted should retire permanently, *stella oduah *bode George *obanikoro *fani kayode *reuben abati *okpolo eyed diezani Allison madueke *pius ayim pius *patience goodluck *nebulous nebo(electricity minister) *doyin okupe |

Medley: One thing is certain; it doesn't matter who wears the topmost crown of leadership in Nigeria, what we should be concerned with is - can Nigeria be taken to an unreached height of success in the echelon of countries.
Far worse than the menace caused by boko-haram is one's wish that this new regime should fail,to corroborate and affirm all our earlier assertions, projections and calculations. If the country begins to experience good governance, boko-haram wiped out(even if it happens from may 30,we shouldn't conjure obscure imaginations that anyone has a link in it),& an unparalled investment boom etc.
We all will be rejoicing. Who says Nigeria can't feed children in school? Who says we can't have 24hrs power supply? Who says unemployed youth corpers can't be paid? Who says we can't become an exporting country? - in bad faith and previous records held, its a No No; but this is a new era.
what if companies pay their taxes in full? What if ports corruption are stopped? What if oil revenues Are not stolen? What if our senators and reps. In the upper and lower chambers(respectively) slashes their salaries and allowances? What if project are not inflated and overblown? What if borrowed funds are actually used judiciously and optimally(considering what happened in the power sector)? What if oil theft is no more? What if agriculture experiences recrudescence? What if contractors don't elope with funds?...
The set goals and vision of the new regime may not be what seem achieveable today, because we are used to the lie we've been told and Nigeria's poor record of leadership at the top; but lets believe it can be achievable tomorrow.
May be not in 6-months,may be in a year; but at the end let Nigeria be called a nation, that's one - devoid of tribal and religion bias and bigotry, growing daily in leap and bounds were non-oil revenue will be our major earner for forex. For a Nigeria we all can be proud of,were our fine brains outside see reasons to be part of the Nigeria project and our youths not dying daily for illicit offences outside Nigeria in search of happiness(even in poor countries that Nigeria's GDP is bigger than).
lets take that leap of faith.
What are your prayers and wishes for the mohammadu Buhari regime? i pray buhari will muster enough zeal to arrest diezani Allison madueke and jail her, i pray buhari will call the bluff of oil marketers, revamp our refineries, i pray buhari will lots of new jobs for the benefit of TANOID,S on nairaland cos most have been rendered jobless, oga is returning to the creeks in otuoke, i pray that buhari will revoke the fraudulent and illegal sale of PHCN |
