ANYONE DRIVING TINTED GLASS VEHICLES WITHOUT PERMIT NOW RISK A FINE OF N50,000 OR A SIX-MONTH JAIL TERM OR BOTH. This was as a result of the final passage by the Senate, on Thursday, the Bill for an Act to amend the Motor Vehicle (Prohibition of Tinted Glass) Act aimed at checking indiscriminate use of tinted glass vehicles without approval. The options of fine, jail term or both were contained in the bill, first read on the floor on April 18, 2013 and sponsored by Senator Ita Enang. The decision of the Senate followed the adoption and approval of the report of its joint committee on Police Affairs and Judiciary, Human Rights and Legal Matters on the bill. The chairman of the joint committee, Senator Paulinus Nwagwu, said the bill “seeks essentially, to amend the extant law in order to check indiscriminate use of tinted glass vehicles which beat security checks and carry out nefarious activities.” Nwagwu said the need for the bill arose, following the reactions of Nigerians to the recent announcement by the Nigeria Police of its intention to arrest and prosecute Nigerians driving cars with tinted glass. He said it was, therefore, necessary to let Nigerians know that the police was not trying to introduce a new law but was merely trying to enforce an already existing Regulations 66 (2) of the National Traffic Regulations of 1997 and the Motor Vehicles (Prohibition of Tinted Glass) Act. Nwagwu said the Motor Vehicle (Prohibition of Tinted Glass ) Act Amendment Bill 2013 was thus sponsored to, among others, amend the enabling act with a view to streamlining it with the present realities. “The bill also seeks to address the persisting injustice meted out to Nigerians through embarrassment and harassment, which constitutes a serious affront to the fundamental rights of Nigerians against discrimination as enshrined under Section 42 of the Constitution,” he added. He said various stakeholders, during the public hearing on the bill, had emphasized the need to address current upsurge in terrorism and other crimes like kidnapping, child trafficking. The bill, among other provisions, requested buyers of imported vehicles with tinted, shaded, coloured, darkened or treated glass to change it to transparent ones within 14 days from the date of arrival in Nigeria or date of purchase. In the alternative, it stipulated that buyers of such vehicles should request for a permit for the use of such tinted glass vehicles from the Office of the Inspector General of Police, anywhere in the country, within 90 days of importing the vehicle. that's d content of d document by udoma |

d test questions are always drawn from multidisciplinary sources ... oil n gas, ict, current affairs, etc. and some set of questions from your chosen area of interest... i am still digging for more info.. dis is d little i know now |

rexfada: Pls am finding it hard to upload my CV cos of the size. The site requires d CV to be in pdf format, but each time I convert my docx format to pdf d size exceeds the recommended size, therefore making my application not to be submitted. Pls what app do I use to reduce d size (of d pdf format) from over 300kb to much lesser size? Abeg, time is running out. I need reply ASAP!!! Thanx in anticipation.ur cv must be pretty big 4 it to be more than 300kb in PDF format. y not try and reduce the content of ur cv.. or any artwork or pictures that that may increase the size. i used my ms-word to convert to PDF. just go to 'save as' and chose pdf as the option. if u can't save in pdf directly, then contact me so i send u a plugin for ms-office 2007 that will help u do that. but overall, i think u should have to look at the content of ur cv. mine is a complete 2-page document and is about 70kb in PDF or 30kb in ms-word. best wishes |

ultraendowed: I had dsame issue with my own i just filled everytin again and d second time dey sent a mail for the successful receipt of my application and anoda page came up in the nlng site showing my attached documents......... so i think u should fill it againBro, i have retried and this time the application completed and they brought a page containing my attached docs. but no confirmation mail till now (applied Wednesday morning ). Were u able to preview ur CV after completing the app? cos i could preview other docs save 4 d CV Which displays a blank page... tnx! |

tnx 4 dis thread guys. I applied this morning but after submitting, the page loaded for a while and redirected to the login page. I attempted login and it brought a fresh application containing only my job experience i uploaded. i understand i may have made a mistake but i don't know if my application has been received cos no confirmation was sent to that effect. do i need to refill the form? i know my docs total exceeded 300kb. and my pic size isn't exactly 300sq. Will this be the cause? thanks 4 ur anticipated response. |
