The result is expected to be fantastic just as with their last financial report. If they do a good dividend, then, upward is the only direction. I'm in some green percentage already but don't want to buy at the current price.

Sunrisepebble:
My entry was also quite high and im looking to add more. N44 was a gift. Not sure whether I should bite the bullet here to add more before results
InvestmentRe: Nigerian Stock Exchange Market Pick Alerts by GeeKudi: 11:22am On Jan 30, 2025
You're right and that would be great.
However, I really hope to see the price pull back a bit so I could bring down my cost price. I rushed in too fast after the reconstruction.

Sunrisepebble:
Which was a 20% payout ratio. If they maintain the same on the FY EPS with the share reconstruction taken into account this year. It could be between N1-2
InvestmentRe: Nigerian Stock Exchange Market Pick Alerts by GeeKudi: 10:46am On Jan 30, 2025
That would be a surprise. Before the reconstruction, quater dividend was N0.15, same thing with AFRIPRUD. Tony's companies seem to fancy capital appreciation over dividend. Q3 for UBA was the only exception and there was an obvious reason for that.

Sunrisepebble:
I think they can pay out close to N2
InvestmentRe: Nigerian Stock Exchange Market Pick Alerts by GeeKudi: 10:27am On Jan 30, 2025
Hold it tight if you have it.

Sometimes in October last year when I did a personal review of the stock, I placed it on my watchlist at an entry price of 8.95. Unfortunately, the day I saw it at that price, I didn't have money to pick it. That same day, it did a 10% on that CP and it never looked back since then. I was only able to pick at 15 and I already have 60% on it.
I strongly believe there is something cooking.

jckgroup1:
What is really driving up the market price of Afriprud?
InvestmentRe: Nigerian Stock Exchange Market Pick Alerts by GeeKudi: 10:16am On Jan 30, 2025
TRANSCORP will also likely pay less than N1 which may discourage people from holding the stocks and bring the price back to the range those of us who want to buy more have been waiting for. The goal is capital appreciation over the course of the year.

Mpeace:
Geregu with dividend of N8.5
No difference from transcorp power that is paying N3.50 when you consider their share prices.
Na wa oh
InvestmentRe: Nigerian Stock Exchange Market Pick Alerts by GeeKudi: 1:55pm On Jan 29, 2025
Isn't that what is responsible for the latest rally already.

KarlTom:
You mean the completion of the GOPDC deal won't affect the price?

Personally, I foresee circa 30% uptick after the deal is sealed regardless of dividend... smiley
InvestmentRe: Nigerian Stock Exchange Market Pick Alerts by GeeKudi: 1:07pm On Jan 29, 2025
The stock isn’t going to have any meaningful appreciation without a dividend that is commensurate with the price.

Sunrisepebble:
Do you think it would affect the price that much ?
To be fair I think Okomu is only at this it’s current price because of the 2 or 3 dividends they’ve paid this year
InvestmentRe: Nigerian Stock Exchange Market Pick Alerts by GeeKudi: 11:26am On Jan 29, 2025
Sold part of my holding to put into another stock because of this. I will get back in much later. I may be wrong but I couldn't wait the potential opportunity cost.

Good day, everone.

Mpeace:
Presco, don't you think their recent acquistion may affect their ability to pay good dividend?
InvestmentRe: Nigerian Stock Exchange Market Pick Alerts by GeeKudi: 2:13pm On Jan 21, 2025
lol. You sure know what you’re doing. There is no time for some needless forth and back. I expect you should be too busy for that. Good luck, bro.

ositadima1:
Now you’re stretching my post beyond its intended meaning. I never said that "nothing should matter", implying that you could come here and market drugs or traffic children?

It would have made more sense if you had added to the post instead of twisting its meaning. If you’re going to come at me, provide evidence—otherwise...
InvestmentRe: Nigerian Stock Exchange Market Pick Alerts by GeeKudi: 1:53pm On Jan 21, 2025
With your level of understanding, I expected you to know that my admonition was not specifically directed at you alone but a general one at everyone.
You alluded to NL being a faceless public forum where, practically, nothing matters and I added that in spite of this, as people who would not come off as social misfits, we should understand the importance of decorum in our social engagements even on such a platform as this.

ositadima1:
Show me where I’ve ever used derogatory words—I can’t even remember the last time I used a negative word. If you misconstrue my words, that’s a different matter. Perhaps you don’t like being challenged, but how is that my fault? Maybe you’re just used to being surrounded by “yes sir” people outside.
InvestmentRe: Nigerian Stock Exchange Market Pick Alerts by GeeKudi: 1:40pm On Jan 21, 2025
….but we can all be civil here and accord each other mutual respect. Don’t come at people for their opinion. Learn to disagree graciously. Stop using derogatory words on people and avoid mockery.

This shouldn’t be difficult for anyone with minimal home training to do!

ositadima1:
The funny thing is that Nairaland is a faceless forum. Your billions, whether real or imaginary, don’t define you here. Unless Nairaland starts offering merchandise you can buy to showcase your social status outside the forum, we are all the same here. In fact, your value is measured solely by the quality of your contributions. Even if you own the entirety of Lekki Phase 1 and 2, it’s irrelevant here. Know this, and find peace.

Even OANDO itself hasn't said anything about it.
I was going to take it as fake news until I saw it on the official page of the ANPG.

It's suppose to be a big news, isn't it?

I wonder why Nigeria media houses are relatively quiet/silent on the Angola oil bloc
InvestmentRe: Nigerian Stock Exchange Market Pick Alerts by GeeKudi: 10:54am On Jan 20, 2025
We have seen a number of participants/analysts/insider staying away from this platform or turning to guest mode as a result of similar attitudes.

I hope it is not fake news. It is nowhwere on OANDO's website and no other media house has repoted it except this particular one.

They are not new shares but existing shares of the company.

Are they going to crash price so that they can be able to buy back the shares? It doesn't seem practicable at all.

AGM date as qualification date for the share redistribution is already done away with as per the resolution of the AGM.

Raider76:
So will the qualification date remain the AGM date?
InvestmentRe: Nigerian Stock Exchange Market Pick Alerts by GeeKudi: 9:56pm On Jan 19, 2025
It seems practically impossible for this to happen.

Would the company be paying for those shares as a form of shares buy back?
If they have all that money, why would they be talking of raising capital to settle debts and to run the company?

Sunrisepebble:
May God truly help Wale.
Why is this a better idea than the Share distribution, why are they walking back on it
InvestmentRe: Nigerian Stock Exchange Market Pick Alerts by GeeKudi: 9:41pm On Jan 19, 2025
Where will the money come from? What will then happen to those shares? Who takes them?

Bagwa:
Oando may pay cash equivalent to share to disturbe 😁
InvestmentRe: Nigerian Stock Exchange Market Pick Alerts by GeeKudi: 7:19pm On Jan 19, 2025
Of course, it's OANDO! It's time for NSEMPA to start looking for what is not lost.

KarlTom:
Without being sentimental, I disagree with your perspective.

From the article, it's stated that the qualifications for operator status are financial&technical capacity.

As shareholders of OandO, we have no idea of the true state of the organization's financial standing.

So there is a high possibility that the presidential phones in Aso Villa and Palácio da Cidade Alta had a recent deal-clinching connection wink

For context, read this article:

There seems to be a well coordinated strategy by some group (maybe a whatsapp group somewhere) to create short-lived euphoria around stocks, one at a time, for some 10 - 15% profits. Once they achieve this target in a particular stock, they abandon it and move to the next one. I really don't know but this has happened in a number of stocks this january against experts' predictictions and expectations.

Make una let the market breathe so we can see the specific direction the market would want to take in this new year, biko.

What many people don’t know about Otedola is that he started as a very shrewd moneylender. In one tribute Bob Dee wrote about him, he described Otedola as ruthless when it came to recovering his money. Somebody should tell OANDO that it is being left behind.
