I'll find better YouTube videos showing all three cities when I have more time. |
popizaino:God I must find that video. I swear. |
vankelvin:Oh my god 😄😂 Ghanaians here will make you doubt and question your reality. This is Kigali by Steven Ndukwu. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=68zBF9FF-xw?si=RRyUtVpSLab0ITio This is Accra by thesame YouTuber https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=lB4hz8MnE1Y?si=uC2XF_VwYPrehQMO and then Abuja https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=qLR4uaOi3Wo?si=lbCP10sD-j8-_a-U Everyone can judge for themselves. God knows I tried 😂😄 |
samorobo:Funny enough a black American said same thing in her video. She first visited Victoria Island and Lagos Island in general before she went to Accra. She gave her reason why she chose Accra and said unlike Lagos Island, it gives her that village feel ( she innocently thought this was a compliment to her Ghanaian fans) but boy o boy, her comment section was brutally brutal with Ghanaian tears everywhere 😂😄 She had to do a follow up video to clarify and explain what she meant by saying Ghana gives her the village feel 😄 I would check for that video. It was during detty December and I've forgotten her name. |
vankelvin:You must be high on some cheap weed 😂😄 Kigali beats Accra in quality of roads and buildings as well as the planning and layout of the city. Kigali also have a more efficient transport system, good sewage system, and also more organized. |
Just30:Electricity consumption and water supply are not what's used to say a city looks more developed. For instance, Accra is a bigger city than Kigali and has more people, so the argument of electricity, water consumption is useless as long as Rwandans have good enough electricity and water for their population. So this your criteria makes no sense. It's even better to use the number of skyscrapers, good roads, real estate valuations, transport system (including trains), sidewalks, parks, beaches, organization, cinemas, gyms, financial institutions, quality of buildings, etc.. In all, good roads and good buildings as well as the layout of a city are the first things people speak about when they talk about development. Others come later but these are for first impressions and it's what I'm talking about here. |
Just30:Best hospital/Best hospital infrastructure. Kini big deal? What makes a hospital to be ranked the best if not the infrastructure and medical devices it has? You are splitting hairs here. Just answer the damn question if you can. |
Just30:😂😄 delusion. What does Accra have over Kigali? |
Just30:It's what I'm asking you. What country in West Africa has the best hospitals or school infrastructures in West Africa. What do you think the rankings consider if not infrastructure amongst others? |
vankelvin:Can Accra be compared to Kigali?? 😂😄 Accra is not even close. Kigali is one of the best cities in Africa. |
Just30:But you spoke of Ghana having the best of these things in West Africa not Accra.😄😄 Okay so tell me what Healthcare/Educational infrastructure are you talking about? Good to know you and other Ghanaians here like baby arguments. Not just that, but the Ghanaians here are painfully stubborn in their wayward arguments 😂😄 |
Appisko:Stop deceiving yourself my man. No fact there. Education.. Ghana has the highest ranking school in West Africa, true. But Nigeria dominates the list of the top ten (not just one school ranking high). Nigeria has 170 universities spread across 36 states. Healthcare..I don't know where he got that from because the rankings I see puts Lagos as the 8th best city in terms of Healthcare in Africa. The other cities higher than Lagos are in South Africa (with about 5), Kenya (1), Morocco. Social Amenities.. ![]() Sports...Where is the data? Entertainment and Leisure...For him to include this category shows he is really high on something 😄😂 |
vankelvin:You are wasting your time. I am yet to find any observer who has visited both Abuja and Accra who speaks of Accra being ahead of Abuja in any way. We have shown you two people who visited both cities so far and this is what they have to say: African Tigress: I think Abuja is my favourite West African capital city. Wode Maya: I don't know any city in Ghana I can use to compare with it, no no. These are testimonies that goes beyond this bantering on nairaland 😂😄 |
popizaino:This is Ghana's planned city?? Eii Charlie. |
popizaino:Na all these black Americans sha. I get plenty friends wen don visit Ghana, none of them dey hype Ghana (but na mostly Accra dem dey visit sha). But some African Americans online go tell you say dem visit Tema, dey love it and stuff like that. |
vankelvin:Wetin be this?? Is this the Tema?? 🙄 |
popizaino:Accra (aside maybe Airport city) gives PH vibes at best. While Kumasi gives old Ibadan vibes. I heard Tamale and Tema are calm, beautiful cities but haven't seen much of them. |
vankelvin:Give up already. You are not making any sense. He was asked: Out of the four cities he visited in Nigeria which is the most developed? (not which is the most organized) and he listed them as: Abuja, Lagos, PH in that order. That is the context. No need for twisting and yes Kigali is more developed than any city in Ghana and in Wode Maya's eyes, it's also more developed than Lagos. |
Just30:Well that is your opinion. Wode Maya uses the word development at the beginning and ranks Abuja his most developed Nigerian city. So he was clear on what he was talking about in the context of Nigeria and Ghana. I'm sure if he was asked to compare Abuja and Capetown for instance, he would have put some qualifiers to say Capetown is more developed but Abuja is quieter and stuff like that but in thinking of Ghana and Nigeria, it is clear he considers both Abuja and Kigali as up there. You can disagree with Wode Maya but it is his opinion. Also can you give me the data that shows Accra has more paved roads than Abuja? Because that seems unbelievable. |
Just30:Nah, this is the full context below. What that guy did was cut and join. Wode Maya started by speaking of "development and everything". He was even asked before this, what city is the most developed in Nigeria? and in his opinion he ranks Abuja no 1 ahead of Lagos. He then goes on to describe Abuja and why he feels so. He listed things like beauty, organized, serenity, traffic, everything on point and even infrastructure at the end. What else do you think he left out in the entire context? He didn't try to say Lagos is better than Abuja in some aspects but Abuja is better in serenity only. Nah, rather Abuja is his most developed Nigerian city. Period. It can only compare to Kigali aside Kigali's cleanliness. This means to Wode Maya, Kigali is more developed than any Ghanaian or Nigerian city aside Abuja. Simple as ABC. This is the quote in full context: " I saw Abuja is different in terms of development. I think they took their time to develop Abuja. So when you go to Abuja you'll see that everything is like on point, everything in Abuja is on point like the road system, the traffic system, and everything. It's not like Lagos, if you go to Lagos, everything is here there. But Abuja is like organized, I don't know how to explain like I don't know any city in Ghana I can use to compare Abuja, no no. It's like well organised, let me say Abuja is something like Rwanda Kigali but Kigali is cleaner than Abuja but that's the only thing I would say, Kigali was cleaner than Abuja but Abuja was beautiful, green, it's like a green city, infrastructure"... |
vaxx:Sorry. Bolt and Uber are common in Abuja, so we are not deceiving ourselves. If it's a luxury in Accra, I can't help you there. Even with normal transportation, Lagos is still more expensive. So you don't know what you are talking about. For you to say food is cheaper in Lagos than Abuja again shows your ignorance. Abuja borders food producing Northern state with Vast lands like Niger, Kogi, and Kaduna, so how can food be more expensive than in Lagos? Stick to topics you are familiar with. You see I didn't assume when it came to Northern Ghana because I don't know. So do thesame and stop showing your ignorance. |
vaxx:You are not correct. Abuja is cheaper than Lagos in transportation (uber, bolt) and food. It only competes with Lagos in rent. I think everywhere in the South, one dollar at 890 naira would still get you a plate of Eba, Soup, and Meat. If we use the black market rate of today, one dollar at 1400 naira would still get you that even in okay restaurants. I don't know if 11 cedis can get you a plate of such food anywhere in Northern Ghana. If it can of course I am ready to learn. Also, Accra and Abuja are not even close when it comes to high cost of living. Only Lagos comes close to Accra in that in the entire Nigeria. |
theenchanter:Omo that guy sabi twist English chai 😄😂 |
ProblemChild1:He is trying to twist it now and limit Wode Maya's words to Abuja just being organized and more serene only 😄 |
GeneralDae:From this transcript, Wode Maya speaks not just of Abuja being organized but also in terms of development, infrastructure. Earlier in the video, he already made clear that out of the four cities he visited in Nigeria, Abuja is the most developed second to Lagos. So when he also says no city in Ghana can be compared with Abuja, he is speaking comprehensively as well. Not just of organisation and greenery only but of development and beauty. It's clear Charlie. The best one can do is disagree with Wode Maya. Even some Nigerians here like forgiveness and popizaino (and a few others) may likely also disagree with him for saying Abuja is the most developed city in Nigeria ahead of Lagos. But what they would not do is try to twist his words or select them. |
vankelvin:Lol. We should Ignore the "development" he spoke about a few times and the "infrastructure" he spoke about and "the everything" he kept on emphasiizng and concentrate on only the word "organized". Ah Charlie 😄😂 |
vankelvin: He now stressed on how well organized Abuja was and then said none of the cities he visited in Nigeria including the ones we have here in Ghana is as organized as AbujaNah he didn't specify only the bolded |
vankelvin:So show me where he said Kigali is ahead of Abuja in everything? In speaking of Kigali, he was careful to add: "but Kigali was cleaner that's the only thing I would say but in terms of infrastructure.." Stop being disingenuous Charlie 😄 |
vankelvin:Maybe we both different ideas of main areas but I'll pass on this one. This is what Wode Maya said and I quote: " I saw Abuja is different in terms of development. It's like well organised, let me say Abuja is something like Rwanda Kigali but Kigali is cleaner than Abuja but that's the only thing I would say, Kigali was cleaner than Abuja but Abuja was beautiful, green, it's like a green city, infrastructure"... |
vankelvin:You are the one twisting what Wode Maya said. He said Kigali beats Abuja in terms of cleanliness. That's all he said. Everybody can go watch that video to see who is twisting his words. I believe you know what you are doing 😄😄 Maya was even struggling to single out a Ghanaian city in order to bring the point closer home to the interviewer but he just could not imagine any Ghanaian city, only Kigali which he said was just cleaner. Everybody knows Kigali is the cleanest city in Africa. |
vankelvin:I watched your video. Your Airport City Area at the beginning of the video is my favourite part of Accra but that East legon is no different from most parts of PH currently and is not spectacular. Abuja has wide, well planned roads, trees, and also very nice buildings spread across but it has large expanse of land and spaces and was planned that way. The thing with Abuja is that most of its development around the main city (not the outskirts) is diversified. For instance, if you live in Wuye or Gwarimpa, you don't need to go to Asokoro, Maitama, or Wuse 2 for whatever you need. For a great housing estate, cinema, Spa, Shopping Complexes or good roads. |
Deltamani:Women are the real adjebutters 😂😄 I don't know how easy it's gonna be on them because men with generally stronger bones are also having a hard time. Not easy at all. |

there's no city in Ghana he can compare it with Abuja in terms of cleanest, Infrastructure, development. He even said Abuja is a green city. Hope you will shot up now you idiot
