Nigeria has 1.5million BPD not 500,000 Biko
NNPC has just 500,000. The rest belong to IOC's (Shell, Chevron, etc).

Hahahah!!! Urchins! urchins!! urchins!! How many times I call UNA.
What in the world happens to people's brain immediately they join APC
1)Nigeria was doing crude swap with countries that have refineries because, we were told that our refineries are pumpkins, okayoooo!
2) APC cabals promised us that when dangote takes off, no more crude swap will be needed, since local supplies will be met, the rest of the crude will be traded internationally as is usual for forex earnings, okayoooo!!
3) information conclusion from 1) and 2) above showed that our crude is bigger in quantity than whatever dangote will consume even at 100% production.
4) David hundeyin told us that this producers whom APC promised us will start supplying retailers with imported fuel
5) we are now told that dangote is about to import crude, even at low production capacity, but wait, APC told us we have crude to supply dangote, while excess will continue to be exported
6) so why is dangote paying for a crude we were told has already been piped to dangote for refining
7) in conclusion the news in 5) renders 1) and 2) as lies, making 3) a joke but if they are true, what then is dangote importing, we decided to search, then we met this information that hundeyin had given us some months back, then the whole fraud made sense.
NNPC just has around 488,000 bpd which they were using for crude swaps. Dangote at full capacity is 650000bpd.
If Dangote is importing petrol, Bloomberg who were first to see the receipts of the order would report to the world that it was petrol but they said crude. You are the one saying petrol because your influenza said so. Why should we reject Bloomberg's report and take the guesses of your political media influenza as truth?

Can you beat your chest that whatever is imported is crude not petrol? With evidence. Or you just believe news put out for your consumption.
The news was first reported by Bloomberg. Did Dangote bribe Bloomberg to report crude when it's actually petrol he ordered.

It seems we have been sleeping on the football rivalry between the North African countries. Go to the Morocco /SA highlights video on YouTube and see Algerians celebrating like crazy. One of them said he will congratulate the Southies for 50 years nonstop😂😂😂.

If not for language barrier, footballing banter with North Africans for sweet die. Those guys are very humorous and passionate with their bantering.
At the root core, it's political.
At least our banter with Ghana is not political just friendly (after 1982) but Morocco and Algeria have been at loggerheads politically.

History555:
Nigeria does. We have 400k barrel for daily consumption used in crude swap. Let them supply it to dangote
Dangote is 650k bpd at full capacity. So the capacity is more than the 400k you say NNPC has. Also, NNPC would still have to supply modular refineries and PH from that as well. So Dangote always knew he would have to back up with importation.

But Dangote claimed to have gotten from NNPc the sufficient quantity of crude to begin production. I'm yet to see 1truck of diesel leave the refinery.
That's the problem with Dangote, NNPC, and almost everything Nigeria. Their communication on these things leaves much to be desired. NNPC is even worse. They make you believe PH refinery would begin December 2023, only to tell you it's mechanical completion.
Politics › Re: See David Hundeyin's 2023 Prediction About Dangote Refinery That Just Came True by GeneralDae: 7:42am On Jan 31, 2024
ShoeGetSize:
Dangote's refinery was supposed to ensure the full indigenisation of every aspect of Nigeria's downstream oil sector from refining to marketing of the finished petroleum products.

Remember, the key objective of the refinery is a 100% Nigerian controlled industry. So we should NOT be hearing ANYTHING about importing either fuel or crude by a refinery which was allegedly built to do the EXACT OPPOSITE.

Anyway, thank you for proving my original point about the average Nigerian's lack of a discernible IQ. You really gave me a good chuckle this morning.
Then what is the point of bringing up David Hundeyi's post? David Hundeyi spoke about Petroleum products importation and that's not what's happening. That doesn't even make any sense because nobody would invest 19 Billion dollars for a refinery only to use it as a storehouse for imported petroleum products. Why go through that stress?

Also, Dangote even right from 2019 in his interviews have made it clear he would not depend only on NNPC alone for crude. He would import crude. So you are wrong. The capacity of the refinery is 650 000bpd at full capacity. NNPC only has about 500,000bpd of crude and can only give Dangote 300,000bpd. So Dangote was always going to import crude.

Also, America exports and imports both crude and refined petrol. Even when we had working refineries (warri and PH), we still imported crude sometimes.

Dangote was built in a free trade zone. The end goal is to import crude from countries and sell refined crude to those countries. If they get 300,000bpd crude from Nigeria, then they allocate to Nigeria that worth of refined petrol.
Politics › Re: See David Hundeyin's 2023 Prediction About Dangote Refinery That Just Came True by GeneralDae: 11:51pm On Jan 30, 2024
So importing crude oil is now thesame as importing petroleum products? Ah na wa oo. School good true true.

If BDC people are contributing to our economic problem

Then let's CBN shed 2 zeros from the Naira to distabilize the parallel market.
If they do that, they destabilise everything equally including the stock market. But I would really like for one zero to be removed from the naira. Then naira becomes around 130-140.

Old story. We are talking near term fix. Wasn't Nigeria import dependent in April 2022 when dollar was still around 500? Did we start importing 3 times more all of a sudden?

You are missing the point. The reason we owe 7 Billion dollars FX backlog today and also can't repatriate dollars to airlines was simply because we held on to that 465 naira for long while the street value ranged from 700 to even 900 naira. We couldn't give them their dollars at that 465 value we quoted.

it's not about diplomacy....it's about board room agreement

There's no trust, if there was, ECO would have happened
What do you mean? Can you give examples of this lack of trust in board room agreements?

Also, ECO was to include the Francophone countries and both of us agree it was sabotaged.

Aside that, there are also economic reasons. The fact that as you said all of these countries have been poor in management of their resources. That is the main reason there is no ECO today at least from a Nigerian perspective and what Nigerian economists were saying then. They rarely talk about France as the major problem. The economic side is more important.

I swear down. Then Chad with their arrogant leader Idris had just dealt a huge blow to Muhammad Ghadafi's Libya. Rather than cool their asses down, they took the fight to Nigeria by ceasing some areas of Borno state.

The then General Muhammed Buhari who seemed to be the military leader controlling that area then took hundreds of his men against that Chadian invading army.

The rest is history. In the first battle, they lost just 9 men but killed over 76 chadians. They pushed the chadians out, not just into Chad but all the way to their capital.

The democratic leader then, Shehu Shagari, was furious with Buhari. He told Buhari to just push them away from Nigerian soil but Buhari pushed them as far as their capital and continued the fight. He had to pull back due to Shagari's adamant insistence that he halts the campaign.

It was alleged in some quarters that this supposed weakness from Shagari in the eyes of then Nigerian military may have been a major reason the military removed him.
Today I blame Obasanjo mainly for the current state of our military. It began with him in 1999. The old generals he sacked, new ones he corrupted with oil money to take their eyes off politics.
This was how we went from an Abacha who sent some of his new recruits to North Korea for special training to the Obasanjo's and Jonathan's who could care less.

Because it is a useless organization and everyone will eventually see it.
If for 20 years you can't implement a single currency because of France's influence over the majority of nations, th n there's no need for the organization
Before we talk about France's influence in stopping the currency (which was unfortunately true), let us talk about the English speaking West African countries. Why can't we come together to implement a single currency?
The reason we can't do that is because we are not sure of the modalities or what this currency would be based on. Gold? Cocoa?Cassava? It definitely would not do us well if based on crude oil.
We also need to improve big trade (beyond the unrecorded informal trades) amongst West Africans first. These are the issues. France is not the biggest issue in my opinion although they are a problem that needs to be dealt with (removed).

Crumble because of Niger, Mali, and Bfaso? I don't think so. Mauritania left before, they came back after 19 years.
But I agree, ECOWAS needs to be reformed, more self dependent, and completely free of France/USA influence.

Moniepoint, a , 🇳🇬 Fintech firm, processed more than 5 billion transactions worth $150 billion last year.

This is only one fintech company processing these sort of transactions for Nigeria.

"Nigerian fintech, Moniepoint, processed over 5 billion in transactions in 2023.The company also boasted a huge increase in businesses using its PoS terminals in 2023.While it did not give specific figures on its personal banking product, which it launched in August 2023, the number of accounts opened monthly has increased by seven times".

Back to our discussion on African Americans and the love for Accra, I just saw a post now which proves your point even further.

I just saw a reel on Instagram by an African American lady who was once in Kenya but relocated to Abuja with her Nigerian man she met in Kenya.

She's visited Benin city a few times and in a post she says Benin city is her favourite city in Nigeria because it gives her those Accra vibes.

So what this would mean is that Benin city gives her that social, community feel like Accra as compared to Lagos (maybe Lagos Islands) and Abuja (especially Abuja).

All radio stations, TV stations, bloggers, skit makers and media houses in Ghana discuss Nigeria, something you will never find Nigerians in Nigeria doing. Ghana is not relevant to Nigeria.
Only Nigerian YouTubers in Ghana discuss Ghana. You would very rarely (if ever at all) find a Nigerian media house discussing Ghana anymore than you would find them discussing Cameroon, South Africa, or any African country.
