Give the little country the flowers it deserve, I mean how could the likes of segun Odegbami, Christian Chukuwu, Steven Keshi, and JJ Okocha play so many years and still deliver only 3 AFCON for us. I feel we should easily be on 9 AFCON trophies by now. Remember Abacha stopped us from going to defend our title in SA in 1996 due to his quarrel with Mandela and we were then banned subsequently in 1998 by CAF and this was supposed to be the golden generation. So you can't blame us too much. Blame Abacha, blame fvcking CAF. |

vaxx: Yet state with high food prices quickly or suddenly adjust their prices based on inflation. Are you using your anus for reasoning? Who is talking about inflation here ... Stop goal post shifting of my write-up. How those living standard and inflation resemble each other
You must be stupid to be thinking I will have time looking for inflation across Nigeria state , I can easily used Google to paste Nigeria stats here based on food inflation if that is what I wanted to do. Ozuor ni eleyi o.
Oshodi houses more Nigeria than gbangbalada ( particularly average nigerians) and the General living standard of lagos is way lesser than Abuja . Hence this fact .it is you staying otherwise . You already stop your feeble argument of trying to ascribe Abuja to uber driving , forgetting that lagosian uses Paragon and BRT more than uber . ( It seem you went silent about that now).
What goes into food prices is directly link what consumer can afford . The standard of the living.
Again , food are more likely to be cheaper in poorer state than in rich Nigeria state... Fact are there But Lagos is a richer state than the city state of Abuja in general, so what are you saying? |
Politics › Re: Kenyans Are Far Behind Nigerians In Every Aspect – Fani-Kayode by GeneralDae: 3:34pm On Feb 03, 2024*. Modified: 3:51pm On Feb 03, 2024 |
vaxx: I don't need to tell you I have been to both cities. Thru my comment , if you have thinkable head , you should know yourself . I initially used oshodi and gbangbalada because it is the most affordable market for average Nigerians .oshodi is in mainland lagos , gbangbalada is also at the lower end of Abuja where majority of those who can not afford the expensive rich lifestyle of Abuja lives . So it is a good example that represents Nigeria at large .
You are a zombie who doesn't understand how basic economics works , osun living standard makes food cheaper not because it is civil servant state or not. If not the likes of ondo state which is also a civil servant state and a closer state to osun state will also be having a cheaper access to food, Enugu is closer to the food basket of the nation ( benue state )and so is anambra , in this state , food are more expensive than edo state that it is not closer to the food nation. You can also called Edo state a civil servant state. Ozuor . Even benue state also share border with cross river state ( another state with high food inflation in Nigeria ).
Benue state to Enugu is five times closer than benue to Abuja regardless of any circumstances. I am sure you don't know benue and Enugu share a border to the west. They are just stone away .
What determines food prices is largely living standard and not accessibility in many occasions . Food are likely to be more cheaper in poorer state than in rich state . Food inflation is not thesame thing as high food prices. Use your head. Now I know what your problem is. You look up food inflation data of Nigerian states, then you assume because there is high food inflation in one state therefore food prices must be higher in that state compared to the other one 😂😂 First of all, how do you know food prices are cheaper in Oshodi compared to Gwagalada? I don't believe it because you said it and I doubt it's true. There is however surplus food in Oshodi more than Gwagalada, so there is the potential for this to be true but I doubt. However, even if true ( because I have never been to Gwagalada or seen anyone do this comparison) this is still a false comparison because Gwagalada has no huge market but Oshodi is the home of huge informal market spaces. You cannot isolate few places when we are making a general argument. It doesn't do justice to your point. Finally, I told you Abuja does not need to depend on Benue but you are not reading. Like I have said, no one who has lived in Lagos and Abuja would say food and transportation is cheaper. Lagos with high traffic congestion cannot definitely have cheaper transportation also than Abuja where the roads are mostly free and interconnected. |
Politics › Re: Kenyans Are Far Behind Nigerians In Every Aspect – Fani-Kayode by GeneralDae: 3:01pm On Feb 03, 2024 |
vaxx: Don't be stupid . Your evidence are without a fact.
Food cost price is based on the living standard of the people. Hence the reason you will get food as cheaply as possible in oshodi market than gbangbalada in Abuja . Benue and kogi state are more closer to enugu and anambra state yet food are more expensive than osun state that is far away apart
I forget , You know even sabi Lulu Briggs. You are the one arguing stupidly here. I can show you several clips of people who have been to both cities saying thesame thing I've said. You are talking of Oshodi, we are speaking in general, both Lagos and Abuja how cheap is food one to another. You obviously have not been to both cities nor do you know but you argue. Also, Osun state is mainly for civil servants and farmers, so why won't food be cheap there? Enugu and the South East in general is made up mostly of small businesses, than farmers and farms. So your argument holds no water because you haven't even considered bad roads, modes of transportation, and other factors between Benue and Enugu. This is why Abuja has the advantage because it has several major agric centered states nearby not just one but about four all around. |

vaxx: Then you are mad
this is the part of insult I am saying, ( many nigerians don't know their country) so because Abuja is closer to food producing state therefore food must be cheaper than state that produces less. You be ozuor .
Buisness aren't like that in many occasions, it is lagerly based on living standard of the people. Benue is more closer to enugu than osun state. have you asked yourself why food is more expensive in enugu than osun state . There's no one who has been to Abuja and Lagos who would say food is cheaper in Lagos than Abuja. Just admit you were wrong and let it go or you show me one person saying it. Abuja is not just close to Benue only but to many Agric powerhouses. Benue, Kogi, Kaduna, Nassarawa, Niger. They are many so food just comes from everywhere more easily. |
Politics › Re: FG Not Considering Converting $30 Billion Domiciliary Deposit To Naira. by GeneralDae: 12:38pm On Feb 03, 2024 |
ivolt: Actually, it does. You have a distorted market because the players knows that the banks are struggling to meet demands.
People started talking about black markets when the Naira rates collapsed, not before.
We are talking about billions of dollars demand deficit and you think merely unifying the rate will make any meaningful impact.
You can have a unified rate but you can never have stable rates without addressing supply. Whatever it is, I want a unified rate first. So that when supply comes, there is no market distortion that swallows supply. All players should be brought together and the market seen as one so that the rates always move together. Federal Government should stop pinning down a particular rate to make available to only a few. |

samorobo: Exactly. The funniest thing is that years back when we had thin university convo, he discredited times higher when i brought it up and said their methodology does not adequately determine will uni is better , but now that nonsense legion top Nigeria’s uni , the werey is hawking it in his head like gala. All of a sudden the methodology is good. Out of the about 5 major credible ranking bodies, I think times higher is even the least because people hardly take them seriously. The reason is that their methodology is narrow and somewhat limited mostly to number of research papers submitted. So looking at it comprehensively, Nigerian schools are still ranked the best. UI is always up there across all rankings, except for times higher ranking which puts Covenant University ahead of UI. |
Politics › Re: FG Not Considering Converting $30 Billion Domiciliary Deposit To Naira. by GeneralDae: 12:11pm On Feb 03, 2024 |
ivolt: That's a good idea for transparency though it will have very little impact. The elephant in the room, demand/supply ratio is the silver bullet. This would reform the market first before you talk of demand and supply. Demand and supply alone in a distorted market does not help you much especially in terms of stability when there is a global disruption or when the US FED increases rate. |

RepoMan007: No dollar no dollar yet we have so much dollar seating idle and hoping it sells for N5000. Now the exchange rate has been collapsed properly, those speculators will start scheming to have the naira weaken on both windows so they can sell with profit. I blame the FG who kept pumping cheap dollar into banks and trusting them to sell it cheap. At this stage, federal Government should see all market players as one including crypto, foreign IMTO's and BDC's. Just digitize BDC's and make sure they are all Licensed. Anyone who wants to trade FX, just need a NIN or ID card. All Banks and Licensed BDC's must be monitored and report their weekly transactions to the CBN. Rates and volumes should also be reported live across all platforms. With these regulations, there should be no black market or official market but one integrated market where prices are spread across a range of 25 naira ie if UBA Bank is selling at 1000 naira, First Bank can be selling at 985 naira, Tap Tap send at 990, BDC's at 975 naira, and cryptos at 980 naira. |

Many nigerians family have been referred to Ghana hospital from Nigeria ( particularly those who cannot afford European and american hospital. Kole bu teaching hospital for instance.
Apart from Ghana being ahead of Nigeria in basic education and waec standard, Ghana also lead in tertiary institution, university of cape coast is currently the 7th best in africa according to times , higher at ahead if any Nigerian it Kenyan universities. Infrastructure wise , no Nigeria university can compete Legon both in architecture and fercility. Lol you are funny. Who is Lulu Briggs? There are also many who go to Lagos hospitals. So I don't know what you are talking about. At the moment, there is a huge influx of Nigerians from the UK at various Lagos Hospitals due to the waiting time for appointments in the UK. As for University rankings, it depends on what ranking you are looking at. I think only Times Higher Education rankings put a Ghanaian school ahead of UI in Nigeria but other rankings differ. Even if we go with Times Higher rankings, Nigerian universities still dominate the list of top universities in Africa and Ghana has just one at the top. Nigeria has 170 Universities. How can Ghana compete with something like that. |

Now rehearse and rewrite your note for your dusty slummy country has been so faaar left behind.
Nothing in Nigeria impresses a Ghanaian, on most occasions we are just shocked at the nonsense that comes out of your country. Lol. Lagos alone would compete with Ghana in terms of health services and health infrastructure (whatever that means). It is a home of many private hospitals and there is hardly any advanced medical infrastructure you won't find in Lagos. So what do you mean by health? The largest medical center in perhaps all of Africa today is being built in Abuja (started in 2021). In terms of education, I don't see why you say Ghana is doing better. Maybe Ghana would compete in education at primary/secondary level but definitely not at the tertiary level. If you say infrastructure again (like the last time), what exactly do you mean? Even Borno state which was war torn between 2009 and 2017 has so many public schools spread across with a few state universities or maybe you say this because KNUST is beautiful. I don't get your parameters clearly though. |
