Marjoribanks: Exactly what I am talking about. Sar's fortunate goal made the Cameroonians scared and they had no choice but to attack leaving so much space behind. The same way Cameroon goal unsettled Senegal and Cameroon should have deservedly equalized. Sars goal was a beautiful, well taken goal. I don't know what you mean by fortunate goal. Before sars goal (which was early), are you saying Cameroon were threatening or more compact in midfield? because I didn't see it. Also, why should a goal be enough to destabilise a good team from playing well? Egyptians were supposed to be even more destabilized by Ghana's goal coming after Sallah's injury. Didn't Egypt switch the tempo immediately? Did Egypt leave their midfield porous while pressing for the equaliser? Cameroon just didn't show any bright spot until late in the game when they got a goal and then believed they could equalise but Senegal outplayed them all round. |

Marjoribanks: Cameroon was the better team before Sar's goal from corner kick. That goal unsettled Cameroon and gave Senegal confidence. Onana made no single safe too. The Senegalese goals came against the run of play! And Cameroon should have deservedly equalized just before Senegal 3rd goal. Gambia is a sure 3 point for Cameroon! I don't know what game we both watched but Senegal always looked more dangerous throughout that game until Cameroon scored their first goal to make it 2-1. The touches, passes, rhythm, etc were all round better done by the Senegalese in that game. They had so much space especially in midfield and always looked like they could open up Cameroon at will. |

Marjoribanks: We might meet Cameroon if we top our group.
I would have preferred Guinea!
Cameroon has been the best team in that group but has been unlucky! Cameroon were outclassed by Senegal for about 70 minutes in that game with no shot on goal until then. How can you say they have been the best team in the group? This Gambia wen I dey see so fit nak Cameroon akpako if Cameroon nor take care. |

vankelvin: Such cruelty How do you commit such stupid act in another man's country. They never change The story is still not very clear. A Kenyan killed a Nigerian man and Kenyan lady few months ago with their bodies cut in pieces while in this particular case, the news was that a Nigerian was arrested but it's still not very clear who the Nigerian is or what his name/details are. Today I also heard of speculations that it's a Mozambique national not Nigerian. So I cannot ascertain for now who did this because there seem to be speculation all over the place. This is not to say Nigerians do not have criminals in foreign lands as do many other nationals but that this particular story is still full of speculations. If any one is sure, they should give us the name/details of this so called Nigerian. |

rvp2018: Show me the plan. Nairobi growth been driven by private sector n now Kenya gov is adding the second engine...a million houses with investment of more than 25B dollars...show which other sub Saharan Africa is doing it.The housing levy alone will collect nearly a billion annually n investors will pump 10 times You write as though we are not in Africa where promises are made by Government officials like they are out of fashion. If you say private sector players are making promises, then fine (although successful executions would still be based on a number of factors) but Government? no. Common sense alone tells me Kenyan Government at present have too many problems and cannot undertake such a huge project. Ruto makes lots of promises but they are mostly vibes. |

Stop making stupid arguments. What exactly is going on in Nairobi that is special or way above what's going on in at least one of Lagos, Dakar, Abidjan, Accra, Abuja, etc? |

rvp2018: Nairobi just getting started... construction going on driven by Chinese,Somalis, Eritreans n Kenyans is staggering. The city is being redeveloped at pace only comparable to Asia Cities Most cities in Africa are also been redeveloped at great pace not just Nairobi. My post was that Nairobi had a good head start. Even as far back as 2009 and 2010, a Nigerian traveller I read on a blog then (who also knew West Africa well) made this observation. Since then many West African cities have been developing fast and catching on e.g Lagos, Accra, Abidjan, Dakar, and Cotonou. Lots of development going on in these cities. Some I dare say at a pace greater than that of Nairobi. |

vaxx: Probably that person is typing after a heavy dose of banku. Nairobi is not in anywhere developed than lagos , Accra , dakar and abidjan . Unless development means high rise building only . It's painful to say but let's face it. Nairobi has more finesse than any other West African city from all YouTube Videos I've seen over the years and I've seen a lot. Dakar, Abidjan, and Lagos (mainly Ikoyi and VI) are up there but at this moment, Nairobi in particular is ahead of these cities in the development curve. Accra is also developing fast with good diaspora influx but cannot be compared to Nairobi at the moment especially the best parts of Nairobi. Nairobi has been kinda free and hospitable to foreigners and foreign investments from India and Europe for decades compared to much of West Africa. Note: When I say Nairobi or Accra or Lagos, etc. I am comparing their best areas only e.g Westlands, Cantonement, Airport road, Ikoyi, VI, etc. |

Injury aside no body in that Midfield can bench Halimatu Ayinde in her Position right now.. Ayinde sure. But the post I replied to already lamented how unreliable it is to bank on her due to the rate at which she gets injured. So we were speaking of players to take the baton in her absence. |

mostob: That 9 is very important. We need a striker! Thank God we now have a solid midfield. The like of Umeh, Elisha and Edna should be called up and assessed in friendly matches to determine if they fit in (they will surely). Otu and Mbadi should be given chances too... I'm scared of Ayinde's injury issues lately. Otu maybe, Mbadi?? not so sure. But I would pick Christy and Abiodun as regular starters always. |

Ustec: If the price of PMS doesn't fall, Then It means we have been duped by the government. Price of PMS falling would depend largely on the Warri and PH refineries because then NNPC would just allocate crude for itself and decide to sell at a cheaper rate not necessarily the dollar rate. Dangote on the other hand most likely bought crude in dollars and to pay back his debt and pay his foreign workers, he also would likely charge for the equivalent price in dollars. Only the cost of importation is removed. So even if there is a reduction when Dangote sells, it most likely wouldn't be above 70 naira reduction. |

But their leader Lee Kuan Yew rose to the occasion. I think you mistake Singapore for Indonesia. I mean Lee Kuan Yew's rule was a dictatorship for decades. Sorry for using the term military rule. What I really meant to say was that Singapore was under a dictatorship. |

You Can partake in innocent banter without the need for Unkle Rukus.
The City State of Singapore and The Continent of Africa are on such completely different situational spectrums comparing them is arbitrary those irrelevant. Exactly. Singapore had uninterrupted military rule for 30 years before they adopted the usual democracy (demonstration of craze). A military man who loved his people and was also smart. How many African countries had that luxury with coup upon coup and political instability everywhere until around 2 decades ago and some even just a decade ago? |

IMASTEX: You have stated the obvious and I quite partially agree with you on the business angle. Meanwhile, the government owes it a responsibility to create a balance in the system. I.e. a person can decide to sell a yam for 10k per yam. Same yam he bought from a farmer at 200 & other cost 500 making a total of 700 expenses incurred. And make 9k profit especially on essential products yet the govt will look the other way. So it's more of exploitation rather than business. These are also one of the artificial causes of inflation. No regulations on profit ratio. Not to mention the strengthening & support for market monopoly by government actions & inactions. This will continue to create the wide gap there by enriching the rich & weakening the poor. This is my general observation of the Nigeria business environment. On the Dangote refinery, there won't be price cut neither will it improve the pressure on forex. The only merit is that there will be product availability. It can reduce the pressure on FX if we make a good deal. |

justtoodark: it doesnt make any economical sense anyways....
its like tellin me to give you 20 kilos of yams to get 2 kilos of pounded yam powder.... It makes sense because crude oil can be used to produce so many products not just PMS. Crude oil is valuable and in this crude swap deal, Dangote is spared from paying for it and then export the excess. |
