He just made himself clear by saying that the society expects more from his lecturers and if they don't deliver, the investment made to them amounts to a waste.
Check the history of UNILAG, even right from the era of Professor Awoniyi, Prof Akin Adesola, they always have people and students like this. There was even Olusegun Maiyegun who wears a natural heavy fearsome dreadlock and was the predecessor of Sowore. UNILAG has its history and tradition and clearly a matured university, not just a first class first generation university by mouth.
Don't you see that Sowore is already giving him his Sahara reporters platform to push Femi's struggle.
This is UNILAG. They are masters at objective and constructive aluta and they always get what they want!!
Enough of your UNILAG bragging . That dude is obviously too disrespectful and uncouth to be given a fair hearing. You aren't the only UNILAG alumni here please.

[s]Any sane mind devoid of sentiment that border on tribal and religious loyalty will know that the PDP is infact, more than responsible for the recent economic recession happening in the country today.

But, be that as it may, any sane mind should ask what the current government is doing to ameliorate the harsh economic conditions being felt in the country today.

Blaming the PDP isn't going to do squat, that much is known, so rather than conducting online polls where most of the people who participated in the poll are fuelled by tribal and religious loyalty, I'd say it's about time the government of PMB start working on ways to put an end to this nonsense.

Pointing fingers doesn't give people jobs, neither does it feed anybody and put money in people's pockets.

The Federal Government’s policy on rice import is designed to save the country $2.5 billion yearly, Minister of Agriculture and Rural Development, Akinwumi Adesina has said.

The government placed a new policy on rice import to promote local rice production and attain self-sufficiency by next year.

Adesina explained that high-quality Nigerian rice is in the market, adding that the country will be a net exporter of rice.

“Today, Nigeria is feeding itself, since a nation that cannot feed itself is simply at the mercy of others subject to the volatility of global commodity markets. Soon, Nigerian rice will become global exhibition.

“Our rice self-sufficiency policy was directed at saving Nigeria $2.5 billion annually and putting this into the hands of our rice farmers and rural communities,” Adesina was quoted to have said in a statement.

THE Backward Integration Programme (BIP ) policy in the rice sector put in place by the federal ministry of Agriculture to boost local rice production with the approval of an inbuilt tariff/levy differential deliberately skewed in favour of investors has been commended by stakeholders. The policy, which is said to have attracted more than $1.6 billion of private sector investments, allows investors to temporarily import brown or finished rice to bridge the present gap in supply and demand.

Under Jonathan, minimum wage for federal workers was increased from 7000 to 18000, where did the extra money come from?

Under Jonathan, the FG was paying billions of naira monthly to subsidize petroleum products whose prices kept rising as the price of crude oil rose. A subsidy he tried to remove but was vehemently resisted by the citizens.

Under Jonathan more power
stations costing billions of dollars were completed and made operational.

Under Jonathan old and dilapidated railways were brought back to life (PH Enugu) and brand new standard guage ones (Abuja kaduna ) were also built. These cost billions of dollars to build.

Under Jonathan, perennial death traps like Benin Ore road were rebuilt, these cost billions of dollars.

Under Jonthan, 9 new Federal universities were built, OBJ built none.

Under Jonathan some university
lecturers began earning bigger salaries. Where did the money come from?

Under Jonathan, billions of naira was injected into the amnesty program (initiated by Yaradua). This was done to ensure uninhibited flow of oil. The money came from somewhere.

Under Jonathan our military which had been deliberately abandoned for many years was revamped with billions of dollars to fight boko haram. That money came from somewhere

Yeah the government has made some bad choices which has made the crisis worse, but saying the crisis in itself is a fault of the present government is wrong.

A man who earns 100k monthly but struggles to feed his family suddenly gets a pay cut to 40k and he has no savings, c'mon! We don't need a soothsayer to interpret the obvious signs that there is a major crisis already at hand. Yes the man may have made some wrong choices following the slash in salary which may have added salt to an open injury, but the real culprit here is the over 60% loss in income; it would certainly take some time for the man to bounce back to his feet and his family would definitely go through severe pain in the interim.
There was no savings yet this man was able to bail his extended ones to cater for their subordinates. Where did this money come from, his slashed salary ?

This same man simply refused to unite his family under one umbrella to breed trust and cooperation necessary to weather the storm, he ended up showing clear favoritism to selected few who unfortunately didn't have the key to contribute financially. Thus dwindling his resources further.

This same man ensured his archaic mentality to micromanage his family saw to the demise of the little businesses his children were engaging which was quite helpful at the time.

This man is a disaster that was fostered on all of us by the ignorant ones like you.

[s]Your family and relatives and all Wailers families will suffer more. I still have no regret voting out the ineffectual buffoon and his gang of thieves. Benin Republic would have bought over Nigeria from either ATM-Dasuki or from ex-militant Tompolo if the drunk fisherman is still drinking ogogoro in Aso Rock. But Benin Republic would not be able to have Nigeria because Asari Dokuboh and Tony Anenih would have also sold Nigeria to Togo with the help of the puff-puff cheeked World Bank fraudster and voodoo economist who supervised the looting of the nation's resources Madam NOI.

Things are very hard in the country. Prices of everything have gone up. Salaries are exhausted before the middle of the month. People are hungry and angry. The situation is pathetic. There is poverty in the land. When we had plenty, the looters refused to save for the rainy days by diversifying our economy, now we are really suffering. But, I know that hard decisions will be taken by the current government, the masses will complain more bitterly, but in no distance future, between now and the end of 2017, Nigeria will rise again. Our diversification into solid minerals and agriculture would yield abundant wealth and food for everyone. We shall see the results of today's actions. There is light at the end of the tunnel.[/s]

PoliticsNigeria’s Warplanes Consume 1.9Million Litres Of Fuel Monthly by Geniro(op): 12:49am On Aug 31, 2016
The Nigerian Air Force (NAF) on Tuesday said its planes consumed an average of 1.9 million litres of aviation fuel each month to fight and prosecute insurgency in the North-East. The Chief of the Air Staff (CAS), Sadiq Abubakar, an Air Marshal, made the disclosure at the opening ceremony of the NAF Logistics Seminar held in Lagos.

The seminar was tagged: “Repositioning NAF logistics for Efficient Employment of Air Power in response to Contemporary National Security Imperatives’’. The ceremony was attended by the Minister of Defense, Muhammad Dan-Ali, who was represented by the Ministry’s Permanent Secretary, Danjuma Sheni. Also present was the General Officer Commanding (GOC) 81 Division, Maj.-Gen. Isidore Edet; Flag Officers Commanding (FOCs) Western Naval and Logistics Commands, Rear Adm. Fergusson Bobai and Beegroy Ibe-Enwo, respectively. Air Officers Commanding (AOCs) Logistics and Tactical Commands, Air Vice Marshal Sani Ahmed and Air Marshal Muhammad Mohammed, were also present at the ceremony.

According to the CAS, the NAF has managed to continue its operations across the country despite the scarcity of aviation fuel because it was determined to ensure that no Nigerian territory was under siege.
To support air operations in the North-East, the NAF must put an excellent plan that will ensure availability of aviation fuel in the operational area, whether the product is locally available or not.
“The service consumed an average of 1.9 million liters of aviation fuel monthly.
“The main fighter air plane we use consumes 2500 liters/hour and we fly at least two air planes at a time.
“At that consumption rate, the two consume 5000 liters every hour and we run two missions.
“So, we are talking of about 10,000 liters just for one aircraft time.
“We have so many other airplanes like the Alpha jets which consume 2400 liters/hour.
“They also fly in formation and that means about 4800 liters.
“There are other air planes that fly on daily basis.

“Our desire is to ensure no territory of Nigeria is under any threat.
“To achieve that, we must have sound logistics strategy to ensure that materials and spare parts are available when required.
“Our logisticians, therefore, must work assiduously to ensure the product is available for operation.
“In a war situation, no excuse is acceptable.
“To ensure we build capacity in logistics planning, the NAF has embarked on training and retraining both within and outside Nigeria,” he said
Abubakar said the service consistently sought ways of standardising its logistics procedures and operations in line with current global best practices.
According to him, the seminar was apt, considering the current security situation in the country which requires discipline and detailed planning.
“To address the situation, the NAF must together carefully plan a strategy not only for the movement of equipment and personnel to theatre of operations, but also for the maintenance of its air assets.
“It is only when we get the strategy right that we can hope to effectively and efficiently deploy air power necessary to address the challenges facing Nigeria,’’ he said.
In his address, Mr. Dan-Ali assured that more Boko Haram hostages would be rescued; urging security personnel who had made huge sacrifices to ensure the country stayed united.
“Combat operations against insurgents in the North-East are still ongoing.
“NAF has remained a major player in carrying out aerial bombardment leading to the destruction of Boko Haram elements’ camps and dislodging them from their strongholds within Sambisa Forest and adjoining enclaves.
“The sustained air operations have granted a greater latitude to the ground troops to rescue additional hostages mostly women and children who were abducted by the insurgents.
“Boko Haram’s will to fight has been seriously downgraded,’’ he said.

The AOC, Logistics Command, Air Vice Marshal Sani Ahmed, in his remarks lauded the CAS for his concerted efforts to enhance facilities and infrastructure of the service. He stated that the Logistics Command was poised to provide robust logistics support for the NAF fleets.
Ahmed added that they were striving to evolve a credible, responsive and responsible logistics system that would guarantee timely, effective and efficient air support in all theatres of operation.
