Nope

You are better off having a B.Sc in a professional course than a PhD in a useless course like botany

Atleast with a professional course you can still practice what you learnt prior to a dream job

Hello dear. You are totally wrong in your baseless claim. Every degree course is a professional course. No course is useless. All serve different areas of professionalism. You need to get your intellect articulated.

Career / Re: 11 Ways To Be Logical And Smart In Thinking And Actions by GentleNaaz(m): 5:37pm On Apr 09, 2020
9) Avoid Vague and Ambiguous Language.

“Vague” and “ambiguous” both come from Latin words that mean “wandering.” Vague and ambiguous language tends to wander around ideas rather than having a fixed, definite meaning. A logical person uses precise language so that his listener knows exactly what he is talking about and can adequately evaluate the truth of his claims. If he refers to more complex terms such as “freedom” or “equality,” he makes sure to establish his particular understanding of those terms.

10) Avoid Evasive Language.

“The problem with evasive language, language that does not state directly what a speaker or writer has in mind, is twofold. First, and obviously, it can deceive an audience. Second, and more subtly, it can have a deleterious effect on the people who use it, distorting their sense of reality. The user shapes language, but language shapes the user as well. If we consistently use language that serves to distort reality, we can eventually come to believe our own twisted rhetoric.

11) Seek to Arrive at the Truth of Things.

The purpose of logic, according to McInerny, is to arrive at the truth of things. He explains that there are two basic forms of truth: “ontological” truth—what actually exists and has real being; and “logical” truth—the truth of statements. Ultimately, he reminds us, “What determines the truth or falsity of a statement is what actually exists in the real world. Logical truth, in other words, is founded upon ontological truth.”

The authentically logical person, therefore, keeps his logic rooted in truth and never lets it devolve into mere verbal trickery.

Career / 11 Ways To Be Logical And Smart In Thinking And Actions by GentleNaaz(m): 5:26pm On Apr 09, 2020
11 WAYS TO BE LOGICAL AND SMART IN ACTIONS

1) Allow the Mind to Lead, Not the Emotion.

First of all, allow the mind to lead you. Do not give room for emotions. We can be logical and smarter when the mind leads us, not the emotion.

2) Be Attentive.

Many mistakes in reasoning are explained by the fact that we are not paying sufficient attention to the situation in which we find ourselves. The logical person has thus trained himself to always pay attention to the details — even in situations that are familiar — lest he make a careless judgment.

3) Get the Facts Straight.

If a given fact is an actually existing thing to which we have access, then the surest way to establish its factualness is to put ourselves in its presence. We then have direct evidence of it. If we cannot establish factualness by direct evidence, we must rigorously test the authenticity and reliability of whatever indirect evidence we appeal to so that, on the basis of that evidence, we can confidently establish the factualness of the thing.

4) Ensure that your Ideas are Clear.

Our ideas are the means by which our minds understand the objective world; refer to number 1. Clear ideas faithfully reflect that world, whereas unclear ideas give us a distorted view of the world. The logical person is constantly testing his ideas to make sure that they accurately depict their objects.

5) Be Mindful of the Origins of your Ideas.

The logical person knows which of his ideas are based on things that actually exist in the world. He knows, for instance, that his idea of “cat” corresponds to things in the objective world known as “cats.” As a counterexample, there are a lot of people who have an idea that there existed a female pope named Joan in the 9th century. But if they spent time looking into the source of that idea, they would find that it’s widely regarded by respectable historians to have originated in legend.

6) Match Ideas to Facts.

To prevent youridea from being a product of pure subjectivism, in which case it could not be communicated to others, you must continuously touch base with those many facts in the objective world from which the idea was born. This is easy to do with ideas that have a simple correspondence to things in the world outside our minds (e.g. my idea of “cat” refers to an actual cat). It’s much harder to do, as we’ve all experienced, with more complex ideas such as capitalism and socialism, or conservatism and liberalism. For these ideas to remain sound, they must constantly be linked to, and supported by, facts that are accessible to all.

7) Match Words to Ideas.

We can only communicate our ideas to others if we use words that accurately convey those ideas. But finding the right words can be difficult. When difficulty arises, we should go back to the sources:

"How do we ensure that our words are adequate to the ideas they seek to convey? The process is essentially the same as the one we follow when confirming the clarity and soundness of our ideas: We must go back to the sources of the ideas. Often we cannot come up with the right word for an idea because we don’t have a firm grasp on the idea itself. Usually, when we clarify the idea by checking it against its source in the objective world, the right word will come to us.”

cool Communicate Effectively.

Logic is ultimately about determining whether statements/situations are true or false. If others are to accurately determine a statement’s truth, it needs to be communicated to them in a clear manner. Don’t assume your audience understands your meaning if you don’t make it explicit. Speak in complete sentences. Don’t treat evaluative statements (e.g. “That work of art is ugly”) as if they were statements of objective fact. Avoid double negatives. Gear your language to your audience.

Career / 5 Thoughts You Should Have Daily by GentleNaaz(m): 11:13am On Dec 01, 2019
5 thoughts you should have daily

1. No matter how busy your schedules are; no matter how occupied you may be, always pray to and believe in God, unshakably. Do your part and leave the rest for God.

2. You can partee after partee, you may even jogodo or totori mi one time, two times, three times or even four times, but never waste your most productive years (especially between 25 to 45). Trust me, if you waste these years, you may regret it and may also become a liability to people around you. Then you will realize that odi kwa risky, especially when you imagine life without money. No body will give you assurance to slap police for your case.

3. No matter how brilliant you are; no matter the thoughts that constitute your mindset; no matter how religious you may be; you may even be the most righteous born again; no matter your perception about life,... always develop skills, business acumen, and/or connections that will get you fortune. In addition, always know that money is the solution to at least 90% of your problems on Earth. Get more money in any legitimate and legal means; but not at the detriment of humanity or your relationship with people.

4. Be happy with what you have, where you are, whom you have become, and where you are heading, while strategizing and working towards something better. Be resilient and proactive.

5. Always help and show love to people without expecting anything in return, not even thank you. Do it for humanity.

Romance / 12 Types Of Women Every Man Shouldn't Marry If He Wants Peace by GentleNaaz(m): 11:17am On Jun 28, 2018
1. The Bitter Woman:

You know that woman that always seems to be angry at the menfolk all the time? Perhaps she has had her heart broken one too many times, but this woman is always bashing on men and talking about how they are no-good or useless. A man might not want to settle down with someone so bitter as it is guaranteed that when the opportunity arises, she would hurl hurtful insults and intense, hateful words his way due to all her unresolved anger.

2. The Selfish Woman:

If you want a happy home and a partner that wants your happiness as well as hers, then you should steer clear of the selfish woman. A woman who is determined to make sure she always comes first would not be able to build a cheerful and loving home with you.

3. The Materialistic Woman:

A woman obsessed with material things would certainly not make the best wife. If all she cares about are material possession over family, faith and spiritual fulfillment, then she will not make the best partner.

4. The Flirty Woman:

Are you attracted to that woman that always seems to flirt with one person or another? She flirts like a butterfly from one man to another and makes all men feel like she is interested in them. Well, beware, because a habit like that might be hard to break after marriage and you would not want to start hearing that your wife has had flirty conversations with all the men in the neighbourhood.

5. The Party Freak:

She is invited to every party and attends them all. She is always dressed in the most flashy clothes and is the ultimate party girl. She lives for the next big gathering and cannot say no to an invitation. Such woman might not be the type to settle down in a marriage.

6. The Spoilt-Brat:

A woman who grew up having everything handed to her and has never had the experience of actually working for something is unlikely to make the best wife. No matter how much you might be willing to provide her with the kind of lifestyle she grew up with, remember, marriage comes with kids and kids require sacrifice. If she has never had to work or make sacrifices for anything in her life, it is unlikely that she would start now.

7. The Social Media Queen:

If she sleeps and wakes up in facebook, whatsapp, twitter, snapchat, etc., then you have to be very careful. At least 99% of women on social media, do one major thing; chatting, in addition to other parochial activities. It's unfortunate that the chats are mostly with men. Don't ever think she will stop chatting after official wedding. Experience has shown the frequency either remains the same or increases instead after wedding. Social media expose women to cheating. You can easily spot them out by the "last seen" info. Usually, you will notice they spend late nights, sometimes all night, chatting. Over 85% of feminine chats are with men. The so-called smart ones hide these details and turn off the "last seen" info.

8. The Attention Seeker:

While some women naturally like attention, when it becomes an obsession, then it is not a good idea. A good husband makes sure he has time for his wife, but this cannot happen 100percent of the time so a good wife should understand that.

9. The Gossip:

Does she always seem to never mind her own business? Is she always focused on what someone else is doing or how someone else is living their life? Then you do not need this kind of woman as a wife. A man needs someone that would build a home with him and this requires some focus on her own plans and her own life. If she is too busy minding someone else's business, then you are fighting a losing battle.

10. The Commitment-Phobe:

A woman who finds it difficult to commit to anything (school, jobs, family, friendship, etc) would also not be able to commit to a marriage. If she seems to lose interest in everything quickly and is always looking for the next thing to jump into, then you would have a hard time keeping her focused in her marriage.

11. The Disrespectful Woman:

If she seems to always be disrespectful and rude (even if it is to people she considers beneath her standards) then you need to think twice about marrying her. Respect for a fellow human being is a very important attribute in who we choose to spend the rest of our lives with so it is definitely not something that should be taken lightly.

12. The Call Busy Queen:

Whenever you call, her number is mostly busy or switched off. She tells you she has a conference or meeting to attend and you shouldn't bother calling her because her lines will not be available for days/weeks. Sometimes when you resolve to probe into the said events, you realize things ain't exactly as she says.

Politics / Why Nigerian Youths Are Not Lazy by GentleNaaz(m): 1:11pm On Apr 21, 2018
WHY NIGERIAN YOUTHS ARE NOT LAZY

Having critically examined the recent unfortunate diatribe credited to the president of the most populous black nation, Nigeria. A diatribe so unfortunate that his media aids were thrown into state of discombobulation, and couldn't compose articulated missive to conjure damage control. The diatribe is a monumental national disgrace of epic proportions.

It beats the imagination of our national elites, and well wishers, on why the president made such dismissive and flagrant statement during a summit of Commonwealth leaders, instead of wooing investors to tap into the untapped potentials of our robust and intelligent populace (youths).

Nigerian youths are not lazy. Many are captains of industries, successful entrepreneurs, academics, leaders of thoughts, among others. We have highly skilled and educated youths who are successful drivers of their professions.

I have brothers, sisters, and friends who have successfully weathered through the extremely challenging hyperinflation in Nigeria to become successful men and women, and leaders in their chosen endeavors and professions. Many are successfully pulling through their degree studies and research, business niche, etc. with little or no assistance from the government.

A typical Nigerian youth is ambitious, hardworking, educated, diligent, and always ready to lead and deliver in all his endeavors. Nigerian youths are not lazy. There are too many untapped potentials in a typical Nigerian youth.

Mr. President, Nigerian youths are not lazy.

God bless the youths!

Career / Six Leadership Principles To Learn From An Eagle by GentleNaaz(m): 4:04am On Jan 21, 2018
SIX LEADERSHIP PRINCIPLES TO LEARN FROM AN EAGLE

1. *Eagles fly Alone and at High Altitudes.*
They don't fly with sparrows, ravens, and other small birds. Aim higher and dream bigger than others think is normal.

*MEANING*; Stay away from narrow-minded people, those that bring you down. Eagle flies with Eagles. Keep good company.

2. *Eagles have an Accurate Vision.*
They have the ability to focus on something as far as 5km away. No matter the obstacles, the eagle will not move his focus from the prey until he grabs it.

*MEANING*; Have a vision and remain focused no matter what the obstacles and you will succeed.

3. *Eagles do not Eat Dead things. They Feed only on Fresh Prey.*

*MEANING*; Do not rely on your past success, keep looking for new frontiers to conquer. Leave your past where it belongs, in the past.

4. *Eagles Love the Storm.*
When clouds gather, the eagle gets excited, the eagle uses the storms wind to lift itself higher. Once it finds the wind of the storm, the eagle uses the raging storm to lift itself above the clouds. This gives the eagle an opportunity to glide and rest its wings. In the meantime, all the other birds hide in the branches and leaves of the tree.

*MEANING*; Face your challenges head on knowing that these will make you emerge stronger and better than you were. We can use the storms of life to rise to greater heights. Achievers are not afraid to rise to greater heights. Achievers are not afraid of challenges, rather they relish them and use them profitably.

5. *Eagles Prepare for Training;*
They remove the feathers and soft grass in the nest so that the young ones get uncomfortable in preparation for flying and eventually flies/ when it becomes unbearable to stay in the nest./

*MEANING*; Leave your Comfort Zone, there is No Growth there.

6. *When the Eagle Grows Old,*
His feathers becomes weak and cannot take him as fast and as high as it should. This makes him weak and could make him die. So he retires to a place far away in the mountains. While there, he plucks out the weak feathers on his body and breaks its beaks and claws against the rocks until he is completely bare; a very bloody and painful process. Then he stays in this hiding place until he has grown new feathers, new beaks and claws and then he comes out flying higher than before.

*MEANING*; We occasionally need to shed off old habit no matter how difficult, things that burden us or add no value to our lives should be let go of.

*NEVER GIVE UP,*
*LEARN FROM EAGLE*

Career / Five Things You Need To Be More Successful And Confident In 2018 by GentleNaaz(m): 6:37am On Jan 03, 2018
Five things you need to be more successful and confident in 2018

1. Cut some people out of your life:
This might sound harsh. The most confident people are very discerning when it comes to their friendships. Whether they don’t support you or belittle you in front of others, there are some people that just aren’t worth having around.

2. Use your intuition:
One thing interviews with successful and confident people have revealed is that they all tend to listen to their gut.

3. Listen to your inner voice:
“Be mindful of an inner voice that tells you: ‘Oh no, I can’t cope with this, I need change and improvement' You can. A new, flexible approach helps you face such fears,”

4. Don’t rely on others:
“Become your own barometer of you,” The best kind of confidence boost is one that comes from within yourself.

5. Cut off these categories of friends from your life;
a. Friend(s) who like taking advantage of everyone, including yourself.
b. Friend(s) who do not have clearly defined goals and objectives.
c. Friend(s) who have (defined) goals and objectives, but couldn't give logical and cogent blueprints on how to achieve them.
d. Friend(s) who are not proud of their lifestyle
e. Friend(s) whose values are inconsistent with yours
f. Friend(s) who suffer chronic addiction to gambling, smoking, betting, alcoholism; and aren't considering quitting.

Business / Eight Ways To Improve Your Chance Of Becoming Wealthy In Life by GentleNaaz(m): 11:31am On Oct 06, 2017
EIGHT THINGS YOU NEED TO DO TO BE WEALTHY

1. Wake up early.

Avoid spending a whole lot of the night sleeping. Wake up early to plan for the day. You don't hear of successful men who sleep a lot, if they did sleep so much, they won't be successful.

2. Set goals

As you have short-term goals you want to achieve in a short time, make sure you also set long-term goals for yourself. Setting goals gives you a target you want to meet and it also keeps you focused.

3. Read

Many successful men are readers. Instead of buying things that don't have value, buy at least a motivational book or a book on finance and money every month. Sharpen your mental skills. It helps in personal development.

4. Spend within your income

If you can't afford some things, make do with what you have, you won't die if you don't have them. So try to spend within your means.

5. Save to invest

Learn how to save out of your income. No matter how small your income is, you should try to save a part of it. Don't spend and then save what is left. Save and spend what is left. As you save, invest wisely. Don't save to save. Save to invest.

6. Avoid debts

Make sure you avoid debts. If you are not taking a loan for a business or a reasonable project, don't take a loan. The thing about debt is that when you clear your debt, you still end up needing more money because you don't have enough anymore, then you need to borrow again. Which means you still end up being in debt. So avoid it like a plague.

7. Spend less time in front of a screen

Stop wasting a lot of precious time you can invest in front of a screen. If you are not on television to look for vital information, online surfing to get useful information or your work entails you to do so and you are only in front of a television screen, computer or phone screen whiling away time, doing nothing but feeding your eyes with useless information, you need to quit.

8. Have at least two major sources of income

Keep investing until you have at least two major sources of income, with, perhaps, two other minor sources. Don't rely on income from your salary. Tell me of any wealthy man, and I will show you at least his two major sources of income.
