Presidential candidate of the ruling Peoples Democratic Party, President, PDP, Goodluck Jonathan has closed the race for the Aso rock villa in Abuja with a comfortable win in not less than 25 states to defeat his closest rival, Muhammadu Buhari of the Congress for Progressive Change, CPC.

iReports-ng also gathered that Jonathan has already secured more than the required 25% of the total votes cast in about 28 states based on results that have been declared across the states of the federation.

A beakdown of Jonathan’s wins reveals that the president has won the poll in 16 states in Southern Nigeria and nine others in the North. The states where he has already recorded overwhelming victory include Abia, Imo, Oyo, Delta, Enugu , Ekiti, Ebonyi, Lagos , Anambra, Cross River , Edo, Ogun, Rivers, Akwa Ibom, Bayelsa, Gombe, Benue , Adamawa, Kogi, Kwara, Taraba, Plateau, FCT, and Ondo.

Other states in Northern Nigeria where Jonathan has secured the required minimum of 25 per cent of the total votes cast are Kaduna , Kebbi, Zamfara, Sokoto, Katsina, and Borno among others.
