PoliticsRe: Jonathan Should Stop Naming Ethnic Groups In The North And Sw by gernded(m): 8:44pm On Mar 24, 2011
To me i don't think GEJ is an ethnic politician more than ATIKU/BUHARI ,IBB in fact the whole northern politician ,

GEJ is overwhelmed by the inducement of the Igbos to his candidature without looking back or whatsoever.

The Igbos and their Sister's state have not been in good terms since after the War so Gej got a gift he never expected from their Elder Brother State.

Which if he is not over taking by the influence of power after April election which is already in his favor i am sure he will do what an igbo presidency can not even do for Indigbo.

And i still cannot understand why the so called opposition sidelined the Old Eastern region and focus only on north and west dough maybe they are afraid because of the pronouncement of GEJ, but they folk up big time.

I still find out also that some good political calculators in this forum are carried away by sentiment and biased mind.

The North want power by all means why let me tell you.

HOW COME SCARCITY OF PMS DISAPPEARED   FROM THE FILLING STATION?

HOW COME THE PRICE OF THE FUEL HAS REMAIN STABLE?

THEY WANT TO RECOVER THIS OIL BACK WHICH THEY HAVE SAVED OVER THE YEARS.

SOUTH BE WISE.

PoliticsAnambra Polls: Police Arrest Acn Agent With Inec Result Sheets by gernded(op): 12:24am On Mar 24, 2011
Men of the Anambra State Police Command yesterday, arrested a suspected senior aide to Dr. Chris Ngige, a former governor of Anambra State, over illegal possession of election materials, belonging to the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC).

The suspect, Kingsley Ezenwenyi, was arrested when he came to the headquarters of the commission in Awka yesterday morning and proceeded to copy from INEC’s notice board, which was strictly meant for staff, the list of postings of electoral officers released by the commission’s state office last Monday.
This drew the attention of men of the State Security Services (SSS) attached to the commission, who asked him to leave.

He was then trailed to his hotel, on the outskirts of Awka, where he was discovered to be in possession of illegal election materials.
Daily Sun gathered that the recovered materials included: Form EC8 A, with serial number 01008997 (original and duplicate copies), 60 copies of original Form EC8(R), which are for publication of results of polls, 56 copies of Form EC8(B), which are for summaries of results from polling stations.
When Ezenwenyi was asked to explain how he came to possess the election materials, he claimed he was working for INEC as a consultant, hired to train members of the Action Congress of Nigeria (ACN) for the election.

But in a swift reaction, the Resident Electoral Commissioner for Anambra State, Professor Chukwuemeka Onukogu, who spoke through Mr. Frank Egbo, stated that Ezenwenyi could not be working for the commission, noting that by printing ballot papers, Ezenwenyi clearly had other motives.

“He already had result sheets for pasting results and it means his own results would have been ready for publication before the conclusion of voting on election day and if he does that you know the kind of confusion that would cause,” stressed Egbo. When contacted, the Police Public Relations Officer, Emeka Chukwuemeka, confirmed the arrest of Ezenwenyi, stating that investigations had started.

Reacting to the development, the ACN Publicity Secretary for Anambra State, Mr. Okeluo Madukife, claimed ignorance of the development and said he would investigate the matter before responding.

In keeping with promising less and delivering more, I promised revival of our railways. If you live near tracks, you may have noticed that promise is now a reality. Trains are now gradually getting back on tracks. We met a rail service requesting attention and gave it support. It is the same way that we will bring life to every sector in Nigeria with your help.

PoliticsLawless Buhari Defies Police Order, Holds Rally In Jos by gernded(op): 11:17pm On Mar 22, 2011
THE presidential candidate of the Congress for Progressive Change (CPC), General Mohammadu Buhari (retd), on Monday, defies police order to shift his rally in Jos, Plateau State, till another date on security ground, while his supporters harassed and molested innocent people and paralysed commercial activities in the town.

The state police command had, on Sunday, advised the party and its presidential candidate to put off its campaign slated for Monday in Jos, on the premise that the campaign of the state PDP gubernatorial candidate, Governor Jonah Jang, was scheduled for the same day, while the latter had sought permission before the former.

As early as 9:30 a.m on Monday, supporters of the presidential candidate, majority of who were on motorcycles, had filed out in their large number to the venue of the rally at Polo Ground, brandishing weapons such as cutlasses, iron bar, among others to scare people off the road.

This act of the supporters caused pandemonium within the state capital, especially around terminus, polo round about, Masalasi Jumat area and Goodluck Jonathan Way, forcing people living in the areas and shop owners, including banks, to hurriedly close for the day.

It was learnt that combined team of the police and the military Special Task Force had a hectic time controlling the supporters, while some group of youths within the city mobilised and confronted them, leading to fracas.

The presidential candidate stormed the state capital at about 1:30 p.m and proceeded to the Government House on a visit to Governor Jang, where he told the governor the purpose of his visit.

In his response, Governor Jang, who said the former head of state and himself were former coup plotters, said both of them had embraced democracy and were doing everything possible to champion the cause of democracy in the country.

The governor said for democracy to succeed in Nigeria, the political elite must play the game according to its rules, while he charged political leaders in the country to educate their supporters on the need to play the game in a decent way.

At the end of the visit, the governor, Buhari and his running mate, the state director of the State Security Service (SSS), the police and the commander of the Military Special Task Force held a meeting behind closed door at the Government House.
