Forbes never still explain how Alex Karp is a Black man o. |
I cannot doubt her, but I really want to know how certain houses make the occupants to become wretched. The tales I've read especially from tenants in Port-harcourt are something else. Landlords rent out their properties where they bury their dead relatives to unsuspecting tenants |
A senior official in the LASG ministry of drainage affairs stated clearly that those who drill boreholes in the Lekki axis are drinking sheet water. Why would you rent let alone drink water in an area a senior official has clearly stated the problem? ![]() |
GloriousGbola:It is disheartening that the situation in Kwara has deteriorated, especially since slightly over a decade ago; it, along with Osun, Imo, Ebonyi, Cross River, and a few states in the north, was mentioned as one of the safest nationwide. The Kaiama area sef is well-suited for soybean planting. It is just so unfortunate how the country's condition has worsened over the past decade. |
GloriousGbola:The diasporan elite should pressure the politicians to do something. After all, the same diasporan elite backed "Otoge" during the elections. |
imam07:But Enoch Adeboye and Wole Soyinka led protests during Jonathan's tenure. Why haven't they replicated the same today? Abi has the security situation changed significantly for the better? Pointing out their hypocrisy and dishonesty isn't hatred. Please, stop misusing certain words. |
E get one Igbo medical doctor wey dey do reels for IG inside the same hospital. I wonder what he has to say now. I hope he's safe though. |
The elites of Kwara state have failed their own people, and it's so unfortunate. |
In no part of the tweets did I see the claim of "stealing his star". Where did it come from? |
franchasng:Everything you outlined here is true and it reflects in the fertility rates in ALL developed countries aside from Israel. When women earn as equal as men, they don't see the need for marriage or having children. Married families spend more money in the economy than single people. An economy needs more married homes for consistent growth. I won't blame them, I blame nature....its not their fault.....and this is why I get angry when I see any woman talk about male cheating with seriousness because cheating is a natural fault in majority of men just as being stingy is a natural fault in majority of women! It was before I took the cheating of married men very seriously, but not anymore considering most married women deliberately don't like sex and deny their HUSBANDS sex with their favourite arrogant question: "Is sex food"? In my books, it's not "cheating", but exploration. ExxonMobil drills crude in Guyana and Namibia. ExxonMobil isn't cheating both countries, but just fulfilling its duties, aka ejaculation where acceptable. Shikina! It is how women are wired....most times you wonder where their income and massive earnings/salaries go to.......they will never build house for their parents (only very few do), they will never build house for their husband or boyfriend or lover or siblings (only very insignificant few do).....they will never embark on community development projects to help the community.....they will never do CSR.....they will never contribute to the development of their birth community even when they become successful and neither will they do it in their husband's community.....everything about them is hidden and a mirage. Their wealth never circulates like wealth in the hand of a man.Men do these things way more than women even with almost gender parity in most industries. Women just save, save and save. So, what do you use the money for? You cannot just accumulating so much money and refuse to spend it. I see it with my mom. Spend this money, you have so much of it. You have money, more than I do, why ask me for money? Why not spend your money? I came across TwitterNG a young lady's PiggyVest account balance - 12m naira. The Fintech company released a survey which showed that women are its biggest users than men. Many young men don't have 12m sitting pretty - no intended use - in PiggyVest. PiggyVest o, not a standard bank account. If you ask the same woman for money, she will tell you she doesn't have money. So, what's the 12m naira for? Explain like I am five. My advice to the op and other young guys reading is to focus on becoming a quality man in life and you won't be bothered about women's stinginess but will only be wondering why it is so just for fun lolExactly! Make your money and spend it FIRST on yourself satisfactorily, before anyone else. There are so many economic opportunities today for women than in the '70s,' 80s or even '90s. So, no excuse for a woman not to make her own money and spend it on herself without waiting for a man. Most importantly, any woman who says she likes you must be willing to spend it on you as her man. Failure to do so WILLINGLY shows she doesn't like you. |
RollinTNDA:Una get mouth o ![]() Regarding the 2m by a yahoo boy given to a girl, I try not to dictate how much a man spends on a woman, but focus more on how that man makes his money. In this case, illegal funds and this has distorted the nature of our female folks. So, the blame is largely on our men. The focus as a young man should be on his finances, nothing else, because in the near future, he would be measured by his finances not whether he believes spending more or less on a random woman is wrong. The good thing is: with your finances, you can get women elsewhere, especially from places where illegal money isn't well established or praised. Just know that women are largely the same everywhere, ditto men. |
SixSeven:This is largely true, and it's important to state that salaries aren't high in academia. The avenues to "earn well" exist in - writing and publishing books that SELL - speaking engagements - consultancy services, especially for business schools professors, accounting and say agricultural lecturers - discovering a drug or coming up with an innovative solution that has market needs Anyone who goes into academia because he or she wants to earn a lot of money is way too naive. Business school grads in their first year of graduation out-earn their professors. Academia offers job security, not high salaries. |
Centrix:Okay. Thank you for the explanation. I guess we have to agree to disagree. I am genuinely curious and interested: Please, what are the salaries like for entry level teachers at Loyola Jesuit? Where does the school typically recruit from? What certifications does a prospective applicant need to possess to stand a chance? How and where are recruitment ads placed? Or is it just within the Catholic Church? I am especially interested in the salary or ranges, if you don't want to reveal exact figures. For popular subjects such as mathematics, English, physics, chemistry, economics, biology, government, etc. Thank you. |
QuinQ:The dude has a lot of legal and financial battles. His business history is chequered. |
Edojoma:The marriage rate in the Western world has collapsed! Oyibo no dey marry again. Oyibos in London, New York and elsewhere are roommates into their 30s. Salaries have stagnanted and as a result, many have shelved off marriage. So a young man from Edo state who got a hustling job in Lagos shouldn't start from anywhere, because his father doesn't have a hux in Lagos... So if everyone stays where dia parents have a hux, he thinks d world will b wat it is todayThat's a different case. He has to rent in Lagos, but if his father has a comfortable place in Lagos, as a bachelor, it makes economic sense to live there for a while so his finances are better off and he rents comfortably within two years. I already listed examples of people who have done the same. Living rent free helps one's financial stability. Lastly, East Asians - who live with their parents until marriage - are richer than this new generation of Nigerians who want to live independently even when they cannot comfortably afford it. |
Esthered:Lagos' rents look logical to me based on its demographics and geography. But Abuja's own get as e be. Too much corrupt money chasing few assets without being backed by a solid middle class and good jobs' salaried market. |
QuinQ:That's exactly what I am stating - he doesn't have money to dole out anyhow when he's in debt. Every billionaire is a debtor. Even Dangote was categorised as stingy by escorts. Who is Keji Giwa? |
LordBillionz:Someone up there narrated an incident at Ogbidi station in Anambra. It's a southern Nigerian issue. |
donleo92:Port-harcourt has always been like that. The same thing along the way to Owerri. Also, this happened in the Igbo-Etche area of the state, I have never read any good news about that area. It has happened to another lad within the same area - Igbo-Etche. His own was even worse as they went away with the car. From observations so far, being stopped by the police arbitrarily is widespread across southern Nigeria, but a rarity in the north. This means any successful or seemingly looking successful young man in southern Nigeria should be very cautious when outside. |
It looks like a skit. Tinubu should do something about the unemployment rate, abeg. |
QuinQ:He might be cash poor, but asset rich. Still, he can be categorised to be a billionaire, in naira of course. I believe he's a billionaire, but the loans bros dey owe no go part 2. |
MadHeadLeft2:Oh! Interesting then. Why wasn't this aspect mentioned? It makes sense for him to be single going forward. Apparently, he's not just a "50 year old bachelor", but a "50 year old divorcee". A significant difference. |
Our problem has never been to build, but to MAINTAIN and to do so consistently over the years. That's where we've a problem - MAINTENANCE CULTURE. |
Anyway, as On.egai stated, these problems are ubiquitous because private schools - profit oriented - are now the biggest providers of secondary school education for the middle class (lower to upper) population. In countries where the public school system is dominant for middle class families, there's a bit of discipline as the schools do not exist for profit purposes. Alternatively, target mission-based schools. This is where the Catholic Church wins, yet again. |
Onegai:But there exists a group of Nigerians who believe in raising their children in the country because of "morals". 🤣🤣 |
PHIPEX:Globally, East Asians are the richest set of people after Westerners, and they live with their parents until they get married. From Hong Kong to Tokyo to Taipei to Singapore. |
Solseal007:It is one of the greatest advantages Lagosians have over those who have newly moved to the city for work. And it is actually a global phenomenon - new grads whose parents live in economic hubs have a financial advantage over those who rent. |
simple250:If the house is large enough to accommodate your housing needs, esp in the first two years, then live there. Yes, you contribute to the rent and other living expenses, but it would be way cheaper than moving out instantly. After those years, you can rent comfortably elsewhere. This is crucial if the family house is in a good location within a bustling area. You save and invest more while spending less. I understand that there are cultural nuances to living with one's parents as a married man, but for bachelors who are starting out their careers and nascent businesses, living with one's parents is a sure hack to properly managing one's finances. |
ZombieTERROR:But fellow Nigerians campaigned vigorously and voted for the same in 2015. If Buhari were alive and contesting today, there is a large proportion of Nigerians who would vote for him regardless of his antecedents. After all, PhD and MBA-credentialed Nigerians did the same in 2015, even with Buhari's antecedents, dating back to 1984. So, should we curse those Nigerians as well? |
Esthered:From what I have been told, Abuja's rents are diabolical. Mind you, this rent is separate from fueling one's car, generator and other necessities of life. How much is one's salary or profits per annum? |
Before nko? Living rent-free is one of the fastest ways to own your home or rent comfortably or build your investment portfolio as a young person who has just started working. I would reel out real life examples: - One of my female acquaintances who graduated from UNILAG was living with her parents when she started working and only had to leave there to share a room with her friend because of the distance between the family house and VI. I am cock-sure that if her parent's house were to be in Ikeja or Yaba, she would not have shared a room as she was the first child out of two children. - My classmate lived with his uncle for five years in a part of Lagos mainland before he moved out to rent his apartment in an area closer to his uncle's. The dude saved and invested his would-be rent into his skills and new apartment. He is now able to afford an MBA because of those savings. - My senior colleague in school kept his clothes and properties in the rent free house I lived in Lagos. This classmate moved to Lagos to commence his MSc and as a result of the distance, he stayed in the school and visited where I lived on weekends. It was rent free for me because of old family connections. When I left Lagos, my classmate continued living there until he completed his MSc program, started working and is now married. Where him for get the money to rent in Lagos and run MSc concurrently immediately after NYSC? - My brother lives in the family house and drives to work. He saves all his salary instead of paying rent. If not for clinical posting, my sister planned to do the same. - I have work colleagues who live with their parents even at far distances. When I ask them: How much is your rent? I am told, "I live with my parents". In fact, it is we immigrants who pay rent, but the Japanese don't. One even lives at a station after mine. They begin paying rent when they get married. Their parents even contribute to their mortgages when they plan to buy a property. Since your transport fare is paid by the company, it technically means you could save at least 75% of your net salary. Do you know what it means to save and invest 75% of your net salary for at least five years? me sef, when I move back, I am taking over one of the houses. No be me and these una rents wey I dey see upandown ![]() |
LeeSmart:Only to embrace them as presidents afterwards. One man's terrorist is another man's freedom fighter. |
