emmaodet: I Believe Nigerian Men that are Poor "BEGGED" their Wives before they Agree to MARRY Them. If you are rich or wealthy and have to beg a woman to marry you, then the issue is not about financial situation rather esteem issues. If you are financially stable and averagely social, you will always have atleast 2 ladies in your hand at every point in time. Ladies are not hard to get nor scarce, main issue for men are financial and long time of scarcity. When a man has been exposed for too long to scarcity - inability to date for a very long time or no girlfriend for a very long time, it makes him appreciate little or no gifts or efforts from ladies and he is scared of losing a lady even if she is bad mannered. He is ready to manage or endure her. He will be ready to take her bullshits. Just a little kiss, he will always remember it or a little gift of singlet. He will remember the gesture for years. Something no one has ever given him. I saw a like in my earlier reply to this post. Another reason for this behaviour is religion. Our people have demonised relationships between the opposite sex for too long. So the moment, for a man, small money enter hand, he's compelled to marry. The lady who shines the most teeth gets worshipped as the best thing since sliced bread. |

GboyegaD: The responses I am reading are scary. Does this mean there can't be platonic friendship between a male and a female? We're in a capitalist world where women have equal opportunities as men. Nigeria is too poor as a country for ladies to expect certain benevolent offers without offering something in return. The economy doesn't support such agape gifts. |

franchasng: Dubai is too far. Before you allow a guy sponsor your trip from Lagos Mainland to Lagos Island, be prepared to also offer him something in return, talk more of Nigeria to Dubai. I don't know who told our young ladies that you can get things for free from guys just because you are a lady, such reasoning is absurd . The only people you should expect favors from for free are your blood relatives like your siblings, cousin, nieces, nephews, Aunts and Uncles. Outside your blood relatives, always have it at the back of your mind that there is no free thing in Freetown It's an arrogant self entitlement. The belief that just because they're women, everything should be free. What stops her from sponsoring herself to Dubai? Her working class mates in Nigeria and other countries do the same - they spoil themselves to girls trips. Even the recent migrants in the UK are doing the same. |

Can she make it to the UK or Canada? If no, which other country can fall within her budget? Honestly, with that experience, why has she not thought of playing in the sector? That's one hot and largely unregulated industry with minimal government's nose-poking. Except she has been directly affected by the worsening insecurity. |

emmaodet: While i agree with some of your points bro, we need to also agree that most people can't/won't be able to do business because it requires - 1. Skills which many don't have 2. In some cases natural business talent which most don't have too. Under normal condition and a good environment, people are meant to excel with their natural talent and skills like football, swimming, wrestling e.t.c if the environment is rich enough and ready enough. Even knowing how to play football is not enough to guarantee you to survive and earn a career with it. There are so many footballers who never made it to the professional level. Under normal condition, so many people in nigeria have no business trading or running a biz nor should we have a high number of pastors etc. The business terrain in africa is another story entirely. Only a fraction of people will excel in business under a favorable condition. Some will excel more as doctors, nurses, wrestlers, musicians, footballers etc Fair analysis. Everyone cannot be an entrepreneur. Even if one has the idea and commences it, e get where e go reach, the person cannot run it effectively anymore. At that point, a seasoned manager should be employed to run the business. The solution for those who can't run businesses but have the finances is to collaborate with like minds who have the business acumen and managerial skills. But would Nigerians be honest enough to collaborate amongst themselves? |

Teymanhenry: That’s how our parents and wives try to play us — “Please just have kids quickly and rest. We need plenty of grandchildren.”
Next thing you know, they’re bringing out the Bible like, “God said you should fill the earth and multiply.”
Look, yes — God gives children. But let’s be real: God has also given us the ability to make them. If you decide to have kids, most times, it’ll happen.
But the real question is — do you have the money to take care of them?
Sometimes, timing is everything. Kids can wait. Build your career, invest, secure the bag — then have kids when you’re ready, and everyone can actually enjoy life.
As for me, one daughter is enough for now — at least until I start making ₦600k to ₦700k a month. Then we can talk! And na Lafia I dey stay on. House no even cost for here It goes beyond location. You too as the parent needs to enjoy yourself with the money you earn. Life isn't just about having too many children. You need to enjoy life as an adult even before being a parent. |

Dirkcoyt: We are too emotional in this part of the world ! This man told the honest harsh truth . Many of the problems we have today is due to poor decision making skills . Many of our parents in the past made a lot of error due to emotional decisions taken and reality set in and they keep on hoping on some miracle . They gave birth to lot of children they didn’t need .
But look at today ?! People are now making more smart choices when it comes to raising a family , no one wants to keep encircling poverty . There needs a change of approach to the way we do things if we need to move away from poverty as families . We need to make smart choices , hold ourselves accountable and question every choices we are about to make and know the impact it will make in future .
People now have less kids like 2 in this time cause they realize to make them live a quality life and for they also to enjoy themselves they need to have less .
This young man has questioned the past so we don’t all get drenched in same circle of poverty .
I will only excuse a bit them then due to lack of access to information compared to now . But they didn’t do enough . And don’t even talk about me cause I’ve already done enough before kids started showing up . Well done! I've been preaching this for almost a decade, dem no gree listen. Just dey born born upandown! |

That's why I stopped engaging them on social media. They can defend, argue and talk nonsense. They are so stupid that they don't realize that the elites have purposely destroyed the education, health and infrastructure of the country so that only they (the elite) can have access to such services via overseas trips. The middle-class is an endangered species due to Government policies of the last ten years but many are still praising this government. Two important aspects to emphasise. It beats me sometimes; there will be more to steal if the cake is bigger. So, why not make the cake bigger so that the average person can get some and live a decent life? Eriokanmi: That emergencies aren't taken seriously here shouldn't be a reason people don't research on, and go for such a lucrative career, that's capable of writing off poverty in their lineage. On the contrary, ordinary LASU runs Aeronautical and Astronautical Engineering and their fees are cheap, you see? Likewise OAU. My Biomedical Engineer travels the world, for trainings. His colleague works for a top hospital in the UK as I speak. Every hospital needs a Biomedical Engineer as well, home and abroad. Information is very key. If you're well informed, you'd definitely get whatever you want. Even if you studied the best course and you're not informed, it's useless.
I remember a guy who studied in FG's Kaduna college of aviation and complaining of joblessness. I introduced Archer aviation to him and he applied, today he's in the US, doing great. That's the power of Information. Once you had that right degree and you're well informed, the sky is your starting point . Those professions may not be appreciated locally but out there, theyre never enough.
When I graduated, I didn't know anyone who could help me. It's been stories upon stories. I got all the jobs I had through the then guardian newspapers of Tuesdays' and Thursdays' editions, without knowing anyone whereas, my colleagues were busy counting on people who later disappointed them. Till this morning as i speak to you, none of them could near.me in achievement. All glory to God. I've researched before posting those professions and based in my personal experience. Air ambulance exists but how many are qualified as nurses to work in this very lucrative sector? You are right that information is powerful. I find it interesting that LASU offers Aeronautical Engineering. |

Eriokanmi: You made sense. Chevron had one air ambulance. I once announced the opportunity here when they needed a certified air ambulance nurse. I shared same vacancy on major social media platform but I was unable to get one for chevron, for months. In a country of over 200m population(official) fa, no single air ambulance nurse could be found. I wonder which kain course our people dey study sef.
Air ambulance nurses, Emergency Response Personnel, Aeronautical and Astronautical Engineers, Biomedical Engineers, etc are hot cakes.
Sadly, people are too blind to see them. Instead, they'd be going for anyhow courses just because they want to enter a university. Time is invaluable fa The bold is the only viable course there, but it is very expensive and not administered by many universities. Biomedical engineering exists, but the jobs are fewer, so many don't opt for it, and even if they do, it is "JAMB that gave them", not out of passion. Emergencies are not taken seriously across the country aside from a few MNCs, so the demand cannot entice a supply. |

AreaFada2: Thank you my brother. The thing is, we don't know how much blood she lost internally. She could have have had a pelvic bone fracture, and it appears at least a long bone was fractured, to loose that limb. These can cause massive blood loss and affect organs. How good and soon was the initial trauma care?
It's a miracle she didn't die of shock soon after. Perhaps because she was young, fit and vital organs were in top shape.
As for infection risk, antibiotics available to use might even be fake. And you think doctors' exodus has no serious impact on the quality of trauma management and surgical hands available?
The average 9ja has no idea just how deep the mess in all sectors is.

Men are hypergamous, otherwise we wouldn't have this thread. In most liberal parts of the world, women have equalled the employment rate. For instance, in Nigeria, Zenith Bank employs more women than men. Today's women have more opportunities than their forebearers. In some industries, women constitute over 70% of the employees. Women have so much freedom, money and opportunities today than ever before. The bold is untrue, and you know it. Women are hypergamous. It's innate and this applies across all cultures, racial groups, religions and counties. If men are hypergamous, it's because men are now playing in women's fields. Two can play the game. |

babakb: Yeah it's a new law, I have searched a couple of Language schools in Japan and it's stated on their sites that you must present a minimum of JPLT N5 or show evidence of at least 150 hours of Japanese Language studies before you obtain their COE 🤨🤨 New policy then. Just as the new changes in funding doctoral and postdoctoral students. Before the changes, both foreign and Japanese academic scholars enjoyed the same benefits. But a lawmaker complained that more foreigners obtained the scholarship than Japanese students. Japanese aren't fond of a PhD or a postdoc, as most opt to end at an MSc and get into paid employment. Expectedly, Chinese students garnered more scholarships than other foreigners or Japanese themselves. Chinese students made up a third of the awardees. So, the changes have it that Japanese students get tuition waivers and monthly living stipend. However, unlike before, foreign students would only get their tuition waived. Foreign students should fund their living costs. And this category of scholarship was extremely generous. There are so many of such scholarships as a graduate student here. Extremely munificent. Your own na just to study and perform research. Another change is the business visa. By October, applicants would be required to present ¥30m to obtain the visa. As of last month, it was 5m. The argument is that the previous fee was way too low compared to peer nations. As usual, Chinese citizens obtained the highest, but Indians, Pakistanis, Sri Lankans, and other Southeast Asians found it as an easy and affordable route to get into Japan, and in the long run, obtain permanent resident status. In summary, in anything one wants to do, do it on time. Time waits for no one and change is constant. |

Billing here means a woman desires her man or a man spends on her in one way or the other. Do women earn their money? Yes. Do they spend this money on themselves? Yes.
