To my senior colleagues in the house, please identify with us and enlighten us on some issue in the proffession. I am willing to learn from my seniors especially those with awesome experience on the job both in audit and accounting.
Some of us are working under bosses that are not charttered and sometimes would disagree with their position on how to treat some transactions or classification of an item in the financial statements.


Take for instance;

There was this issue in my office on a loan given by my company to our subsidiary, as at the end of last year the loan in the balance sheet of our subsidiary showed negative under 'LONG TERM LIABILITY'

I quickly asked why but i am still not satisfied with the explanation. I want the house to please give me reasons for the possibility of the negative and ACCOUNTING STANDARD that treats such

i am happy to join you guys in thanking God for rewarding my effort in the last diet. I took the final stage but had a ref in mdcs. Although a bit painful but what can i do when some of my friends that had all the time in the world to read passed only 1 paper and will now have to write all papers again.

Go and read good text books to learn more about fundamentals and also speak the language regularly with your immediate family.

You will appreciate the language only when you understand how to use it correctly

I believe in dreams and not opportunities/luck. There is no doubt that 1 out of every 500 applicants would secure a job in the big 4 (Audit firms) at the end of the recruitment exercise.

My advise is that you plan and work towards it.

Guys what do you think about this plan by the federal government to merge the EFCC, ICPC and other agencies.
I think the government is still trying to do every thing possible to cripple these agencies for their own selfish interest, I am sure the target of the plan is EFCC.

Marriage is a problem, what the man needs to do is to try and manage it. I do not think the digit behind your salary is the solution to the problem because the size of your head will determine how may yards of clothe you will need to make a cap.

Instabilty in oil producing countries, have goone a long way in jerking up the prices lately.
These include war in Iran, The intrangescence in Iraq, The unrest in Nigeria.
These trouble spots, create an artificial shortage in production and therefore speculation in future productivity and price hike.

before those things started happening,what in the world determines the prices?

I would like to know if the prices are determined as being shown on T.V. at london brent and us Light's prices or there are other factors that determine how much to sell a barel of oiel.

It is just unfortunate that we are in a country where over 60% of the population does not understand the essence of keeping such money outside our country.I think we need to gauge our foreign reseves to commensurate with what is obtainable in our economy.

The reserve portray us as a rich nation but in the real world we(the people) are not as rich as the image our reserver is given us. There is therefore an imbalance somewhere, It is illogical for a rich man to have reserves while his children can not afford to basic things of life(especially 3 square mill). All our public schools are like poultries and the country's budget keeps increasing year in year out.

Opinion:
In view of what i have now realised about reserves, i think it should be reduced and discontinued immediately because a babangida can just come tommorow and loot the entire savings which Nigerians are starved to acheive.

This is about $50b and i think i need an explanation on how such a huge amount of money outside our continent has been contributing to the needs of poor Nigerians.
