hi all I believe we can all see the stability returning back to the market. The neccessary corrections have been done on overvalued stocks and now what we have is know as the real worth of shares prices. The suspension of recapitalisation of the stock broking firms has also helped the return of the bulls we are currently seeing in the last five days. some FUNDAMENTALS First bank is likely to hit N55 in the next few weeks deu to its intension to pay a dividend of over N1 and a bonus. GTB is likely to also hit above N35 in the next few weeks, its first quarter result is not looking bad at all. Dangote sugar and flour are very good anytime anyday because of the market share they enjoy and the possible expansion in the future. The following are also good for both long and short term If you read my previous posts, i have told people to keep buying because the market will surely bounce back and that is currently happening. www.cscsnigerialtd.com www.investordelight.com |
you guys should be carefull about your phone numbers you post to this site, you can be bugged by criminals |
Recently the apex bank announced the adoption of 31st december as the reporting date for our banks. There are a lots of concerns in different quarters following the new policy. If the rules still remain what it is, it therefore means that all banks would have to report before the end of April, thereby taking its tolls on the capital market because all other companies listed on the exchange transact business with one bank or the other. This will also have a grave impact on the capital market because banks will definately want to make the faces of their financials look robust in anticipation of their A.G.Ms. A good example is the unofficial suspension of margin trading by the CBN which is one of the factors responsible for the current downturn in the capital market. I want us to look at the possible effects of this new year end on the entire stocks listed on the NSE |
Some of us do not really understand how strong the Nigerian capital market is.The issue of crash is unthinkable in this issue.I am not a stock broker but i have been around for a while and i beleive strongly in experts opinions before taking decisions because no matter how smart you are some people have seen it all. The continious fall in the price of shares can be likened to the consistent increase in the price of crude oil. who on earth believed the price of crude oil would ever get to $130 per barrel from the $32 in the Nigerian budget about a year ago. If you agree with the above assertion, then i can posit that when the prices of goods are solely determined by the forces of DD & SS, such prices will not remain either HIGH OR LOW forever as it will be up and down becasue of sentiments of the market ( i.e. the combination of investors attitude and regulator's decisions). still writing |
what else will the market experience more than the downturn going on, well if you ask me, what is happening is not strange to a market that is determined by the forces of DD and SS. I strongly beleive the market will soon bounce back and stabilise, what is currently happening was predicted by experts in the industry. The same recess is also affecting the asian market while the American market saw its own recently when the dollar was loosing strenght compared to other currencies and now the dollars has recovered. If you are buying for long term you can buy now and keep but you can watch the market closely before buying if for short term.Even at that, i recommend the following stocks as a good buy anytime anyday: Dangote sugar gtb costain west africa nahco platinum dangote flour Access |
There are a number of ways in which a company can return wealth to its shareholders. Although stock price appreciation and dividends are the two most common ways of doing this, stock buy back is another way of rewarding investors and on the other hand, companies also seize the opportunity to reduce their share outstanding in other to reduce pressure on the company in respect of future payments of dividend. Let me shed!!!!!!!!!!!!!!1 Share buy back is a company buying back its shares from the market place at premium in most cases, repurchased shares are absorbed by the company, this will lead to a reduction in the number of outstanding shares of the company and this will indirectly increase the stake of every sahreholder. still writing |
that is right guy but na naija we dey |
It is important to add that if anyone has subscribed to a P.P. and you are sceptical about their prospect or you feel it has taken too long a time for them to be listed, I think you can approach such a company to sign a Memorandum of understanding which will temporarily ensure your stake in the company. This may be neccessary given the fact that the regulatory authorities may not be convinced that all requirements have been met by the prospecting company. The Memorandum of understanding i am not sure, would state the mechanism via which you would pre-emptively be entitled to any benefits due to other owners of the business. moRE inFO if You haVE thEM |
you fit put money in one or two of the following: 1. Dangote sugar 2. Costain west africa 3. Access bank 4. PHB 5. Nahco |
You must have been approached by some marketers persuading you to buy one private placement or the other. Ideally, private placement is an arrangement where by a privately or publicly owned but not listed company sells parts of it shares to a few members of the public in its bid to increase its capital base and may or may not eventually be listed ( e.g. MTN nigeria) on the stock exchange. Although the arrangement is a good one but we all need to be wary of some of them because of absence of regulations for private placemnts in the country. A lot of Nigerians have their monies tied in the hands of such companies. Apart from tying down your money, not all them will meet the listing requiremnts of the Nigerian Stock Exchange. Some of these companies can't even show you their trading results which is key for listing on the floor.( NOTE: A company must have traded for at least 5 years before it can be listed on the 1st tier and for 3 years on the 2nd tier of the exchange. |
