my friend has about 10,000 units of ibtc, he said he would sell 5k and keep the balance. |
The election was definately marred with irregularities and violence in many parts of the country. The truth of the matter is that THERE IS A FUNDAMENTAL PROBLEM WITH OUR ELECTORAL SYSTEM which is the major reason for irregularities and violence during elections. I think we have to look at our electoral body which most of the time is used by the incumbent presidents to ensure that their own candidates accross the country win at all cost, we need a truely independent electoral body to conduct free and fair elections. I still prefer this guy to either ATIKU or BUHARI |

sorry poster Dust your books and go back to the class, the most important thing is that you QUALIFY. I know how it feels to bang ICAN but you got to keep working hard. YOU WILL GET THERE I just checked my own result too, passed my reference in F.A 2 since 2005 nov., but i must confess to you ,i have forgotten how many times i have written the paper gettolove HND, AC my 'A 'is on the way ![]() |
Honestly i did not beleive in him at all. I will vote for him too |
I would like to seek your opinion on this issue because most of us felt this guy was going to be a puppet to baba in ota. In the last few months, we have experienced a turn around in governance in the country. your opinion counts, pls respond |
@panadol What is 11.74k again, i thought it is 16.00k they are offering those willing to sell, and how long will it take them to pay. I want you to also explain how it will pay the short term investors who want to sell because they will not be paid instantly because of the delay in payment. |
A friend of mine that has some IBTC shares asked me if he should sell @ the premium price offered by stanbic bank or hold on to his shares. I want to hear from the gurus in the house why to or not to sell the shares @ the premium. In case you dont know, IBTC is presently priced @ =N=11 and stanbic is offering =N=16 to any shareholders willing to sell all or part of their shares. @proshare and others respond |
@poster may be going late might help you, if it does not, please go to church only on cristmas day like me ![]() |
@all I also have HND and i do not think we must all work in the bank. If the banks are saying NO to highest natural degree, then look else where becuase opportunities are all over the places. I did first bank test @ UNILAG in 2006 and i was robbed after i had passed both the test and interview ![]() I am presently working in an advertising agency with my HND and i am working towards my ICAN, I don't think i would go back and look for any job in a bank. I am praying to GOD to grant me wisdom to be self employed and do what i have passion for and report to myself instead of all these CAPITALISTS that only pay us pea nuts and we think we earn big salaries. |
I have not gotten mine too but a report in the dailies recently suggested that the company may start posting it from 24th of july. The CBN story may be true after all |
@all This is not new at all to someone like me because i have read and seen a lot about western media trying to paint us bad at all cost. I still dont know why CNN has not come out and apologise to us after it fired its reporter( jeff koinange) in an issue which may be connected to the doc on the niger delta militants where the reporter used its media power to dent the image of our country, our minister defended the country in a telephone conversation with jim clancy on CNN that the story was contrived. Come to think of this scam issue, one may say some of the victims are either stupid or greedy because i have come accross some formats used by yahoo boys and you will laugh and ask yourself if a 10 year old kid will ever think the stories painted are real. A friend in U.K. told me that some companies will delibrately honour payments from a fake credit card because they know insurance will make good any loss suffered eventually. I have once asked myself that if boys that are half educated ( Y.Y. boys) can dupe companies and banks in U.S. and U.K., then where is all thier so called HIGH TECH ![]() I dont think we should loose our heads because westerners are taking the advantage of the bad eggs amongst us to colour the entire country bad, recently in the U.S., a naija native ( MR OLOKO) was appointed into one of the highest judicial position in YANKI despite all the negatives. To all my bros and sis all over the globe, Osama bim ladin is from saudI arabia, yet the UK and US are still giving more visas to dudes from that country than they give to an african. PEACE proudly naija boy |
what do you mean by huge profit?if you are serious about doing a business, you should ask yourself some questions which i beleive will provide solution as to what type of business you can do with 10k. |
@menka I would advise you to split your money into 2, buy some of access and some of cach craft asset mgt. may be 70:30 in favour of access bank. @ POST This is the first time i am reading a thread post by post. It is very interesting and also analytical. I noticed that some people did not understand what it means to either reduce the value of share and increase its units (share consolidation) or reduce the units and increase the value(share split)., A company most time take this step to correct some problems or re position itself. However, if a company splits or consolidates its shares, i do not think shareholders have been ripped because an exra ordinary meeting must have been held to get the approval of shareholders before they take those decisions. The gurus in the house have analysed the ratios and the determinants of buying any shares which i believe is very important for anyone to consider before buying shares, but we must not forget that all these are just expectaions and not facts because no smart analyst forsaw the magnitude of trading which take plce on our floor today. sOluDoloUsVerdict I think buying this shares goes beyond just buying, it depends on my intension or plans. It is a very good buy for long term purpose, not even the discount or whatever because there is less RELATIONSHIP BETWEEN THE CURRENT PRICE OF THE BANK AND ITS PERFORMANCE IN THE LAST ONE YEAR. I bought a large units of INTERCONTINENTAL BANK last year @ 13.5k, although the certificte is yet to be posted, I can decide to keep such shares for the next 10 years even if i wont add more units to it. |
@all I must confess that this forum is blessed with a lot of intelligent users. I think one can still buy GDR and open a dom account later because it is just for the purpose of dividend distributions. |
@easimoni Dont you think the current market of bank PHB has been a result of re branding. |
@all what do you think about wema bank shares, I think the rebranding would help move the market value in the shares. I just bought some units recently. You can also monitor share prices and learn more about all the listed companies @ www.cashcraft.com |
nikinash:I think you have identified my area of dissatisfaction, i want to partially agree with you that those notices are there for customers' good |
choco4life:what if you want to withdraw what the ATM cant give you, or you are given a cheque to go and catch |
@purestboy I think my problem with the thread is now finally raised by you, many people have just been sentimental and one-sided as if all customers that are underpaid are re imbursed by these banks, those notices should be removed by banks if they want customers to be loyal to them. I think it is partial and unfriendly if my bank already says i may not be re imbursed if i am underpaid and expect me to refund overages. |
This issue is embarrasing and unproffessional, when i called the office sometime ago, i was told some people bought outrageous units which are being investigated by both CBN and EFCC. Honestly it is annoying that the certificate can be delayed for unreasonable excuses. |
@sagacious That is very interesting to hear, i hope those cashiers would be like you when the ball is in their court. |
@ post most people seem not to feel my point here, what of the crooks among the cashiers who don't make up for shortages suffered by customers, most of them would argue on the premise that there is a standing notice which tells all customers to confirm their money before leaving the counter. I wish those notices can be rephrased to suit both parties. |
Only if bill's money has been tourching lives of the poor people. I dont think he should stop giving to the poor because it may not still make him be no 1 |
@ aisha 2 are you a teller or once a teller? |
aisha2:My point is when a customer is short changed and there seem to be a compensating error on the same day. A compensating error may occur when the cashier pays MR A 65K instead of 56k and on the same day pays MR B 45k instead of 54k, it is obvious that MR B will quickly rush back to the bank but the other chap may not. The cashier will only hope MR A comes back with the excess. @ TOPIC I do not like anyone to cry while i am smiling, the bank should also remove or rephrase those notices @ paying point because it automatically place them on defence in any of such event. I think a more customer friendly approach should be adopted. |
Those of you that are saying the money should be returned must tell our banks to also remove those notices saying 'PLEASE CONFIRM YOUR MONEY BEFORE LEAVING THE COUNTER AS THE BANK WILL NOT MAKE GOOD ANY SHORTAGE' I beleive the above is only to the advantage of the bank because whatever happens, the bank has protected its own staff from being liable to any claim in respect of the subject matter. In order to balance the inequality, I will suggest that customers too should also carry a tag saying ; PLEASE CONFIRM YOUR MONEY B4 GIVEN IT TO ME AS I WILL NOT RETURN ANY EXCESS ![]() |
The amount involved will be my own determinat, if na big money. bros ![]() |
If You Are Over Paid At The Bank, Would You Return The Excess? There is a notice in almost every banks warning us to always confirm our money before leaving the counter, meanwhile, due to the human nature, some cashiers sometimes over pay customers and the ball is now in the customer's court. I will like to know your own side of this because of the fact that if one is under-paid in the same bank, it is certain that your complain would not be entertained. |
@cute-ass do you know that some girls are given all they want from guys but never keep their asses in their panties |
