Even though I know they loot, that does not mean they don't have a source of income before they became politicians. Some.kf them have viable business generating millions monthly before talking of contesting election

I got a job in another company, which I am currently employed.

My start date for the next job is on 10-10-2022.
I have given my current employer my notice of resignation through the HR on 24-9-2022, stating that my last day of work will be on 4-10-2022.(Two weeks)

My colleague was telling me yesterday that the company will not pay me since they have seen my resignation letter.

I should have collected my salary and leave impromptu.

I have to be cleared from the company,that's why I gave them notice
Even though they treated me bad I want to end everything so we part ways peacefully

I can't wait for my salary because they pay on 15th of next month and I need to relax before taking up another job hence giving them notice for resignation.

NB: 1)I have been coming to work since that 24-10-2022
2) The HR have not approved my resignation
3) I worked from the 1-09-2022 till 4-10-2022

How do I follow this up to know my stand, because if they won't pay me, no need coming to work or even giving them notice

In usa, it is minimum of 2 weeks. In nigeria, it is minimum of 4 weeks. It is unlawful for companies to extend it more than that.
If you fail to give the official duration of notice, you will forfeit salary and maybe other benefits. But in a country like nigeria without law, they can sack you without notice. So resignation without notice is becoming a norm

Come to askirt of Lagos mainland and get yourself a single apartment which can go for 50k yearly and 50k for agent fees.
Get yourself a small shop in a busy location. That can cost you up to 100k yearly and 100k fir agent fees. Start doing business.
use the balance with you (about 200k). You can sell clothes, do pos business together. Or you can choose other business.
But you can only achieve the above if you already have house properties like gas cooker and plate's. If not, the money will only get you accomodation and money to buy basics of house properties and feeding for like two months before you get a decent job

SaharaReporters' review of the Ogun State Open Contracting portal has revealed the purchase of a 32-inch LED Hisense Television contract with an estimated budget of N1,063,000.00.
The contract details uploaded in June 2022 have exposed contract inflation and a lack of regard for open contract procurement guidelines.
It was discovered that the contract, which was awarded by the State Ministry of Works and Infrastructure, was uploaded twice with a different contractual sum but a similar description.
Findings on the portal show that N903,994.35 was put as the estimated budget for the purchase of a 32-inch Hisense LED TV and another N160,000 was budgeted for the item by the same ministry with the 27th of June, 2022 as the proposed award date.
When SaharaReporters contacted Ogun State Government for reaction, the Commissioner for Works and Infrastructure, Engr. Ade Akinsanya, said N903,994.35 was the annual budget for the item.
Later, on Tuesday, he sent another screenshot he claimed to get from the portal, saying only N150,000 was the contract sum for the procurement of the TV and that it was the amount removed from the N903,994.35 to buy
the TV.
"The balance is not only for TV, but balance available for other office needs and supplies," he said.
But when SaharaReporters asked for the specifics of what the balance of about N750,000 was spent on, he said it was meant for other logistics which he failed to highlight.
Meanwhile, a further check on the portal on Thursday morning showed information different from what was supplied two days earlier by Mr Akinsanya.
SaharaReporters observed that N200,000 was now listed on the portal as the actual project estimate for the procurement of the TV.
But when asked why the contract appeared twice on the portal with different contract sums from the same ministry and the reason for the non-specification of other items, he claimed the money was meant for, he referred SaharaReporters to an official of the State Procurement Agency, Adesanya Olanloye.
But when SaharaReporters asked Olanloye to provide answers to the pending queries based on findings, the Procurement Agency official referred our correspondent back to the ministry. He said it is the state ministry of work that can clarify the issue.
Checks by SaharaReporters show that the price for a TV set of similar description is not up to N100,000.00
On Jumia, an online trading platform, a 32-inch HD LED TV + Wall Bracket 2021 Model costs N95,000.00
Also, on Konga, the price of Hisense 32" LED Television was pegged at N96,000.00
The price by the state government appears exaggerated even if the cost of other services like delivery of the TV set to the ministry was factored into the total cost.
Expert Weighs In
An advocate of Public Procurement and a member of UDEME project (a social accountability programme under the Centre for Journalism Innovation and Development), Igwe Uchenna emphasised the need to ensure effective implementation of state laws and regulations as well as opening up the process to allow public participation and scrutiny.
He said it is a breach of public procurement principles to claim the estimated budget is meant for other items not captured in the project description.
He said, "Why did the government fail to include those items the money is meant for in the portal? What are those things? And what is their specification? And what is the reason behind having two separate allocated funds for a similar item by the same ministry at the time? These are big questions the institutions involved should answer.
"But if they could not provide satisfactory answers to these questions, it means something is wrong somewhere concerning the procurement of the TV set."

Simple way of saying we should quit pleasing the dead for they cannot feel or see. They will face their judgement and there is nothing the living can do about it then. We should be more interested in saving humans that are still alive.

I just came back from service. I'm a Catholic, back then in my teen years, I do see alot of turnout of young people BTW 10-20 yrs of age.

Vladimir Putin has signalled Russia will tolerate Finland and Sweden joining Nato, but warned the Kremlin would respond if the alliance installed military bases or equipment in either country.
The Russian president said on Monday the proposed Nato enlargement posed “no direct threat for Russia”, adding he had “no problems” with either Finland or Sweden.
Speaking on a day that Sweden formally announced its membership application while acknowledging it would remain “vulnerable” until it joined, Putin warned that “expanding military infrastructure on to this territory would provoke a response from us [ . . .] based on the threats they create for us”.
His comments appeared to indicate the Kremlin could live with Finnish and Swedish Nato membership provided the military alliance did not dispatch arms or troops to the two countries — as it did in the Baltic states and eastern Europe in the run-up to Russia’s invasion of Ukraine.
Sweden has repeatedly said it does not want Nato military bases on its soil or to host nuclear missiles. Finland is thought to be unlikely to want either but said on Sunday that it would not set conditions before its membership.
But Turkey continued to be a thorn in the side of the Nordic nations’ applications with President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan warning again on Monday night that he would not accept them.
His comments prompted Nato secretary-general, Jens Stoltenberg, to ring Turkey’s foreign minister to tell him “we must stand together at this historic moment”. Finland’s prime minister Sanna Marin said: “Of course, these messages are worrying.”
Putin said Nato expansion in itself was “a completely artificial problem because it’s all done in US interests”.
He added: “The problem has basically come out of nothing, but we’ll react to it appropriately” and also complained that Nato was trying to “control and influence the international security situation in other parts of the world, not for the best”.
The proposed Nato expansion highlights the extent to which Russia’s invasion of Ukraine has transformed the geopolitical map of Europe. It is a significant setback for Putin, who justified the invasion by saying he wanted to prevent the alliance from expanding further east.
Instead, the enlargement will double the alliance’s frontier with Russia and in Sweden’s case break with two centuries of neutrality.
Samuel Charap, a senior political scientist at the Rand Corporation, said Russia was trying to make the best of a situation beyond its control by drawing a line similar to constraints on Norway’s Nato membership during the Cold War.
“They’re not in a position to be fighting a second war,” Charap said. “Occupying and invading Finland is far-fetched. They’re signalling they’re not going to do more than establish conditions.”
Tatiana Stanovaya, the founder of Russian political consultancy R. Politik, said Putin’s comments showed he saw Nato as a threat to Russia’s traditional dominance of its former empire, rather than a strategic military problem.
“So Nato can exist in the west, but not in our backyard. Ukraine, Georgia, and Moldova are historically our backyard,” she wrote on messaging app Telegram.
Swedish prime minister Magdalena Andersson formally announced her country’s membership bid on Monday alongside centre-right opposition leader Ulf Kristersson, which is a sign of unity ahead of parliamentary elections in September.
“Sweden will be in a vulnerable position while our application is being processed,” said Andersson.
For both Finland and Sweden, the period between application and actual membership could last between four and 12 months. But while Finland has said it is calm and prepared for whatever Russia may throw at it, Sweden has said it is worried about potential cyber and hybrid attacks.
Norwegian prime minister Jonas Gahr Støre and Danish premier Mette Frederiksen added that they would come to Finland’s or Sweden’s aid should either be attacked before they were covered by Nato’s Article 5 collective defence pledge.
The UK has also promised to come to Sweden and Finland’s aid, including with military assets if they come under attack and request assistance.
Jacob Wallenberg, Sweden’s leading industrialist, became the country’s most prominent business figure to come out in favour of Nato membership on Monday when he said joining would be “positive” and that doing so together with Finland was important.
