A Nigerian Senator is only greater than a Minister before their confirmation. Economically Ministerial Portofolio is more lucrative than Senate because except the Senate President,his Deputy other Senators don't see mega money outside political hustling which is not limited to Committee level runs and summoning Ministers etc.
Senate only advantage over Minister is security of tenure only.
Compare when Chief Mrs Stella Odua was a Minister and now a Senator ect and understands what am talking about.
For eg, If Mr Labaran Maku,Okonjo Iweala etc and a former or current Senator is contesting for a new political post the Former Minister or current Minister is easily more bankable politically.
So Ministers are more politically exposed than Senators because they're Constituencyless i.e their Constituency is the whole country while Senators represents a portion of their state.
That's why most politicians ''retire'' to the Senate which most State Governors that looted their state dry are ''comfortably'' enjoying.

Go contest for election in Nigeria and see what Nigerian Politicians are passing through. Do you know the amount they spent individually or feet they kissed to get nominated,endorsed and screen by our Senate? Do you know the unrealistic and merchantile expectations of their villagers,friends,family,mistresses and boys etc? Guy it's never easy. We the masses expect alot of selfish gains from our Politicians and that's the bane of politics in Nigeria. For instance,if you're seeking for employment or Contract in Ministry of Works,and you're from Fashola's village,family,LGA etc,you'll selfishly want to be considered first before others using different tactics not restricted to speaking your local dialect to him,reminding him of how you grand father once paid his school fees or how had wanted to date your mother,getting the man whom he respects to call before your arrival ect. And if he's unmoved by this your nepotic and selfish interests,you'll take him to your village shrine or start telling people who cares to listen how he is the most wicked man on earth. It not easy to be Politician in Nigeria.

It's a wrong premise to assert that everybody voted Audu,which by implication you meant noone voted for party,nor for the Running mate. Please know these-most people vote for their choiced party even when they do not like or know the candidate presented by their party,while some voted for the candidate not party this is where even PDP card carrying member will vote for APC candidate vice versa.So the confusion is how do you sieve those who voted for Audu from those who voted for party ,Running mate,Party Leaders and other motives. Hence,have you seen reason(s) why the party's interest supersedes the candidate's which by implication make the party the owner of all vote cast in elections? That's why when Omehia's of Rivers state Guber election was declared invalid in 2007 and Hon Rotimi Chibuike who never participated in the General Election was awarded ''Omehia's'' vote which by implication was party's vote not his personal vote.

If Saraki goes down except he goes to prison,he wouldn't do so without putting up a fight,he'll make sure PDP captures the Senate President if not for anything to still have a little respect in the Chamber. Then if he goes to prison,the seat will become too hot for any person without the approval of the President/APC Leaders. The fear of Prison will become the beginning of wisdom for most Senators,so most Senators even David Mark will not find the seat attractive again. Then if Saraki knowing or unknowingly stale the Confirmation of any Ministerial Nominee except on corruption ground he will incur the wrath of many Nigerians who are desperate for Ministers to be appointed with its attendant ''job'' creation in terms of PAs,SAs,stomach infrastructures etc and that will make his downfall faster. To me staling any Nominee confirmation for whatsoever reason outside corruption,Saraki will have put another nail to his coffin and thus digging his grave faster than expected. Clearing all the Ministerial Nominees will attract public sympathy to his trials for not fighting dirty even when he had the opportunity and those after his ouster will not have more reasons to invoke other BANNANA PEELS. If you said politics is dirty,go there and wash it with your own detergent. I am using Hypo already....
