PoliticsRe: I Am Tired Of Nigeria – Paul Psquare by Ghandi12: 7:52am On Oct 08, 2015
Bro Psquare. America was built with sweat, pain and blood of passionate Americans. If you are not satisfied with the state of Nigeria Bro you have to get involved and contribute those better ideas you have or have seen elsewhere. Lamentation wont change anything or change the minds of people who already have people mandates for governance.
PoliticsRe: See What Buhari Discussed With Saraki, Dogara And PDP Leaders by Ghandi12: 7:41am On Oct 08, 2015
hinwazaka:
So, in actual sense, he has started to BEG. And some fools will still come on this forum, to twist this story to their own advantage. This is a man, who, in an interview, claimed he would only continue relations with the SP, after the outcome of his trial. But now, fast forward to present day, he is now begging the same individual for BREAD AND TEA. The best he could come up with, was the ineffectual CCB and a staged public stoning of the SP. Anyone who places his faith in the supposed political dexterity of the President and his foolish SW cohorts, is better off worshipping stones and rocks, because with PMB and that useless JAGABAN, you will get nothing but a bad ticket.
This is where most people with your kind of mindset get it wrong. Buhari, all things being equal, is less interested in political intrigue and machinations. He is more interested in entrenching probity in governance and efficient service delivery in all sectors.

He has immense constitutional powers and much brutish options to successfully bulldoze his ways through through but he has chosen a friendly approach to delivering on his mandate. He, practically, controls the overwhelming majority of the voting public approval to stand on and whip big sticks but he is handing out a third chance.

Baba should be praised, for, once again, presenting people with opportunity to see he has no personal grudges against anybody. Anything anyone is facing is a result of "...consequences of their actions or in-actions..."

I will advise you to wait for when people with inherent sleaze throw away this golden opportunity, to forge ahead as a nation, and start new mischief. Then you will understand that Baba's hand of fellowship is an ambrosia that should be accepted quickly by wise dissidents.

Way to go! As at today these are the people that have been legally mandated to manage the affairs of the nation - nothing extraordinary in the meeting and pictures.
People have their individual issues to sort out but, collectively, we still have to move forward as a nation. People with individual issues will sort them out as legally required by the law of the land.

PoliticsRe: Senate ready for 50% pay cut by Ghandi12: 7:11am On Oct 07, 2015
“...The Eighth Senate is doing its best to ensure the success of the present administration. In line with policy of President Muhammadu Buhari to eradicate corruption in all sectors of the economy, we (senators) have already agreed to implement 50 per cent salary cut.
In 2015 Nigeria we need figures, figures, and more figures. This is how transparency and trust can be forged in the system. We the masses have complained about the inappropriate allowances of the NASS members, particularly in the face of persistent dwindling of the nation revenue base and attendant job losses. "Salary cut" sounds dubious when people have also been complaining about the allowances.

Although it is the constitutional duty of RMFAC to prescribe the NASS pay but a concern and trust-seeking NASS will do much more to empathize with the masses by:

Making public all that is, currently, accrueable to every lawmaker - say in a year;
Propose a straight fractional cut that is even much less than RMFAC proposals;
Decimate their N95 Billion annual budget into acceptable figures (N5 - N10 Billion).

Essential NASS structures are already rooted, past budgets since 1999 have already equipped offices with conveniences and tools. Budgets have been made in the past for computers, internet and other working appliances (there should not a Billion naira budget for researches). So new budget should just maintain these facilities, pay workers and not start embarking on new superfluous ventures.

Until they do this they can never earn the respect of most Nigerians. We have always seen them as rogues and erasing this opinion in our minds will take more than canards.
PoliticsRe: Senate May Involve EFCC, ICPC In Ministerial Screening by Ghandi12: 6:22am On Oct 06, 2015
Weeks back there were reports ministerial nominees were being sent through security checks. Have nominees not been passed through DSS, EFCC and ICPC checks already. If they have checked and the President is happy what is the point in the Senate replicating what the Presidency as already done?

The Senate will continue to be seen as a waste of resources until they start taking up consequential challenges that have direct bearing on the masses.
PoliticsRe: Buhari, Dogara Meet Over Saraki’s Trial by Ghandi12: 6:06am On Oct 06, 2015
If these are the benefits of being born into a rich family I am grateful to Almighty I was not born into one. Many commoners are being detained in prison without trials for donkey years - I have never seen these people : Emir Sanusi, Abdusalam Abubakar, Rev. Matthew Kukah and now Dogora taking the lead to plead on their behalf or at least interfere that justice be timely served.

On what basis is Saraki seeking forgiveness? After Saraki is forgiven what moral stand do the EFCC/ICPC/DSS/CCB/Police have to drag any other citizens before the court for graft? The following generations are keenly watching and learning. Saraki's trial so far has sent a very powerful message to all Nigerians that "...people should be ready to face the consequences of their actions and inactions.." especially as public officers.

The same Saraki the nobles seem to be so desperate to safe has been rejected by the overwhelming majority of his own people - they discuss his actions with scorns and indignation.

Even the Almighty recommends repentance prior to forgiveness. Where are all these Emirs when Saraki connived with oppositions and deliberately disgraced the Leaders of his party? Where were they when he was offered another opportunity for remission but decided to flout the advice of the Leaders for a second time.

Anyone who has observed the formation of APC would notice the Leaders have invested so much energy and have had to endure so many adversity in their journey to win the mandate of majority of Nigerians. Amaechi and Kwakwanso came on-board last minutes in a similar way with Saraki but they have remained loyal to all their party's decision. Amaechi for instance has been promised something about 3 times and has been denied 3 times but he has remained a loyal partyman.

APC campaigned for change which they can only achieve with collaboration of APC Senators but Saraki has never behaved as an APC Senator ever since February. He stole APC mandate against the party's wish and gad about with it ; still using APC mandate to work against APC interests.

As for me I can never advice the APC Leaders to let Saraki into their conclave again - the only way of life he understands is all he has demonstrated to all.
PoliticsRe: Senators Bring In New Twist To Stall Ministerial Screening by Ghandi12: 8:41pm On Oct 05, 2015
These people are lucky Baba is now a born-again democrat. These are people that command no respect anywhere, even in their wards, without brandishing Buharism. All this is happening because Baba played it cool with the Senate President election.

But seriously how can APC get back their mandate from this stench-infested house. Imagine, we labored to have a new government for change only for PDP destructive machinery to hijack a piece of our mandate.

While people die everyday all the Senators want to do is create further distraction for the government. Ministers will work with the President not in the Senate - so what is so spectacular in screening people who have already been vetted by relevant security agents. I hope APC leaders are now aware of the grave danger in giving their flag to all manner of characters.

PoliticsRe: Jonathan Lied, 6.9bn Was Spent On 2010 Independence by Ghandi12: 6:41am On Oct 05, 2015
Hey Figures are not supposed to lie. Why cant we have uncontroversial records in our public institutions? Our private sectors have, fairly, been keeping good records in the last decade yet our government establishments have refused to imbibe probity, clarity, and modern technology in our record keeping.

I am aware the Lagos state government, at a time, were having all government transactions posted online. This should be adopted as the national norm. We need to embrace information technology in all our public institution. Information and data on paper are good but are just too slow to access and preserve for today's demands.

For example the NASS is supposed to have online archive of details of all approved spending. All government agencies should also endeavor to keep secured electronic records of all transactions. The technologies to do this are already in use in Nigerian banks and private institutions for almost a decade now.

PoliticsRe: Ministerial List: Wike, Amaechi Take Battle To Senate - The Sun by Ghandi12: 5:55am On Oct 05, 2015
But Wike and PDP claimed they were not interested in whether Ameachi becomes a Minister or not. Wike/PDP violent disruption of APC campaign live on tv is still fresh in our minds.

As for me any failure of the Senate to clear Amaechi based on any frivolous reasons should be placed squarely in Saraki's box of tricks. This is an APC-dominated Assembly. Ameachi is a loyal APC member and if he had been, acceptably, vetted by all relevant security agents only Saraki's show of tricks can delay his clearance not some cruel oppositions from his State.

The same goes for Fayemi and others. All delays or non-clearance should be blamed on Saraki.
PoliticsRe: How Ex-president Arranged Arrest of Diezani - Silverbirdtv.com by Ghandi12: 4:16am On Oct 05, 2015
Mallam Nuhu Ribadu of excellent memories once said before the Senate plenary: " ...they asked us to supply all the names...we gave them all the names of serving and past public officers starting with the name of President (Obasanjo)...they got back to us..."

I do not hold brief for any politician but one thing I know for sure is that an overly corrupt personalty can never earn the respect of advanced nations to bring corrupt people to justice.

So many corruption charges have been taunted against the sitting President Buhari to stain his anti-corruption cv but his public declaration of assets have put a final seal on many's belief of his incorruptibility. A 70+ old Nigerian who had served in various capacities up to Head of States level boasting only of a single Union Bank account is enough to shut off all detractors - who up till now have not been able to come out with anything to the contrary.
PoliticsRe: Other Names Of The Accomplices In Diezieni's Case Finally Released by Ghandi12: 3:56am On Oct 05, 2015
My advice to the youth with foresight.
These people failed , not essentially, because all of them are innately evil ; but because the system they found themselves only gave a limited space for uprightness.

Many on this black list are just pawns and unlucky to get entangled while many are natural-born looters.

Presently, the system is being redirected to discourage all forms of social vices. Youth should start acting honestly and uprightly at all time. Every adolescent knows good from bad. Standing and identifying with good always is the way to go in this new era of our national evolution.
PoliticsRe: My Take On Prince Audu Of Kogi Returning N11 Billion - Cramjones by Ghandi12: 3:33am On Oct 05, 2015
cramjones:
How low can we descend as a nation? The APC chairman for Kogi state was quoted as saying “We heard of Saraki’s case, even Tinubu is being accused of stealing funds but the truth is that Prince Abubakar Audu has pledged to return the money to the Kogi treasury when he gets elected on the November 21st, yes he will return the 11billion naira or even more than that and that will add to the Kogi economy”.
-CramJones
Mr. CramJones I hope you notice this alleged statement is a grave one and its coming from someone else (APC chairman) and not Prince Audu. Also you have not supplied any source for this information. Do you have a video or audio clip to help the law enforcement agents establish this incidents actually took place.

In this season of intense war on corruption people are beginning to value good names again and some are taking unsubstantiated defamation of their image seriously.
PoliticsRe: EFCC Recovers Millions From Diezani Alison-Madueke's Home - Vanguard by Ghandi12: 8:55am On Oct 04, 2015
Again our colonial masters UK are coming to our aids again to teach us how to run an effective system - and we celebrate independence day! In the past it took their intervention to successfully conclude the prosecution of Alamas. Ibori also remained elusive withing the Nigerian Judicial system until our big brother - UK once again took the lead in bringing him to justice. In fairness to Mallam Nuhu Ribadu he showed an uncommon courage and determination to logically bring corrupt officials to justice.

Since Ribadu era, does it mean we can never have another fearless investigators and Judges that can make us proud as a nation and restore dignity to public service?

Does it mean we can never successfully investigate and prosecute politicians with proven corruption cases without UK or US shoulders?

Will our Judiciary wake-up to show resentment against corruption and stop giving haven to corrupt public servants?

Is President Buhari going to take up the challenge of surpassing OBJ/Ribadu achievements? The whole world is taking very virulent stance against public fund theft and other corrupt practices that took place even 30 year ago.

World-famous personalities : FIFA President Sepp Blatter, UEFA President Michel Platini, former FIFA executive Jack Warner and a host of others are facing jailable charges.

Super-stars who have been alleged of taxes evasion are not spared by the Global community. The charges brought against Messi and Neymah for example are jailable.

The President has a huge responsibility in his war against past-corruption and neo-corruption. Corrupt people have war-chest of fund to compromise the system at an level. Even when all loop-holes are blocked they would rather create distractions for the State than facing their charges in the court.

All ills in our society can be directly or indirectly linked to the corrupt practices of few citizens. Bombs, arms and ammunition are not cheap; when bad people have too much money they can always determine when and if we should have peace.

PoliticsRe: Saraki: CCB In Fresh Move Against Senators, Reps by Ghandi12: 1:56pm On Oct 03, 2015
I keep urging President Buhari to turn the EFCC/ICPC/DSS/CCB into revenue recovering/making bodies. These bodies have the potential of competing with NNPC and LNG in the next 2 years. While they dispense justice they should tilt more to confiscating illegally acquired wealth and properties.

The greatest weakness of any thief is when caught and confronted with incontrovertible evidences. It does not have to come public for the remorseful ones who are ready to cooperate - the plea bargaining should simply be about recovering at least 90% of what they looted. But impenitent and arrogant ones should be made examples of.

Worth of most public officers before and after service are just not explicable. How can someone who has only earned salaries for less than a decade without any proof of lawful inheritance or business success be boasting of hundreds of Billion. If what is being circulated as Senator Saraki's wealth, for example, is true then I am afraid others in his wavelength wont be far-off from this absurdity.
The disparity between the 'normal' and 'absurd' worth can easily be worked out at a round table - let them forfeit the the disparity to the State peacefully or be disgraced or/and pelted as the case may be.

If all past and serving public officers take advantage of this opportunity just imagine how much money that will be repatriated into the State cover.

PoliticsRe: BREAKING NEWS: Bomb Blast In Abuja. by Ghandi12: 9:53am On Oct 03, 2015
I am worried this menace has defied all strategies. Annihilating them would have been the best and absolute solution but they have already permeated the fabric of the society that more tact approaches need to be evolved.

Obviously, killing them is not putting an end to their activities neither is the olive branch being offered them by the FG making them change their ways.

President Buhari needs to put BH and North-East as the most important issue in the nation. There can never be any meaningful progress if we continue having internal war of our people on our people. He has initiated some measures but cerebral approaches need to be developed, experimented and results constantly monitored.

People need to be told the truth - no one stepping on Nigerian soil is safe from possible attack from the new methods being adopted by the insurgents. They poisoned drinking water and suicide is nothing to them, they can poison food, and do much worse to anyone and anywhere in Nigeria.

+ Awareness should be serious and consequential. We need to stop deceiving ourselves - we all should panic as the threat is real from Maiduguri to Abuja to Lagos to Port-Harcourt.
+ Government should continue the friendly methods but care for and keep a good surveillance of those who are laying down their arms.
+ The popular motivations among the insurgents should be scientifically analyzed. These motivations must be diluted.

This is an opportunity to use all the budgeted Security Billions to equip and motivate security personnel especially those directly involved in NE and other troubled spots. Modern security is powered by technology and not human.

- All potential attack location should be put on security code red at least for the next 6 months
- Heavy technology areal and ground monitoring should be adopted.
- Nigeria Satellites or contiguous ones should be kept busy all over NE as long as necessary.
- Millions of wireless cameras can be installed in less than two weeks all over strategic NE locations. 100s of movable control rooms for surveillance can be fabricated within 2 months.
- 1000s of wireless alarm network system can be installed in strategic location connected to control rooms.
- Security operatives trainings should be more technology driven than brawn powers.
- Security operatives should be retrained, motivated and given all due benefits.
- People who have no business at all being security operatives should be paid off immediately.
- All reported threats from citizens should be assumed real, immediately investigated and no apology is required for false alarms.
- Police stations and environs should be equipped with modern CCTV cameras, control rooms, alarm networks and other modern communication gadgets.

God bless Nigeria
