It all started like a joke! Saraki has finally shut-down this government...but many people warned Baba of what personalities like this are capable of. |
Ovamboland:I do not think most of us campaigning for "scrapping"of senate are using the word literally. Many of us will perhaps have no issue with the Assembly (as constituted now) if their annual budget is like N10 billion naira and not N120/N150 billion naira. These people have also illegally appropriated N2billion to each ranked Senator and N400 million to non-ranked Senators. These people are just 469 in number out of over 180 million people! Why should their budget be more than States' budgets? They currently have more money than several states in the country. Osun state with about 3.5 million people received N6 million allocation in the last exercise. If only these people had been service-driven and empathetic we could as well maintain this number with N10 billion naira. |
It should not be a question of if anymore it should be when and how are we scrapping it. They allot billions to themselves from national-purse, a good number of them still collecting fat pensions, they spend more time on recess than doing anything positive, they see opportunity to serve as "juicy" and "non-juicy", inspite of public outcries they still allocated 2 billion/Senator project in 2016 budget. As constituted now our Assembly is a House of waste and machinations. Many good people have been canvassing a one house system with transparent and acceptable finances. |
Another confirmation we have been scammed by the "change" slogan. President Buhari promised change but has continued exactly what his party chides PDP of. What mantra will APC use in 2019? We may be poor but we are not foolish. Our supports and votes will not be cheap again. Soon enough we shall start copying Fayoshe and Wike in defending our own territories too. If APC e-fans comments represent the thoughts of their principals then they will be shocked when next they come around shouting "change". We voted out GEJ and we shall do justice to APC accordingly. |
How can 469 people share N120 Billion every year in this same nation with 2.5 million people living as IDPs, barely 5% of graduating students getting employed, and minimum wage pegged at N18,000. You are eating Billions and you want impoverished public to sing your praises? What good have these miscreants done for the overwhelming majority to ask for our support? Have they reduced their irresponsible take-home - no! they are buying exotic cars while we languish in hardship? What about bills taking some of the Billions the lawbreakers, Governors, Ministers and Ex-leaders are currently enjoying now and redistributing it to lift IDPs conditions and pulling millions of poor people out of poverty. |
diegwu01:Really? Do you get this information from all the 36 states because those of us on the street are still groaning? These laughing leaders only demonstrate they don't really care about us. In speech and act they do not see us more than pawns. They have fuel we do not have, no power supply but they always have, our income has dropped while theirs remain untouchable, some of them collect fat salaries and pensions simultaneously. Fela spoke about them and they are still here again... |
ope2711:We get trampled-on by uniformed personnel everyday these comedians never spoke-out against these acts but now one of their overpaid colleagues has just been shown what ordinary citizens face daily they are looking for public sympathy. So called people's representatives - quick to cite laws protecting themselves but where are the laws to protect people you are supposed to be representing. |
Why will they not laugh? They are gloating over our pains - afterall they have Billions every month from public purse, their children in CBN, flying first-class and attending the most expensive schools.
|
I have lost many good things and I dont even do things with government. I am less comfortable and less happy. On the twisted side I am now closer to my family and take more interest in my folks' well-being. |
Like many of his friends there is no record this man ever worked outside public circuit till 2007 when he left as OBJ Vp. Does he now have a private-jet? His daughter a Commissioner ; another one sent to CBN secretly. Many of us registered for the national ID card and are yet to receive our cards years later. The data-capture machine was taken to this man's house early this year and he has displayed his ID before media since. Any ordinary citizen taking bullets for these men is having disorders. |
GeneralTee:I do not know you people but Insha-Allah you will have my widow's mite this week. |
igwegeorgiano:The slap is on this particular madam and not on the faces of millions of unemployed or impoverished internally-displaced people. An unruly public-funded Billionaire slapped another financially-irresponsible public-funded Billionaire and you want the N18,000/month poor-man to feel the pain of this Billionaires slap. 180 millions Nigerians should be excused from all this - let the looters fight their fight abeg. |
AdeniyiA: |
Mr. President has been silent on many issues of grave national importance. His styles are just becoming apparent to most of his supporters (like me) who did not really experience his first coming as a military head-of-state but have relied on narratives. Some of his media comments have also been disappointingly depressing. I have concluded he is not really a champion of talakawas as he was packaged to us in the build-up to 2015 elections. With all evidences available to us today he is not living or acting like a President of suffering people. He is not going to condemn the back-door recruitment nor do anything about it. He is obviously selective in things he attends to. He is not as sensitive as we were made to believe. |
Was irritated by this act but just remember while I struggle to make ends meet these lawmakers are sharing Billions from national purse without thinking of commoners. Legislooters should carry their cross abeg! |
elmisti:Bros when we look at how many Billions those evil people have from public purse while 180 million people suffer we see bags of shit nothing more. For all we care unscrupulous Billionaire can kill another - we go just watch and go our way. No informed Nigerian have true respect for any Nigerian lawmaker. |
This is one trial that will have a significant effect on the success or otherwise of Buhari/APC mandate. Saraki, with the help of PDP, has effectively constituted himself into a barrier to smooth running of government. Their aim is simple to pull-down Buhari's APC. We voluntarily and overwhelmingly gave Buhari-led-APC our mandate but they appear to be handing the mandate back to PDP in their sloppiness. Buhari's FG has failed to take advantage of the fact that every reasonable Nigerian hates the lawmakers and their irresponsible finances since 1999. If Saraki is convicted today I and many friends will borrow money to hold a party tonight. Saraki conviction will most likely start a carnival in Ilorin - his people detest him with passion, take a walk in Ilorin and listen to average people's comments about him. APC/Buhari promised change but are too cautious in dealing with evil people. First they allowed the baby-evil to mingle with them, the baby-evil arrogantly stole their mandate, now they have everything to finish the evil Baba may just jet-out again. If Baba cannot kill this evil he should fly-in OBJ and let us move-on with normal live. |
In all this why is politician salary still fat? |
Count me in! I can mobilize 5 youths with myself in Lagos. |
Someone should please draw attention of Most. Reverend Pastor Osinbajo to this - these are Nigerians that require higher VAT/taxes not those of us jumping okada and yellow buses and struggling to make ends meet. |
Chai I blame Baba. I do not tolerate evil around me mba! Saraki would have become history by now under a President OBJ. But who else can we follow to root-out evil in this nation ![]() |
The President traveled Saraki manipulated the system to become the Senate President. Mr. President traveled the budget became a document of unending controversy. Mr. President traveled Saraki in a meeting meet V.P, Tinubu, Atiku and others. Mr. President has traveled again a Judge may free Saraki from facing justice. I will not be surprised if Mr. President traveled someday and Saraki addressed the nation as the new President. Nothing to draw inspiration from in 1 year of this administration - honesty 0, efficiency 0, productivity 0, rule of law 0, |
For me GEJ was never an option anymore by February 2015. My worst nightmare is PMB/APC are already heading the same way to 2019. |
This Panama thing is not really an issue for private Nigerian citizens according to our laws. Nations calling out their leaders have laws that mandate their citizens to pay taxes on all income (including offshore incomes). Nigeria does not have a tax law mandating non-public office holding citizens to pay taxes offshore incomes. Only public office holders are barred from operating offshore account or mandated to declare offshore interests when taking up public assignments. |
This Saraki has attracted more hate to his name than any other Nigerian politician |
I did a quick check on the ticket cost of Lagos to New-Delhi flight on net it averages around $1700 economy. Lagos to London is much cheaper. These OP information is definitely overblown. I have witnessed good foreign companies leaving Nigeria since late 2014. We later learned they were taking these tough decisions based on economic forecast they did on Nigeria particularly for next decade or thereabout. Many more good foreign employers have laid-off and left quietly - government agencies as FIRS, Pencom, Banks and Phcn would have noticed. Contractors and suppliers to companies would have noticed this trend also. When you have worked with oyinbo you should be alarm when they give you gloomy forecast lasting a decade. They don't just talk - they invest a lot in research and put-in so much effort to predict future happenings. |
Who will lead Nigeria revolution |
solreb:If this story is true this is one of the reasons we rooted for PMB. Many of us have read and heard about his forthrightness and discipline as a military HOS. These are the kind of evils he should stay back home and stop from happening under his watch. We already know our lawmakers are evil but an overly indecisive and unavailable PMB will only make evil doers fledge. |
kayodekb:You did not tell us mothers hardly eat before attending to hungry children needs. Our President, Governors, and lawmakers have the fattest salaries, allowances and pensions in the globe. While we as their "children" do not have power they have 24/7/365 uninterrupted power supply, while we do not have transport fare they have private jets and garage full of unused exotic cars, while we cannot pay our school fees they have their children in most expensive foreign universities. The "mothers" recently put our "brothers" and "sisters" in top-positions in CBN and FIRS. Most unfortunately, these "mothers" through Pastor Osinbajo have just informed us they will be taking more money from us the "children" to keep-up their own flamboyant needs. kayodekb:Your loving father sat you down, raised your leg with his own hands our loving President Muhamud Buhari has been spending more time outside the country. He did not respond to the incessant killings by herdsmen before leaving home again. His lifestyles and that of his associates do not anyway show people are finding it increasingly difficult to eat. We did not campaign for a whiner we thought we were supporting a courageous problem solver. Rooting out saboteurs is one of the duties of a good leader. President MB led government administration may see itself as a loving "mother or father" but we the "children" see them as differently. |
jcflex:One, we are bored and tired of media trials. We are also bored of unending prosecutions without judgements or evidence of loot recovery. Dangote and Dantata are businessmen and may not have broken any Nigerian law except tax-evasion but who will prosecute Gen. Danjuma? Why is Saraki still the Senate President? Because President Muhamud Buhari allows it! |
Another confirmation (APC=PDP) |
Congratulations to Mr. Kachikwu for having the opportunity to serve the nation in this challenging position and at this difficult time. However, the key element has been, how to find foreign exchange for those who want to participate in the stream, who have been doing this traditionally, to get into the space, buy their products, come in, distribute. That’s something we’ve had to work on.Finding foreign exchange for products, as things were, is a sole prerogative of Mr. President. This issue deserves all exigencies - it has practically grown into the most significant politico-economic factor in the short live of this administration. Coupled with issue of power failure Mr. President and his government are loosing people's confidence and support daily. While it is commendable that nnpc under Mr. Kachikwu has come-up with creative means of meeting the forex requirement for steady product supply the ultimate solution still lies with the President powers on forex availability. The forex buffer secured with the upstream major is only for 1 year and from what we see in our daily live this is still a long short of what is required to ensure steady product supply. We already know the permanent solutions (working refineries and secured pipelines) will take a while to put in place. “Of course, the second problem was incessant pipeline disruptions. Literally, if you look at the statistics of this year, as against last year, we’ve had almost two times the number of pipeline disruptions than we’ve had over the last two, three years, in this year and that for us is very disturbing. This factor is also out of Mr. Kachikwu's control. It is glaringly a security and political issue! This is why Mr. President needs to stay back home and solve these teething issues. “We’ve thrown our creative options on the pipelines, by pointing a set of trial, by contracting contractors to get into the pipelines, and show us that they can deliver if we give them the contract. If contracting is already yielding good fruits that is good news but will that eliminate the issue of vandalism? I understand one of the key duties of NSCDC is to protect pipelines but relying on human surveillance like this in 2016 is not going to very efficient. As a permanent solution nnpc and or its contractors should totally embrace pipeline network surveillance technologies combined with human responses. These technologies have been around in Nigeria for a while. For example all Nigeria LNG pipelines are monitored from control room since 2004. We shall do our best to help nnpc and government but that we can only continue while we are hail and hearty. |
