There is a trend. Some forces are bent not to see Amaechi, Fashola and Fayemi resume their post as Ministers. These forces will rather accuse them of corruption on media instead of sending formal petitions to the EFCC/ICPC/DSS/Police. PDP and some dark forces trying hard to separate Baba and his loyal lieutenants. Until Wike/PDP bring an intelligible petition against Amaechi nothing they do can put a wedge between him and Baba. |
Mr Wakili do not worry you will decide what to do when your cups get filled. Baba is not stupid as your kind assume. We the populace are also wiser and more interested in what public officers do with our taxes. At an appointed time NASS will be disinfected - the Saraki traits will be replaced with common sense and probity. |
May Almighty God continue to protect PMB. May He give him long live and strength so that all these children expecting his demise will learn there is God. |

PvtParts:If PMB fight against corruption really pisses you off I will advise you to stay-off news in coming months. This is what PMP knows how to do best ; accountability and discipline. Take time to study his antecedents. He is not going to stop even if he wants to. The loots are too much and the nation's revenue base is dwindling. |
If this information is true this is the worth of our amiable Senate President as at 2003. We would like to know his worth 2015. We will also call on our indefatigable SP or his friends on NL to confirm or debunk this information. |
National revenue keeps going down, understandably, States are finding it harder to keep afloat but the 469-membered-NASS budget is still 10-20% of our national budget. Pastor Saraki, Senator Ben Bruce, Senator Sanni and colleagues should demonstrate how much they care by discussing how to drastically reduce the NASS expenses to reflect the current economic reality of the Nation. PMB needs to overhaul the Top echelon of EFCC, ICPC and CCB. These bodies have the potential of recovering so much money trapped with few Nigerians now. |
Traits of a traitor: chicanery, deception, arrogance, and showboating. This is the same man that is alleged to worth at least a Trillion of Naira as at 2003 having worked as a public servant. He has not come out to defend this allegation but he wants us to celebrate N10 million donation to helpless people. The youth are getting wiser and more interested in your activities. We are not going to be celebrating you for being inexplicably rich again. We shall celebrate the day all loots are recovered from your kinds. Saraki and his kinds are not only evil but unrepentant. You are entrusted with public fund; you help yourself to tune of a Trillion Naira only to come back and distribute rice, vegetable oil and free dinner at Ramadan. We have given Buhari the mandate to 'destroy' your unrepentant kind and only him shall we blame if your kind scot-free. |
How come no one is mentioning Bukola Saraki? Please someone should please bring Ribadu back into the Buhari's fold - this is where he belongs and we need his expertise. Atiku Abubakar or Bukola Saraki will make a perfect choice for PDP in 2019. Both men have natural PDP traits for excellence. |
lekanolas:Royal fathers should be careful before supporting people of questionable characters or they might have themselves to blame. Have they asked Saraki why he chose to humiliate his party Elders? Did they find out from him why he humiliated again? Did they ask him if he is still going to humiliate them again? lekanolas:Another childish attempt at chicanery. Tinubu and Buhari have in-between them decade experience of political persecution, failed political efforts, and outright exclusion from central influence. These men worked their way to where they are today and they stayed out completely when PDP held sway. How in the world will Saraki just believe he can deceive these men by appointing their 'supposed' men into positions. lekanolas:This kind of statement is what makes Buhari uncomfortable sharing a table with Saraki. You deliberately defiled APC leadership be bold enough to face the consequences or follow their instructions. |

IsraeliAIRFORCE:No NASS leader has ever emerged through 'strange and controversial document' before so Saraki/Ekweramadu election is a novelty. Could you please stop calling any Senate business internal legislative matters. The Executives as well as private citizens have the right to challenge all Senate activities in court. The Nigeria court have the power to adjudicate in any matter that has become disputed (within the NASS, within the Executive or between the arms of Government). As a demonstration of Judicial power over ALL disputes. The 7th NASS has the constitutional power to amend the constitution but here the Presidency successfully challenged the NASS effort and brought it to nullity through the court. Supreme Court stops N’ Assembly over constitution’s amendmentsThe court nullified the NASS effort and ruled in favor of the Presidency. IsraeliAIRFORCE:The bone of contention in the petition to the Police is what will likely be contended and determined in the court. |
Good job please keep it up |
hinwazaka:We are all entitled to our opinions. By my observation he has taken many good steps with a few wrong ones. I do not hero worship - I say it the way as it. hinwazaka:In Nigeria more than 80% of voters only understand subsistence economy. Our people vote for diverse reasons and macro economy is hardly one of them. Buhari did not have an easy victory ; he won by 15 million votes to 12 million. hinwazaka:Your blanket statement may be proven wrong soon. Although Buhari has stated he is more interested in recovering loots than sending people to jail. Having been swimming in river of corruption for so long some public servants may not understand time has changed and will still work their way to jail. There are several active malfeasance cases on EFCC/ICPC/DSS/Police/CCB table and any of them may eventually lead to conviction. For example the Personal Assistance to Onyeka Onwenu was sentenced to jail few days ago. |
coldFLARES1:Case close |
Intelligent debate is what I expected. It means you putting up response to all my positions and me defending my positions. I have responded to all you posited but you have derailed your own template I adopted. The following is an example of meaningful debate using your last positions: IsraeliAIRFORCE:Using the 2015 Senate Rules presently does not make it legitimate moreso as some Senators are in court to challenge its legitimacy. This is not a jungle where public financed body can run businesses with impunity and underhand approaches. FYI a private Lawyer once challenged the process of appointing service chiefs by the President without Senate clearance in court. The case was decided in his favour without any input from any Senator. Since this pronouncement it has become a law for newly-appointed service chiefs to be confirmed by the Senate. I posit again altering a document without having legitimate right to do so is forgery. An altered document that nobody is owning-up to is orphaned and not less than forged. IsraeliAIRFORCE:I have advised you to take me up point-on-point so we wont have to merry-go-round. The Senate is financed by public taxes from people like me. The Senate's conducts and decisions directly affect every Nigerian live home and abroad. Like the Lawyer that brought a change to the Senate without Senate input every Nigerian has the right to question perceived illegality. IsraeliAIRFORCE:Nobody rules Judiciary out on a disputable or disputed issue - not even the President. The Judiciary is the only one that can rule itself out. The Nigeria constitution empowers the court to entertain ALL disputes ALL (including disputes from NASS and Executives). |
Obiagelli: |
I will let one pass. Now we will work with your template. IsraeliAIRFORCE:Brilliant! we both agree there is a document called Senate standing rules. Wrong! not all previous Senates amended the document; some Senate used it as passed-down. All recommended, deliberated, and approved amendments are all well documented. IsraeliAIRFORCE:An amendment by unauthorized people is forgery. An amendment by people who are not ready to own-up publicly is also not less than forgery. IsraeliAIRFORCE:There is no dispute on which body responsible for the amendment. The precursor rules have been amended and ratified by the 6th Senate on the procedure for amending any part of the rules thenceforth. IsraeliAIRFORCE:The parent rules is very clear on who has the power to amend any parts of the rules and how the rules can be amended. It can only be amended by the plenary of the Senate. IsraeliAIRFORCE:This statement or action does not legitimize the Senate rules 2015 (as amended). IsraeliAIRFORCE:The Senate is a Federal Republic of Nigeria Senate. Funded by the public and answerable to public and legal court. The document is not a 'beer-parlor' document - it is not internal and it is surely open to public scrutiny. The people in Court are concerned 8th Assembly Senators that also believe the original document has been illegally tampered with. |
hinwazaka:"Superior gifting" has nothing to do with spoils but 'gifts' that yield desired results. Buhari has started well and there is no reason for him to loose focus at 70+. This is recession and his popularity is soaring guess what will happen when he has more money and credible people to work with. For every looter successfully brought to books the Buhari brand waxes stronger in the mind of the masses. See more looters returning their loots and see the 'gifted Senator' and 'gifting Senators' begging for relevance. |

Good gesture but things need to be put in proper perspectives. Considering misinformation has been the order of recent time we will encourage Senator David Mark to make public the names, schools and departments of the benefactors. We also urge the benefactors to publicly identify with the Senator's kind gesture. But like Oliver Twist we will keep asking for more: What we have now as the income of the NASS members is no more justifiable considering the state of our national economy. Senator David Mark should impress on his colleagues to slash their income and allowances by 70% so that more money will be available for the downtrodden. With more money available to the masses we can also pursue our own dreams without having to bother our elected representatives. We need our own fishing gadget; tired of eating fish crumbs from Senators' table. |
Warmis:This statement is not entirely correct. Let us dissect things further. These is the list of the Senate and HoR leaders from 1999 to date: Senate President: Chuba Okadigbo 1999-2000 PDP Pius Anyim 2000-2003 PDP Adolphus Wabar 2003-2005 PDP Ken Nnamani 2005-2007 PDP David Mark 2007-2015 PDP *Bukola Saraki 2015-DATE APC HoR Speaker: Salisu Buhari 1999-2000 PDP Ghali Na’Abba 2000-2003 PDP Aminu B. Masari 2003-2007 PDP Patricia Etteh 2007-2007 PDP Oladimeji Bankole 2007-2011 PDP Aminu W Tanbuwal 2011-2015 PDP Yakubu Dogora 2015-DATE APC Could you please categorize these Heads as 'choice of the executives' and 'non-choice of the executives'. From there we can establish if your hypothesis is true. |
IsraeliAIRFORCE:We need to be unambiguous here. If you have answers to the following question please give them or we may have to wait for the people involved to answer the questions. Which Senate leadership? The 7th Senate Leaders ? (David Mark and Ekweremadu) ? or The 'ones' elected on June 9 (Saraki and Ekweremadu)? or the Clerk of Senate or/and NASS. Which current leadership? The 'ones' elected on June 9 (Saraki and Ekweremadu)? or the Clerk of Senate or/and NASS. Please list the name (s) of the current National Assembly leadership that effected these changes. IsraeliAIRFORCE:Each senate (not faceless senators) comes with its own rule. All previous rules have origins and authors that have publicly narrated their roles and defended their inputs to the Senate standing orders Who are the authors of Senate standing order 2015? Their names please. Some Senators have rightly observed the '2015 rules' was not introduced as enshrined in the precursor document. They also observed significant changes have been made in the '2015 rule'. They are asking question and nobody is ready to answer. They have done the right and legal thing by approaching the law enforcement officers to investigate and bring any offender to book. We the masses are very much interested in the conducts of our elected representatives. We want to know if they are worthy of our respect or not. A Senate that is planted on forged rules would find it extremely hard to win the respect of observing masses. |
hinwazaka:Loyalty earned through gifting can be easily eroded by a superior gifting. I still do not understand why people seem to forget the past quickly. Half of the Senators in the Senate today got voted in on one brand - Buhari. Have you ever seen any Senator or Bukola Saraki publicly speaking against Buhari? It will not happen they would rather pick on Tinubu. |
IsraeliAIRFORCE:Is it possible for you to debate without insults? You have not responded to the questions I put out to you neither have you contravened my submission on the history of the Senate standing orders from 1999 to date. |
He said the need for official disclosure of the figures became necessary in view of the current campaign for full disclosure of funding of all tiers and arms of government. He added that “until you open up your books to the public, let them look at how much you earn, and break that payment down into sub-heads and what that payment is for. It is after you open that up that the debate on whether it is too much or too little can then begin. For instance, if you bring it down, say for transportation, this is how much a lawmaker gets, the public can determine whether the amount is too much for transportation or not. There are many conflicting figures and you leave yourself vulnerable to speculations as a legislator if you are not transparent and you don’t open up your books. So, I am in support of the National Assembly to open up its book to the public and publish it.’’ (NAN).More blessings Hon. Gbaja. This is one of the sure ways the NASS can earn people's respect and be accorded the same support as the Buhari-Led-Executive. The figures we have been reading are not justifiable with the current economic situation of the Nation and the world at large. When the palace is filled with food and wine while the street keep loosing job you have chaos, disdain for the elites and in worst situations BH. |

IsraeliAIRFORCE:Before you can quote a 'rules' you may want to confirm its authenticity. Is there anything known as the 2015 Senate Standing order? If there is one, what is its content; any amendment from the passed-down rules? Who approved the content or amendments? Is there any verifiable records of any observed amendments? Who amended it? Do these people have the constitutional or legal right to amend it? IsraeliAIRFORCE:The Nigeria Senate belongs to all Nigerians. Every Nigerian is a stake-holder in the Senate matter moreso a tax-paying Nigerian. Finished products from the Nigeria Senate affect day-to-day live of every Nigerian world-wide and it is everyone's civic duty to question irregularities when noticed anywhere in the system. That is why I am crying. IsraeliAIRFORCE:Your statement is erroneous, the historical details of the Senate standing orders from 1999 to date have been extensively discussed on and off this platform. It has been established that all Senate rules from 1999 to 2014 have a common source. It has also been established that the original rules has always been passed-down from previous Senate to the new one. This rules has undergone a number of structured amendment. In fact the procedure on how to subsequently amend the rules has been deliberated and ratified at a Senate plenary. |
I hope Governor Obiano has done his home work very well. Increasing salaries when bad economic news keep tripping in from all over the world may not be a good idea at this time. |
Warmis:Please take your time and study events of Nigeria return to democracy since 1999. There are so much to learn and this may shape your future contribution to topics like this. Saraki and Ekweremadu owe their seats to the powers that be as long as they want to tolerate them. All it takes to remove the 2 is just a go-ahead command from one man. |
IsraeliAIRFORCE:All previous rules and amendments as you acknowledged have known and verifiable sources. The '2015 rules' has embellishments with no record of the source nor anybody owning-up to its emergence. Why will people create rules they cannot publicly claim authorship of? If they failed to own-up the document may stand orphaned thence forged. There is nothing internal anymore in a rules that has been in use since 1999 and has undergone structured amendments to the end of the last Senate. The Senate does not belong to the Senators - it belongs to the people that part away with taxes that finance them. They are answerable to the public. Much has been given to them and that comes with high level of responsibilities. If this forgery is allowed to stand then do not blame those of us down the rung that may choose to take after them. |
