One would'nt not expect an adult to be discussing licentiously on social platforms but in this age of photoshop and twisted reporting Mr. Ayo is the only one who can defend himself. |
Rev. Kukah and his friends the defenseless poor are awaiting you let the politicians defend themselves. |
There is no honour among thieves. These biggest thieves in the land want to divert our attention from their 150 Billion naira budget. We will not forget, not even for a second if they like they should probe from 1960. How much will this probe cost? And what do we, as a nation, stand to gain. What power do they have after probing?! None. They do not have power to prosecute. They do not have power to recover loots. They do not have power to arrest. The Presidency has been ignoring their motions since 1999 and nothing has happened. It is high time we made these people job part-time or completely remove them from our constitutional government. |

We are with you APC but you need to prove your detractors wrong. We cannot wait to read about legally confiscated properties and repatriated Billions. If you need help many Nigerians are ready to volunteer. It is all simple arithmetics and Nigerian youth heads dey shake. |
The Senate has just done their job - they do not deserve any commendation from anybody. Edo people should monitor the use of this money in the spirit of the anti-corruption drive of the FG. |
maestroferddi:Unimpeachable?! but these are your earlier words: maestroferddi: |
Nairaland rule 1. Please post all threads in the right section, and don't derail threads by posting off topic. maestroferddi: |
You and I are not saying the same thing. Highlighted below is where I take exception to Rev. Kukah. He needs not dabble into former President Jonathan's advocacy. His words: “There is no such thing as probe in a democratic setting like ours. What obtains is investigation, and once people lead and things are not right, investigation becomes necessary.Did Rev. Kukah serve under GEJ? Is he GEJ lawyer? |
Just a curious one... Amaechi left an empty treasury in Rivers state where is Wike getting this money from? |
maestroferddi:You appear to be derailing this thread. You are turning it into praise-singing of Mr. Jonathan. The topic here is on the interview granted by a respected Rev. Kukah. |
maestroferddi:No mortal should be apotheosized. I have only commented on the alleged quote of the Reverend. If the quotes are true he is going anti-people and anti-God. Over 70% of Nigerians live below poverty line and these are the ones that need the attention of the likes of Rev. Kukah. He should not be seen to be defending the powerful who are accused of helping themselves to the funds meant for better life of the poor. maestroferddi:Anyway I am not "some of you guys". I know every mortal is fallible and I don't believe Buhari is perfect. maestroferddi:I do not see Buhari as a Messiah but Buhari's behaviour is what we have been missing in Presidency since Obasanjo - Authority, decisiveness, and consequential actions. |
ndcide:Most investors...it shows law, order, probity and definitely economic stability in the long run. |
I raise my hand for a protest at the NASS. If there is anyone who can mobilize us here I promise a minimum of 10 of my friends to be in Abuja. |
kITATITA:Bullshit! The same people that voted GEJ in replaced him with PMB. PMP mandate is from the Nigeria people and not some self-serving committee. President Buhari has the Nigeria people mandate to probe all corrupt public servants and recover the loots. The people against the anti-corruption crusade never supported nor voted for PMB. The pro-corruption people should wait till 2019 to put their own corruption-inclined President in power. |
I am not privileged to see this interview but I have an advice for these self-appointed thieve advocates - You are not doing God's bidding defending unrepentant thieves and you will have your fingers burnt. These people are quick to defend the high and mighty that have cornered Billions of the nation's commonwealth but they failed and still fail to admonish these thieves that for every kobo they steal there is a child loosing his live in the creek. This kind of anti-people campaign is a quick way to soil their image before the masses. Majority voted for Buhari because he promised us he would recover stolen funds. We the teeming masses are solidly behind Buhari's efforts at recovering all looted funds irrespective of personalities involved. |
Ekiti people wont realize what they are doing to themselves until they visit other states. This is the first time I am seeing this gasbag inspecting a project and all he has to show is an excavator scattering some sands around. Ekiti people should come together and liberate their people from this new mental-slavery. |
hinwazaka:Sorry brother not everyone is greedy and unscrupulous. I and many other Nigerians will not be feeding fat on public fund when the nation is in dire economic situation. How do you want us to focus on other issues while the poverty level in the system has increased? The first thing a man think of is food then other things. In case you dont know. The Senate comprises of 109 Nigerians with a budget of 150 Billion naira - this budget is first-line and more than the budget of about 20 states in Nigeria. |
sayyid:Nice one but we are already contributing via other platforms like Nairaland, Twitter and facebook. You are not doing us any favour by opening your books - it is our right to know as tax-payers. You are remunerated by public funds and taxes. One burning issue you and your colleagues have failed to address is the fact that you people are earning too much from public fund while the nation grapple with economic woes. Let us start with your budget and allowances - what about 70% slash? sayyid:Yes ooo we never envisaged anyone would have the effrontery to forge a Nigeria Senate order in year 2015. We also dont see anything positive about that. |
Is there anyone here that can mobilize for a protest in NASS. I promise a minimum of 10 friends to confront these evil people. |
Teaching the youth what? How to bankrupt banks? How to under-develope a State? How to forge documents? How to be disloyal or arrogant? Most of these youth are tax-payers and their center-figure is living on their taxes. Did they bother to ask him questions on why the Senate he leads has so much money in-spite of the bad economic situation of the country. Youth groups should start realizing these people are not our gods - they are public servants living on our taxes and public fund. Stop worshiping them - its an insult to other tax-payers. |
Are we loosing the anti-corruption war already? This will fall short of people expectations. The best this committee will achieve is Igbinedon kind of retribution where you are accused of stealing Billions but allowed to pay back a few Million naira. What is the role of this committee in the cases already before EFCC/ICPC/DSS/CCB/Police? They are called 'advisory' (to the Presidency) but they are already calling out offenders to come-and-confess...for soft-landing. Why setting-up a body when you have not determined its scope of operations. We already have legally established bodies : EFCC/ICPC/DSS/CCB/Police handling many corruption cases and ready to receive more. If the Presidency trust these Elderstatemen more why not give them the headship of the already established bodies. In this country we have experienced substantial loots recovered legally with superb efficiency under Ribadu. Ribadu, under global bodies sponsorship, has since been to a good number of African countries training them how to build a corruption-free system. The nation is currently experiencing economic decline - too many youth and children future are tied to this Government. Our economic mainstay Oil is continually loosing its value everyday. The US is not relenting in her effort to crash the oil prize, even, further and they already have the keys. This opportunity to recover looted Trillions of dollars sitting idle should not be wasted on the alter of sentiments. |
The General Overseer of Mountain Of Liberation And Miracle Ministries (The Liberation City), Pastor Chris Okafor, fondly called ‘oracle of God’, has challenged Nigerians to pray against the plan of the Devil on the country, saying prayer was the only thing that could avert the impending doom. Prayer, according to him was necessary following a revelation he received from God. |
A couple of days ago a NLder shared his dream of a crashed aircraft and political happenings. We all should endeavor to spend some time seeking God's face and mercy for our Nation. RIP to the dead. |

Thank you Mr. Rogue SP we are learning a lot from your fantastic legacies = stealing, forgery, and disloyalty |

Good motion from the Senate but our Honorables can do much more for the masses. While NASS motions may be disregarded by the Executives the NASS has the power to make more money available for the masses by drastically cutting their budget and incomes. Over the years the oversight functions of the NASS have yielded little or no results at all. If the NASS really want to work for the masses they should first recognize the gloomy economic situation of the nation. They need to identify with the masses by cutting their income by at least 70% to to conform with the economic reality of the country. We also advise they concentrate more on making masses-oriented-laws than passing motions they can not enforce. |
This is one of the banes of our failure in nation building. This Body was recognized as a pre-election peace initiative but to the glory of God we have had a relatively peaceful elections five months ago. We now have a constitutional government in place, what is the business of this committee again dishing out instructions to an elected government. Why are they visiting the Speaker again? Will they also visit the Senate President? What happens when they get blur-faced by politicians? These people are coming together again to constitute nuisance to the gradual reforms being undertaken by the Buhari-led Administration. The electorates have voted Buhari because of his anti-corruption stance. The masses in in total support of Buhari actions to date and this few should, please, go manage their personal businesses. Rev. Kukah, Abdu-Salam and friends should leave Buhari alone abeg. |
azimibraun:You have spoken well, I agree with your submission. PDP/Wike are afraid of a leveraged Amaechi. If you read the news again you will notice Wike/PDP are more interested in public crucifixion of Amaechi than thoroughly scrutinizing his 8 year tenure as Rivers Governor. If I were Buhari I will not deny Amaechi his deserved right to serve because of a petition from people that killed opponents to get to power. We all witnessed live on TV as Wike's PDP invaded APC campaigns going on killing sprees. The same live-tv-killers are, unfortunately, still in power in Rivers state. |
