chinchum: Sorry to say, this is bullshiit, with all due respect mr Fidelis.
Dont reinvent the wheel, i am no hater.
Nigeria needs INNOVATION, not trying to compete with oyinbo, you will never win, this piece of metal is PLAYING TO THE GALLERY.
We NEED LOCAL TECHNOLOGY TO VERY PECULIAR LOCAL NEEDS. How about designing cheap but efficient and effective local threshers for our maize and rice farmers ?
How about moving scarecrow for rice farms to scare birds from eating up? e.t.c
Designing planes, helicopters, and excavators in a 3rd world country in 2015 is not harnessing your technology to suit pressing needs.
EDIT: I expect village idiots to view this with their tribalistic lens. The shallow ones are even asking what have i built This post is for sensible individuals, and it is as constructive as it can get. Such an idiotic post, you have someone without formal education produce this, and you are saying nonsense, when the chinese started competing with the west, did they produce the same quality ? Now everyone goes to them for cheaper alternative, Nigeria bought her armed drones from them, we are also talking about buying fighter jets from them. Nigeria's proforce produces armoured vehicles today, in your own twisted way of thinking their vehicles cannot compete with those of the western world. You can go and produce your moving scare crow and patent it, no one cares. |

Nonsense! It is very annoying when this agencies misinform the public, the army, police, state government and even the federal government are all involved in this act. Let the citizens know things as they are, no need to sugar coat or lie, we need to stop practicing this misinformation strategy . |

Acidosis: Story
It doesn't change the fact that NCC, like the typical Nigerian, is greedy. Always wanting to reap sharp money through back-door.
I really don't care about the agreement. The prevalent body language of y'all shows ALL we want is the fall and death of MTN because the firm is headquartered in South Africa.
Firms all over the world face sanctions. Apple, Samsung, Gucci, Absolut, just name it, but we hardly see people celebrating such actions. I mean people that will benefit ZERO naira from the outrageous fine. It is people like you who travel outside the country and obey the law to the letter over there, but complain when ever you are sanctioned here in nigeria. |

PappyMason: Who told you we do not have a choice?
If we developed our petrochemical industry and sold refined resins do you know we will earn 30 times what we do now with crude and generate the much needed jobs?
If we looked towards strategic direction investments outside the exploitative west we will develop the infrastructural gap and also see our commodity prices sold for better returns.
But no. The only thing you see is to go cap in hand and sell yourselves to the devil himself.
This is why the west chose that illiterate Buhari. Even the petro chemical industry is experiencing a decline right now,one of the major problem with Nigeria oil industry is the absense of functioning refineries, how can we develop our petro chemical industry when we have no functioning refinery ? We need to move away from 100% dependence on crude first, petro chemicals can never produce as much employment opportunities as agriculture or the steel industry . |

stevecantrell: We will know by January. I already have a bad feeling about that. Everyone knows IMF policies are not good for developing economies, but we really do not have a choice here, only those who are seeking to use this as a political weapon will not identify the need for those loans. |
Politics › Re: Buhari Heads To Washington To Conclude Details Of An IMF Loan Package by giantstrides(m): 11:38am On Nov 13, 2015 |
PappyMason: If you follow the narrative in this thread you will see that the Chinese option was what the last administration was opting for to both attract foreign investments and to bridge the infrastructural gap.
Or have you resigned yourself to the IMF and Paris Club as our shameless APC govt has shown so far? So you believe we can simply rely on china in providing loans in jump starting our economy , considering the recession china has been hit with lately , are you implying that we rely on a country for funds, rather than an international agency for loans ? Collecting loans is the first thing , holding the leaders accountable is another thing , whether you like it or not, if the loans are really used in diversifying the economy, and used for our much needed infrastructure such as rail, power and agriculture, NIgeria will be better off for it. The only problem I have with this might be IMF conditions for granting us the loan. |

PvtParts2: The "Nigeria is broke" lie Since you are such an expert, how do you propose the FG jump starts the economy and diversify the economy from crude oil revenue based, in the face of dwindling oil sales and low revenue without seeking loan ,Or is this just criticism without proposing your alternate argument ? |

Emmason505: Hope boko boys will not lay their hands on it oo or else some part of Nigeria will be history. Even if they lay their hands on it, turning it into weapons grade uranium is another ball game entirely, so it will be useless to boko haram . However the economic potential is very huge for Nigeria because right now there is a huge tussle between USA and China for rare earths in Africa. Also there was a proposal for a nuclear power plant in akwa ibom, I hope they have not jettisioned the idea. |

Politics › Re: Is Ike Ekweremadu A Coward And A Disloyal PDP Man? by giantstrides(m): 6:46pm On Oct 29, 2015 |
Jorussia: For not standing side by side with his fellow PDP senators today, on the confirmation of Amaechi,i feel the DSP,showed to whole world that he is a coward. Saraki stood on the side of APC,when it became obvious that the issue of amaechi, has taken the dimension of APC vs PDP.Ekweramadu as the PDP senator holding the highest ranking position in the Senate, should have stood up to show solidarity with his fellow PDP senators. To me,ekweremadu today showed that he is not a sincere loyal PDP man. It is not cowardice, ekweremadu choosing to stay behind shows the PDP caucus that no matter what saraki does PDP has no choice if they want to have a say in the 8th senate. I hate to admit it but ekweremadu's position has made saraki very safe, he can get away with a lot of things dogara will not try in the house of Reps because the PDP see him as a necessary evil if they want to remain relevant in the senate. |
