Graciouscharis:
Just like other moms suggested, breastfeed her while lying down for the sake of your sanity. I did that with all my children. I enjoy good night sleep with no issues.

Here’s what I do.

1: I co sleep. I had to alter our lying position to achieve what I want. I created a space for him close to the wall with the bed frame leaning on the wall.
2: No light. I don’t on my light. I use the light from my tv ( it’s on energy saving mode). I train them to sleep without light once I get home from the hospital.
3: No smile, no play. While changing diaper if need be, I don’t smile, talk or play with my baby at night. I avoid noise and put you back to sleep once i’m through.
4: I follow their cue. As Babies, my children don’t like being covered except if it’s extremely cold. 0 to 3 months, I wear them onesie and overall for bedtime. As they get older, I dress them according to the weather and try to regulate the temperature of the room.
I let them sleep on their tummy. There are babies that’ll keep waking up until you let them sleep on their tummy. Yes, there are natural tummy sleepers even oyibo people know that.
When they are 0 to 15 days, I lie him on his sides. 15 days upward, I lie him on his tummy.

I’v done this with all my children and they start sleeping through the night once I wean them off the breast. I breastfeed while lying down and can say for sure that it’s not difficult to stop.
If my baby is wide awake in the night, I leave him to play alone and continue my sleep. Most times he goes back to bed within minutes and I sometimes use my legs to cross the side so he won’t roll over without my knowledge.
There’s nothing on the bed where he lies and the bedsheets is well tucked in. My room is well ventilated too.
Thanks, my baby likes sleeping on her tummy too, as soon as you lay her on her back, she'd roll over on her tummy and keep sleeping, doesn't stop her from waking up so often tho, we don't use light too, I try not to cover her but her dad is obsessed with keeping her warm even when I dont think she's cold, I'm waiting until he grows tired of that one.

I know I've asked before but I've forgotten, biko what is the least sweet cereal you know. My baby does not like sugar at all. Is there any cereal that has a sour cheesy or tangy taste or atleast is not too sweet. My mum said I should buy Nutrend cuz it's not too sweet but I haven't seen it in all the shops I've checked, I don't know if they are still selling it in Lagos. please any other suggestions or who knows where I can find nutrend. I cant pack August secrets as her 4 meals at the Creche. cheesy

hunniesuzie:
It's not hunger. Just spoilt behaviour, even when they suck, they fall asleep before 5 mins sef grin
I know its not hunger, 5 mins is even too much, sometimes one minute and she's off, as if she just wanted to wake me up

cheesy sorry dear I think she get hungry at interval that's why she wakes up maybe if she's fill it would reduce the wake up time. When my son was lil b4 I introduce formula he will wake up at interval, but wen I fed him formula at night he will sleep so well that I would be d one to wake n feed him during d night. maybe u shd try give her formula or cereal at night b4 bed and dat method hunniesuzie mention dey work too but u have to be vigilante so that nipple won't slip make bm no pour for lo nostril or make breast no choke lo nose
I doubt it's hunger o cuz I've tried feeding her plenty pap just before bed time, didn't stop her from waking up in an hour. I sha tried hunniesuzzie's style last night and I slept better than I have in a long time, Hubby even claims she slept thru the night and thats cuz he never heard her cry. Thats my new method now, sleeping with bress on display cheesy

Lol, I started doing it when work resumed, my baby was 3 months old. I can confirm that none of those things have ever happened [s]Except of course your boobs are the H cup type in which case I may not have any advice for you[/s] . In fact, my baby is so used to it that before he opens his eyes he first turns his head to either side looking for brezz, then waves his hands in the air trying to touch me, then cries a little bit - all of this with his eyes tightly shut oh! - if that fails then he will open his eyes and look for me/cry
lmao @hcup, I'd start the lying down to breed then, someone cannot come and run mad cheesy

If you at this stage hace not been breastfeeding while lying down, then you are the real mom.
biko just lie by her side, put the breast in her mouth and off to slumberland.
no child of mine will i sit down to breastfeed at night when i need my precious sleep.I do this from the day of birth.
Jina24:
@Giddyperson, why not try lying down and breastfeeding. That's how I've been doing o since she was two months there about. I can equally sleep while she eats/sleeps.
Thanks you guys

Lmaooooo welcome to my life. Lie her beside you, pop the bobby out and give her, continue your sleep. At some point you will wake up and see she's asleep, roll over and enter gear 2. This is the only way to function when you need to wake up early for work the next day.

Yes, random aunty judgina about to quote this, I know it would be a hard habit to break...leave it like that, I need my sleep grin grin grin
lol, my hubby is the judgina in question here, the few times I've tried to breastfeed while lying down he would wake up and start saying, what if the breastmilk enters her ear, what if your boobs cover her nose and she stops breathing, what if what if what if, I'd just get tired and sit up or he would carry her and rock her till she cries herself to sleep, either way both of us never get any much sleep. But it's not even about that again, I want to teach her to start sleeping through the night. I'm tired.

Biko nu I need help, my baby wakes up every hour, sometimes twice in one hour. I've not slept in so long i might soon run mad. What should i do, when would it end. She only used to wake up once or twice since birth and i thought by the time she's 6 months she would be sleeping through the night only for her to come and get way worse. I think it's partially my fault cuz she can't go back to sleep without bobby in her mouth, so now every little waking up she would wail until you carry her and bfeed then she would sleep off immediately. This happens like 8 times or more in one night. I'm trying to stop the excess bfeeding and try to tap her back or put her on my shoulder and rock her back to sleep but she just screams louder until you bring bobby. This post is getting so long, I don't even know what I'm typing again, I lack sleep. Biko nu help me before I run mad. Which one be the riot act again? grin
Choi, she's still vexing. That could have easily been me sha cuz my method of replying mentions/pm is very lazy, esp when i get more than three at a time, right now I'm still going through my mentions to reply yesterday's own even tho I've already replied more recent ones. Plus it's Nairaland, the mentions button just misbehaves every now and then and won't show notification for some mentions. Pele I know it's annoying.

I actually enjoyed the hair, i enjoyed not making my hair for 6 months cuz i hate pain, but when i remember all the stress the hair has caused me. Making it was extremely painful, washing and retwisting was extremely painful, uninstalling was long and tedious, washing and combing after uninstalling was extremely painful cuz my hair has almost locked. It cut my hair like crazy

These days it takes a whole day of scouting Lagos Island and finally settling for something not so appealing. You should have seen what I wore at my wedding a case of when size 43 feet swells to 47 cheesy cheesy cheesy Thankfully the dress hid it. But mainly whenever I have people travelling i try to order from obodo oyibo stores that cater to people with my kind of feet, atleast then I get nice shoes.

aww the mail i used in registering Nairaland is long lost..so pm dont work.. benigasweety said she used Gold premium Kinky, though am yet to look for it or buy it.. i dont mind more suggestions myself..

I think giddyperson also made dread cos she posted a pic but i missed the picture.. giddyperson whats the name of the one u used to make thread, and do u mind posting a pic of just ur hair??
I can't remember jare but I'd ask the hairdresser. I know there were two major ones in the market and one had better quality and cost more. If you shop on amazon tho you can order sensationnel kinky afro braids, used to get it on amazon and the quality is great, Still have some left over, I'd confirm the name tomorrow and attach a picture.
