Goodevening mamas
Trust your day went well
Ma petite has been referred to see a dermatologist concerning the recurrent skin boils cos i can't really classify it as rashes. She's been having these since she was 4 months old, and till now @ 22 months we are still having episodes at least once every 6 weeks
These stuffs that shows up on her legs and arms have really dealt with my dear. They itch terribly and when she scratches and d water that comes out touches another place they pop up in other points too

So we saw a specialist today who said d primary diagnosis is popular urticaria, though she thinks it could be insect bites and her skin is super sensitive...I told her I doubted that anyway and that i suspected food allergy cos whenever she eats soya or groundnuts she'll have an outbreak. I also noticed that she reacts to disposable daipers i mean all the ones we have tried but is comfortable with 100% cloth daipering.

She said no doubt her skin is sensitive to the components of the disposables, and adviced i just stick to cotton if that be the case
Na wa which Kain skin dis pickin get na...I find it tough to keep up with cloth daipering o honestly @ Alphahandmaiden I need tips please. Thank God she's already started potty training..I can't wait to stop using diapers. I just pray I don't have such issues with my next baby by his grace cos this skin issue is energy sapping

The Dr said food allergy test is usually her last resort cos its expensive, say like 80k i was like jeeezzz! Thats a huge sum

She just adviced i cover her legs properly whenever she's out to avoid insect bites like sunfly n d likes which could also b d culprit, change her bathing soap to DOVE cos its mild, keep watching what she eats, use a tropical antibacterial cream when d need arises and stop flooding her system with antibiotics cos honestly thats what we've been doing all the while and now it seems her system is too used to it that it seldom works

Though, it was soothing to hear that she will outgrow it soon.
This is a quick update incase any baby here is having same recurrent skin issues
May God protect our LO's for us
My hubby and his siblings have this kinda allergy. He would eat something and big big bumps would appear all over his body then disappear over the next few hours. And so many foods cause it its almost impossible to narrow down whats causing it. Ive noticed that most of his nieces have allergies too, one had this boil issue that sounds so similar to what you are describing, her mum tried everything but people told her she should just wait that the baby would outgrow it, and the baby finally did, at about 3 years old.

Correct green poo oo. @ giddyperson, I tot I was the only one whose baby reacted to this mixed Gerber cereals, They took the Gerbervoats, rice and multi grain well with no issues. I no know who send me to buy oatmeal/ apple and Cinnamon and the multigrain and apple sweet potato o. Chai! We landed in the hospital for the first time because of stooling. If u r doing cereals, pls just let it be single grain and give real fruits abeg.
thought it was just us o. Thanks for the suggestion

have u tried nutribom?
Thanks, I wanted to try one of the nutribom that was recommended for me here but my sis went and bought the rice cereal mistakenly. That thing is horrible, I dont think any baby would ever like it. Anyway, Is there a special reason you are recommending nutribom and which of the cereals do you think I should try. I need one that's not sweet

Oh sorry teamie am just seeing this through my mentions, my baby don't wake up at night o, once she sleeps around 9:30pm in dthe evening next time you hear him cry is 6:30 or 7am when his brother starts preparing for school. He started this from a month. I think its cos he sleeps alone in his cot and is blessed with heavy sleeping anointing. Am saying this cos his brother wakes up like giddy baby when he was small and we cosleep then. Sacrifice of motherhood dear.
Choi lucky you.

Please mamas I didn't know there are ones for sitter and supported sitter until I got home and noticed the top right of the can says sitter and supported sitter but my baby is a sitter. She sits without support. My question is, can I give her the one for supported sitter?
I'd give if I where in your shoes, I'd think twice about giving sitter cereal to a supported sitter but the other way round seems safe to me, your baby can handle it. Bought this Gerber oatmeal and apple cereal for my baby some days back and after day 1 she pooed one scary looking green poop. This is the second brand of cereal thats causing green poop, seems August secrets is all my baby is ever gonna be able to eat, I give up.

mamas please help me I'm loosing it, my baby is yet to latch on my breast at first I thought my nipple was too big for his mouth but when he was born but he is two weeks today and yet anytime I put him to suck from my breast he will start crying. A day to his naming ceremony I was forced to get him SMA gold when I found out the breast milk I'm expressing for him is not enough for him, please mama as i type right now I'm in tears I feel I have failed as a mother, what brought me here last night my baby was crying and i went to make his food before I got back my aged mother in law of like 80 years of age put her breast in my baby mouth,i lost it, I went mad,i started crying, i failed, please what can I do, please help me, some people are saying I should go to herbal,i have done that yet have not seen difference, my mum told me not to tell my husband,I'm confuse,I'm sad,I'm failed my son, please help me I'm using a different account to say this cos I'm so ashamed of myself, why is my baby not sucking, why me,I'm don't know what to do,please help me, this woman is someone that can't even help herself we help her with everything even to use the loo, at first I was like why did they bring her to a nursing mother home,i can't explain,I'm sad please just advice me, im so down since midnight
Eyah calm down please. I can imagine the aged breast in your baby's mouth, even I am traumatized by the picture. Please embrace your SMA gold. My baby took Nan1 for three weeks before she and I finally fully settled into EBF cheesy. As long as she's accepting formula please make it for her whenever she's hungry and keep your hot water ready in a flask so it doesn't take much time to make. Put him to the breast when he is not so hungry and gradually he would get the hang of it. If that doesn't happen then let him drink formula, more babies would come to suck breast

So that was how I decided to use today and celebrate my birthday in the office. I emotionally blackmailed hubby into agreeing to leave work today and go and order a cake and bring it to my office embarassed my first mistake. I already knew office people would buy me a cake but I wanted another one. He tried to bribe me by promising to transfer money to me so he wont have to buy the cake but i told him to buy the cake and transfer the change. That is how he went to buy cake and cuz the cake place didn't have a large parking space, he parked on the road and taskforce people decided to come today and remove all their number plates and asked them to go to mobile court. Thats how he was following taskforce people all morning trying to negotiate his way out of mobile court and finally had to pay them to get his plates back. Then he spent another time again fixing the plates again. half the day wasted, birthday budget gone to taskforce people's pocket, cake I did not get cry He said he was just about to pay for the cake before he was called to go check his car and he said it was a pretty cake cry cry cry. I blame it all on my village people. And they even bought me a nice pretty cake in the office unlike the ugly mess they bought last year cheesy If only i knew I wouldn't have bothered the son of man and made him waste his whole day and his money. Anyway I'm back in my birthday mood now, Sonofman still came around and brought drinks and snacks

No please. A baby should only wear one layer more than you. If she's wearing 2 clothes, that's enough. On a really cold day one cloth and sweater Nigeria is quite hot. While cold and catarrh are not pleasant for a baby, the implications of over heating are worse.
My baby has never worn more than one layer of clothing since she was born, except maybe a sweater if it's really cold. I see some parents dress constantly in three layers, and the thought of all that laundry chai. My baby sweats so much, if you are dressing her in 3 layers you might have to go through 9 clothes in one day cheesy. I'm too lazy for that kind of life biko, if she's cold that's what blankets and wool sweaters are for. Plus you can always close the window or light a candleIf you have the space o

@Kelizosuy, my hubby too likes to cover with shawl so i make sure I keep only light clothes for bed time, then all through the night we play this game where he would wake up and cover her and I would wake up and remove the cover to look like the baby kicked it off. cheesy

I'll be using my Sister's Creche. The job is very much worth the stress. I've ignored so many interviews not worth it. How long will it take if I use my hand? An hour? 2?
Does your baby accept bottles. If you have been ebf straight from breasst for 4 months then there's a huge chance that she would not easily accept to feed from a bottle. I suggest you start expressing little quantities as from tomorrow and start practising with bottle.

I think you can blend rice cripsies, shreddies or weetabix.

No sugar.

Yes they are adult-y cereals but they have only one ingredient and have no added sugar or salts

If you can give pap! These are no different in my opinion.
choi thanks I'm not a cereal person all these ones sound strange to me but if i get really desperate

Don't think Nutrend exists anymore
Thanks I know you said this before, just scared of wasting money cuz the nutribom i bought that time is still paining me. Nutrend is still very popular in the east but its dead in Lagos

Try Heinz cereals it has a tangy taste.
She used to love Heinz 4+ months but it made her poo green so we had to stop. Don't know if she wont have the same reaction with the 6 months cereals.
