Meanwhile eve in defeat Jonathan gains the world attention and now regarded as the Father of modern democracy in Africa. He has cemented himself as an accomplished statesman. He lost elections and he congratulated the winner and conceded defeat.

He has given us true democracy in Nigeria by enacting Freedom of Information and free and fair elections.... Something Obasanjo could not do in 8 years... in fact Obasanjo almost went in for a 3rd term. God bless you Jonathan

what has GEJ got to do with the robbery?.

It's not GEJ's fault obviously, he's not in charge of his security detail. But well armed Officers who are usually stationed at the Ikoyi end of the bridge, as well as a lot of other officers in various parts of Eti-osa were re-assigned temporarily to Marina area for the presidential visit, this led to the loophole which the robbers used. That area is usually one of most well policed areas in the country.

Raiders:
Nigeria police are very useless. Why did it take them more than 30 mins to response to the robbery

I'm sure they reacted, which is why the Ikeja SARS unit was scrambled to the scene (unfortunately they were too late), the ones with the President had to remain in that vicinity. It could have been a decoy move to draw away the President's security detail, protecting the President was number 1 priority to them.

Rather than the useless banter about who's to blame or #Fasholajoker, our security forces should find a way to protect the President without compromising the security of other areas in the vicinity.

As far as that tape issue is concern, its an allegation period.

Its has not been proven in the court of law so Obanikoro is a free man to take up any post now.

Going by what you wrote, it means that Buhari should be labelled a criminal for tendering a fake educational certificate. Then why is he still contesting for president since there is an allegation hanging on his neck.

He will contest because it has not been proven in the court that he tendered a fake certificate.

The Nigerian constitution should be blamed not the people implementing and interpreting it for the actions they are taking

Sigh!!! You people just don't get it. He is npt contesting for anythinh, he was nominated!

The fact that you still find a way to justify his appointment as minister of defence after listening to that tape is sickening. Nigeria might really be doomed if our youths let partisanship rule their thoughts. In saner climes, an investigation will be conducted at least. Look at the Clinton email scandal for example, nobody just waved a magic wand and swept it under a phantom carpet.

Some comments on this thread are baffling. Someone was recorded on tape blatantly using the Army to rig an election yet no constituted body took it upon themselves to investigate, the President came out to say the tape was doctored without any proof and even went ahead to nominate same guy to return to the ministry he abused. Yet what some people have to say is APC are thugs?

Seems someone/something has swapped a lot of brains for noodles in Nigeria. undecided

When a kidnapping is done, you dont stay close to where the kidnapping was done. Many of the men and women kidnapped in Nigeria has also been taken to bases outside of Nigeria to be trained, married and sold as the case may be. Did you not read the report of some towns in Niger and Chad, where BH have thriving communities, they steal cattles and take them to the town, employ people to take care of the cattles, sink boreholes for the community and recruit soldiers. These guys respect no borders and have no rules, they will take whatever they get. Long before now the NA has been saying many of the BH soldiers they captured were from Chad and Niger.

And Nigeria has been telling these countries to take action against BH that have been fleeing into their country and subsequently using it as a base to launch attacks from different axis across the border. Chadian soldiers chasing BH into Gamboru is not a big deal to me, the town practically sits astride the border, am sure many soldiers or even citizens dont know where Nigeria ends and Cameroon begins. its not as if there is a natural barrier that delineates anywhere there. if am chasing a bunch of cut-throat bastards that have just ravaged my village, and they ran from one part of town to the other, a line in the sand (which does not even exist) will not stop me from routing them as long as they are still in sight. These incursions are not more than 10-20 km, how many minutes does it take a hilux jeep to gulp such distance.

BH have been having free movement in and out of these countries and attacking across the borders from a wide expanse. Now our neighbors has seen that it is not just a Nigerian problem. Last year the wife of the camerounian VP was kidnapped and several french citizens. Ransom was paid to release them. BH got millions of dollars, about the same time the Chadian president arrange a false truce with when BH was been pounded by the NA, the fighting lulled and it gave BH time to re-group and strategize plus the money they got, they were able to come back stronger and better. So there is no way the NA army would win this battle decisively if our Neighbors don't see it also in their interest to join the fight. Its like saying the US will win the narcotics war without mexico.

Don't even talk about Cameroon, they are a major liability to Nigeria in this war.

You raised valid points which I generally agree with and I am also glad you admitted Chad chased BH into Gamborou, but I digress where you said it's not a big deal. It is! Gamborou is about 30mins from the Nigeria/Cameroon border, an incursion like that without immediate response from our forces shows why BH has been running riot in the North.

NAF is far more equipped and professional than the Military of Chad. I'm glad they've been ordered to pull back to Cameroon, let them stay there to prevent any escape for fleeing terrorists. NAF must fight and win battles within it's territory, it's good for our reputation as the big dog in Africa. We don't wan Chad doing a Rwanda on us when oil is discovered on our side of the Lake Chad basin.

Wow!!! You work for LASG and you're this dumb? No wonder the civil service is a mess. I'll help the government a bit by trying to impart a little education into your empty brain;

The term in arrears is also used in many contexts to refer to payments made at the end of a period, as distinct from in advance, which are payments made at the start of a period. For instance, rent is usually paid in advance, but mortgages in arrears (the interest for the period is due at the end of the period). Employees' salaries are usually paid in arrears.

The term Basic Salary refers to the amount of money that someone earns every year in their job, not including any extra payments they may receive (i.e. allowances)

I think you should be able to come to a reasonable conclusion on your own now, if not them I'm sorry you're a lost cause. Anyways, all this sh.it doesn't matter, bottom line is that both Governors are owing people money they worked for which is very wrong.

Of Course i dont have to insult him. Its just a matter of choice. And so i choose to. Its that simple. If you read my post, i admitted the shortcomings of the NA. Their ineptitude got us into this mess. But with we fool ourselves when we now deride them and praise the Chadians for doing nothing. Every dick and Harry now engage in deriding the military and downgrading the country. Nigeria is far above any sole individual, and as such shouldnt be ridden down like a flea. Take it or leave it, we are the architect of our present predicament, and we seem to have decided that joining the Chadians and even foreign media to belittle ourselves is the right course of action.
Its embarrasing to me that Nigerians like you, who believe you are patriotic think being patriotic is to belittle the efforts of the armed forces. And your analysis is faulty. Not only have you refused to admit that Chad has been used as a base by BH, you talk about them starting the current military actions. Chairman, i must say, you amaze me. If as you say they started it, how come they keep complaining that they are not allowed beyond where they currently are. And how dare you say they pursued BH into Nigeria without permission. God have mercy. Their sole mandate is simple, "Man the borders, do not allow BH pass through into your territories". And for your information, Biu pleaded with Chad to come rescue them.

WTH are talking about? Nigeria has always been their main base, when they kidnapped in Fotokol and other Northern cameroonian towns they immediately crossed the border into Nigeria not Chad.

In the early hours of Feb 2, 2015 Chadian soldiers pursued fleeing terrorists from Fotokol, Cameroon into Gamborou in Nigeria without prior permission from Nigeria, which was why Gen. Olukolade was scrambling to defend the action on Feb. 3rd. This action led to the so-called 6-weeks intensive effort which brought about the election postponement. Chad took this action not because the love Nigeria but because BH has been using the Gamborou-Fotokol axis to cut off a very important trade route for them.

Despite the obvious lapses of our Armed forces, as an Army brat I am still 100% in support of them.

Military operations and capturing of territories are done step wise. You move inch by inch kilometre by kilometre until the enemy is totally routed. The nigerian army is working deep in Nigerian territory outwards towards the borders of 3 different countries. Chad, Niger are fighting are the borders towards Nigeria with less ground to cover. Many of the towns liberated shared boundary with chad and Niger towns, some are even same town with some part in Nigeria and other part in chad or niger. So it is not surprising if their armies are able to make incursion into Nigeria and liberate these towns. The Nigerian army has liberated 38 towns that are bigger and more strategic. Chad has also been able to turn many of their BH sympathizers against BH.

Dude nobody is saying NA is not making progress recently. I have already commended them multiple times and I am 100% in support of our troops. However, we have to call a spade a spade, the fact that Chad and Niger are on OUR SOIL recapturing OUR TOWNS (irregardless of proximity to their border or number of towns) is a big shame to us. Nigeria should be able to defend her territorial integrity on her own without help from countries who rank amongst the 10 poorest in the world.

It's so embarrassing that UN and AU are talking about sending about 12k troops to Nigeria, when we have at least 80,000 military personnel.

Everything basically just shows how incompetent the Nigerian military is. That particular terrain is part of Nigeria, and a proper military trains its forces adaptations to all the different terrains within its border for things like this one. Just take a look at how the US, Russia, China, UK etc. are constituted.

Then when the proper insurgency started - a proactive country/military that cares about winning would've consulted Algeria, a country not far away, with a decent military that understands the terrain - and has dealt with something similar, but more brutal in the past - for assistance (I talked about that in the past). However, they didn't. Guess what they're doing now? - they're getting mercenaries from South Africa - mercenaries who don't understand the terrain and will end up getting roasted like they did during the Sierra Leonean war.

Furthermore, there has been no effort whatsoever to acquire the proper heavy weapons required for the war. And the coordination is utter poor. Without the Chadians who care more about their own national integrity and trading routes for the survival of the poor country - they'd still be perambulating with no progress whatsoever, while wasting the lives of the decent people in the military. These folks don't care about winning any war - just a bunch of incompetent twerps with primitive and utterly dumb propaganda machine.

Can you imagine a situation where Kazakhstan enters Russia to help stop Chechen rebels? or Mexico entering USA to re-capture Texan towns from KKK?

sorry to say, sirshymexx is thinking with his head in his backside. For your mind, you done make sense finish. Being objective shouldn't kill you. If you have followed the war against boko haram, maybe you would have been wise before throwing away your pride and calling a fowl uncle just because you wanna eat it. Admitted the NA were disappointing to have allowed this situation become worse. But ascribing victory to Chad is dumb. They retreated from Bags two days before it was taken by BH, you are blind to that. The SA to Deby was arrested with sophisticated weapons meant for BH, you refuse to think. Since they joined the war, they keep recapturing what they had earlier captured and you think they are the best thing to happen to you. Why not move down to Chad and become their citizen?
Even synergycom own worse.
Despite NA retaking over 38 towns back, and Chad finding it difficult to hold on to just the two they claim to have captured.

You don't need to insult people to pass your message across. The MNJTF pulled out from Baga because according to them the Nigerian Army was not serious about fighting BH and they do not want to risk the lives of their men, not surprisingly our Army was chased out by BH within 3 weeks of their departure.

The current military operations was started by Chad because BH activities are affecting their trade-routes from Cameroon (Chad is Landlocked) and they entered Nigeria without permission when they pursued a group of BH operatives from Cameroon. It's very embarrassing that Chad and Nigeria are operating within Nigeria's territory and liberating Nigerian towns no matter how small, if you are a patriotic Nigerian like you claim it should be embarrassing to you too.

Nigeria's military on paper is more powerful that the entire 15 other west African nations combined and yet we are in this mess.
