Jonathan will pay for his sins. The blood of this young man is on his hands as well as those who covertly and overtly support BH by their actions, words and inaction.

Jonathan and his cohorts in Defence HQ budget kit our boys with fairly used kevlar vests and WW2 era AK47 guns despite over $8bn spent on defence yearly. It's a miracle these boys have achieved what they have so far with the crap they've been provided with.

R.I.P. Mayowa...Thank you for your sacrifice, we will always remember. cry

I pray those rogues will at least have the decency to compensate your family for your sacrifice.

Why all this insult on APC? There was a murder by some prominent figures in the state, they were all arrested, the party has not attempted to block the judicial process (at least not publicly), so what's the fuss about? Let the Judicial process run it's course please.

On the hand, Ndume and Ali Modu Sheriff have been indicted for their involvement in BH activities, yet these men still walk free, ALAMS AND BODE GEORGE were pardoned and I'm sure Ibori's own sef dey wait. Yet APC is supposed to be the evil party.

Politics / Re: Lamido Sanusi On Buhari (2002) by gidiMonsta(m): 9:57am On Nov 11, 2014
Jarus:
Conclusion
Do I support Buhari’s decision to contest for the presidency of Nigeria? My answer is no. And I will explain.
First, I believe Buhari played a creditable role in a particular historical epoch but like Tolstoy and Marx I do not believe he can re-enact that role at will. Men do not make history exactly as they please but, as Marx wrote in the 18th Brumaire, “in circumstances directly encountered, given and transmitted from the past.” Muhammadu Buhari as a military general had more room for manoevre than he can ever hope for in Nigerian Politics.
Second, I am convinced that the situation of Nigeria and its elite today is worse than it was in 1983.Compared to the politicians who populate the PDP, ANPP and AD today, second republic politicians were angels. Buhari waged a battle against second republic politicians, but he is joining this generation. Anyone who rides a tiger ends up in its belly and one man cannot change the system from within. A number of those Buhari jailed for theft later became ministers and many of those who hold key offices in all tiers of government and the legislature were made by the very system he sought to destroy. My view is that Nigeria needs people like Buhari in politics but not to contest elections. Buhari should be in politics to develop Civil Society and strengthen the conscience of the nation. He should try to develop many Buharis who will continue to challenge the elements that have hijacked the nation.
Third, I do not think Nigerians today are ready for Buhari. Everywhere you turn you see thieves who have amassed wealth in the last four years, be they legislators, Local Government chairmen and councilors, or governors and ministers. But these are the heroes in their societies. They are the religious leaders and ethnic champions and Nigerians, especially northerners, will castigate and discredit anyone who challenges them. Unless we start by educating our people and changing their value system, people like Buhari will remain the victims of their own love for Nigeria.
Fourth, and on a lighter note, I am opposed to recycled material. In a nation of 120million people we can do better than restrict our leadership to a small group. I think Buhari, Babangida and yes Obasanjo should simply allow others try their hand instead of believing they have the monopoly of wisdom.
Having said all this let me conclude by saying that if Buhari gets a nomination he will have my vote (for what it is worth). I will vote for him not, like some have averred, because he is a northerner and a Muslim or because I think his candidacy is good for the north and Islam; I will vote for him not because I think he will make a good democrat or that he was not a dictator. I will vote for Buhari as a Nigerian for a leader who restored my pride and dignity and my belief in the motherland. I will vote for the man who made it undesirable for the “Andrews” to “check out” instead of staying to change Nigeria. I will vote for Buhari to say thank you for the world view of Buharism, a truly nationalist ideology for all Nigerians. I do not know if Buhari is still a nationalist or a closet bigot and fanatic, or if he was the spirit and not just the face of Buharism. My vote for him is not based on a divination of what he is or may be, but a celebration of what his government was and what it gave to the nation.

This conclusion here is why I opted for Ribadu instead of Buhari in 2011. In hindsight, I might have been mistaken. Buhari might be old but his economic policies (aptly called Buharism) was Nigeria's best chance to economic greatness.

3 years and tens of books later, I have changed my mind. I will vote for Buhari next year I will commit my funds, time and passion to campaign for Buhari next year, not because Nigeria will become el-dorado under him, but because he will put us back on course, it will give my generation a chance to make Nigeria great again.

Politics / Re: Before You Vote Against GEJ In 2015, Please Answer These 15 Questions. by gidiMonsta(m): 10:00pm On Nov 07, 2014
publisher:
1. Do you remember a time in Nigeria when food commodities like Beans, tomatoes, Yams and onions suddenly disappear or become scarce in our markets? How many times have you experienced this under GEJ's administration?

Beans, tomatoes, Rams,Cows and everything else coming from the North have more than doubled in price thanks to GEJ's inability to stop BH.

2. If you live or work near a railway crossing, do you or do you not see trains packed with passengers or cargo plying that route every other day? Was this the situation say 5 years ago?
This is not new. I lived in idi-oro as a kid, I saw packed trains everyday.

3. How long does it now take you to travel from Lagos to Benin down to the East?

Lagos-Ibadan used to be 1hr MAX..now we all know how long it takes! Much less Lagos-Benin. Abge park well jor

4. When was the last time you slept in a Petrol station where there was no ongoing strike action in the land?

Err..we've had at least 2 fuel scarcity periods this year alone. I know someone who got robbed while queuing to buy fuel in Ikorodu at 6am.

5. Can you swear by God's name that you do not know (or heard of) at least ONE person that benefited from GEJ's YOUWIN scheme without any connections?

I swear to the One True God, I do not anyone who won the scheme. I only heard like everybody else, on TV.

6. Are there massive construction works currently going on at Lagos, Enugu, Abuja,Kano and Port-Harcourt International airports?

There are no massive constructions, just patch patch work. Remember MM2? Now that's a massive construction.

7. How many federal universities did Nigeria have before GEJ's administration, how many do we have now?

How many federal universities are ranked in the top 100 African Universities under GEJ? It's not how many but the quality of the ones we have.

8. Has over 100 modern Almajiri schools been constructed across Northern Nigeria or not?

Kudos to GEJ for that, buh oga dem no reach 100 abeg. No exaggeration.

9. Has Nigeria fully resumed the assembling of vehicles after an almost 25year lull, and do we now have indigenous car manufacturers being patronized by government and private sector?

Kudos to GEJ for this as well.

10. Has electricity been privatized in Nigeria, and are you now noticing slight improvements in power? Do you honestly believe that new private investors in power sector can solve a 35year old rotten system in just a few months?

I have used 4 generators in the last 5years. I used them almost everyday, I have not see this improvements you guys are trolling the internet with. Everybody in Nigeria knows there's always an improved period of power supply during the year. We still haven't reached 5k MW, so where's the improvement?

11. Do you know that Manufacturers Association of Nigeria (MAN) now acknowledges that Nigeria's manufacturing capacity has grown tremendously in recent years?

I would like to see a source for this alleged 'acknowledgement'.

12. Did you know that Nollywood movies like 'Doctor Bello' and several others were funded with special media/creative industry loans provided by GEJ's government via Bank of industry?

13. Has contract been awarded and construction work started on the second Niger bridge?

So we heard, yet dem never break ground.

14. If you live around Abuja/Kaduna axis, have you noticed a newly constructed ultra-modern standard guage railway line linking Abuja and Kaduna?

Awarded during Yar'adua regime.

15. Can any government truly find easy solutions aimed at stopping multitudes of religious fanatical citizens that have embraced death and are ready to take others with them?

Yes!!! Saudi Arabia, Jordan, Oman, India, Tunisia, Algeria. None of these countries, despite their challenges with Islamists have lost any part of their territory. Our C-in-C traveled to Ouagadougou while BH was busy governing 17 LGAs in his country. Nothing can be incompetent than that.

This is not a thread for insults; these are 15 questions I'd like Nairalanders opposing GEJ to answer.

Your honest responses are appreciated.

Thank you.

GEJ is a big time failure. If you're trying to convince those of us that are not sycophants, you need to do better than these 15 nonsense 'achievements'.

Thank you.

Rubbish! I've said it Fashola is just a media man. it is those that wear the shoe that knows where it pinches. Fashola has not embarked on any major project in lagos, all he does is to plant flowers. Go to Ejigbo, Ago, ipaja and seveal settlements on Lagos mainland their roads are a mess, the few he built he did on laon. Robbers still rob in traffic at Mile 2, Oshodi, 3rd mainland etc. Eko alantic project is PPP so whats the big deal about it. Its the Minister of health that headed the Ebola fight not Fashola. We've not forgotten LASU school fees, is that what he will do if he get to the federal level (i know its impossible sha). Public water supply in Lagos has long been forgotten. BRT busus runs on federal roads and the Lagos mono rail is very very far from completion. The trouble Lagos/badagry road (which is a world bank project supervised by Lagos) is very slow that FG is warming up to take it over. So when ppl rant about Fashola this and that i like to set the records straight. How much is Lagos revenue compared to its size. Abeg make una allow us hear word.

Keep ranting while Lagos keeps growing under Fashola. The man is by far the best Administrator in Nigeria at the moment. He has succeeded in building powerful institutions, something that is integral to the development of any society.

US Never created Islami State(ISIS or ISIL), they emanated from the Taliban.
Get your facts right and not mislead peeps.
The Kurds and many other moderate are the ones the US and it's allies have always supported and are currently fighting the progression of the IS fighters.
Thanks to the US alliance area bombardment they have been able to repel IS advancement into a strategic Syrian town of Kobani.
NOTE - IS declared Caliphate spread through Iraq and Syria.
IS is a thread to the world and their fellow Muslims inclusive as Muslims have been 80% of their victims so far.

Da'esh (ISIS) is mainly made up of fighters trained by the US and British forces in Jordan about 2 years ago to topple the Assad regime. Their fighting style is strikingly similar to the US Marines and British SAS which is why they were able to completely decimate Iraq's military within a very short period.

They are actually more of a threat to muslims than any other group, the Kurds (95% muslim), Shia's (muslims), Yazidis and moderate Sunni Arabs (who they have labelled Apostates) make up 97% of their victims.

Islam for Muslims / Re: Why Do Terrorist Groups Claim To Be Muslim by gidiMonsta(m): 9:46am On Jan 06, 2014
kennylawal: Please, to the knowledgeable muslims here.
Many muslims like me always wonder why most terrorist groups in the world claim to be muslim and come from islam dominated areas. Many times it is a form of pressure, intimidation and embarassment in a multi religious society.
Imagine you are explaining to your friends that islam is peace and the loving way, and the Telivision reports some arabic speaking people shouting "Allah Akbar" while slaughtering a woman or suicide bombing. Is there something we don't know that they do. Kindly shed light on it please

Unfortunately, this is a problem that started during the third Caliphate, fueled by Arab nationalism and the west's greed for Oil. To really understand the menace, you need to study the history of the Islam after the death of the prophet. Islam is indeed a peaceful religion albeit by crisis that is more cultural than religious.
Islam for Muslims / Re: Why Do Terrorist Groups Claim To Be Muslim by gidiMonsta(m): 9:30am On Jan 06, 2014
lekkie073: because they r muslims
the Islamic religion gives room for slaughtering of human beings all in the name of those killed being infidels. while Christianity in the ancient times went on crusades (sometimes violent), the modern day Christianity have evolved to a more humanitarian religion. they prefer praying for sinners than eliminating them. but Islam which also went on violent crusades in the times past have not been able to do away with the same ideology. while some Muslims(shia) lean towards a peaceful coexistent with other religions, others (Sunnis) never relent on the use of swords for killing fellow human beings. this is evident in the so called tebiliq Muslims who put swords under their robes during prayers.

NOT SOMETIMES VIOLENT! Crusades were a series of very violent wars waged a few hundred years ago by European Christians against Jews and Muslims to establish Christiandom's Kingdom of Heaven on Earth.

OJODEL10: now, what is the significant of the crescent moon, the star and the rising sun?. note; moon worship is predominant in arab region, in fact the arab tribe that muhammed belong worship the moon-god, they kiss the kaaba, and moved round it before the birth of muhammed and is father's father as a act of worship and allah is one of the god worship in the kaaba. why will allah continue to be worship in a shrine dedicated to gods?

The Moon is used to measure months in Hijrah Calendar system used in many muslim countries and the sun used to measure time. Other tan that, the Sun, Moon and Stars have no special significance in Islam, we recognise them as creations of Allah (SWT) and we as Muslims do not worship Allah's creations.

Yobe 70 %
Borno 80%
Jigawa. 60% state apc and Pdp crisis
APC is Never a match for GEJ, the 2015 polls will shock many, Nigerians know a good leader when they see one

GEJ is no longer as popular as he was in 2011 in YorubaLand. No thanks to the mouth diarrhea of his Eastern supporters. The only way he can get that much vote is if APC presents Buhari (I love GMB but I feel his reputation is in tatters down south). Any other candidate like Tambuwal or Kwankwaso will give GEJ a run for his money. Alternatively, a young Christian Northerner backed by GMB and a Fashola as vice will floor GEJ at the polls.

GEJ needs to start distancing himself from scandals and purge his cabinet/inner circle of certain characters if he wants to retain that seat in 2015.

It didn't work, simply because it can't, you cannot prosecute something where the only person harmed is the accused.
Ps, humanity is a characteristic of humans, a person doesn't have to be gay to see beyond his/her personal opinion and search for the logical and ethical side.

@bolded: actually it does! If the scourge of homosexuality is accepted, then whats next? Acceptance of bestiality and necrophilia? There has to be a limit to what we call freedom. There's nothing like Absolute Freedom, anything that goes against the laws of nature should be rejected. As long as a man cannot procreate with another man, Homosexuality is totally unnatural.

There should be no carrot and stick approach but F-I-R-E to them so that their leaders upnorth, their children and women would understand the calamity their radicalism brought to them and this will necessitate the abolition of terrorism and religious harmony towards other PEACEFUL religion.

Firstly, the reason the Biafran war casualty is that high was because the rag tag Biafran Army used their people as weapons (women as shield and little boys to gather information from enemy camp).

The Northerners are the most affected by the Boko scourge, they've lost more people than you can imagine. I am all for total annihilation of terrorists but not at the detriment of the people we're trying to liberate in the first place.
