A little background, I applied for a course unrelated to my previous or current work experiences. It is related to my undergraduate degree but I have a 12 year study gap… I applied to 1 school, 1 course, 1 country. Basically Put all my eggs in canada’s 1 basket.

Here’s my timeline
Submission- 3rd December, 2021
Upfront medical - 22nd of December (initially wanted to wait for medical request but I got anxious and mailed e-medical sheet on 17th of January)
Medical updated to pass 18th of January,2022
Eligibility began- 25th of January,2022
BVL and PPR- 1st of April,2022

After submission, medical update and eligibility … Silence. I ordered cbsa/gcms notes in jan,it came out in February. Pre-assessment notes said “further review of fathers first”… I assumed it was review of my dads first bank statement. I panicked a little after looking at the statement again and saw some unexplained transactions with large amounts but it’s not foreign to the account. I even mailed makano (thank you for responding) as i was drafting the LOE, he thought I should just leave it, I thought about it logically and left it … anyway I left it and kept on the wait. Emailed MP,nothing much different from the notes- “eligibility undergoing further verification”. After that I locked up,middle of March I ordered another gcms notes,it’s still not out yet.
I planned a short vacation with my friends and took my mind off, only checked portal once while I was away. I noticed the “date modified” at the bottom of the page changed from 2022-01-18 (date medical passed) to 2022-03-15 I took that as my own ghost update. Lol I really don’t know if it means anything but hey anything to encourage while waiting hey.
On the 31st I emailed MP again,the person that replied was asking me for postal code, long thing. On the 1st I tried again,no reply yet. At 7:10pm as I was about to hop into the shower getting ready for Friday turn up, I saw 2 emails pop up on my laptop. I started shaking,wore boubou and ran to look for daddy (he was supposed to be home) to hold my hand to while I opened portal. Lol dramatic much?

Now my study permit application watch has ended. I wish everyone waiting the best of luck. I’m not leaving here, as this place was such a big part of my application and waiting process. Prayer yii is null and void. After page 1, read a couple more pages, you'll see people who have shared documents submitted. Even the website you want to apply on will give you answers to what they require.

Incoming timeline

1st application - may 15th (refused for insufficient funds) we had to liquidate the fixed deposit and did MBS

SECOND APPLICATION - January 16th
Ordered GCMS notes -january 17th
Medical Passed - February 3rd
Ordered another GCMS notes - 9th February
Eligibility started - don't know the date
First GCMS notes- eligibility was with held
Ordered another GCMS notes - which will drop next week
2nd GCMS notes - recommend passed
BVL/PPR - today March 17th ( I did not bother checking time)
actually I submitted my application in November and it took ircc 2 months to send my submission confirmation message.

So what do they apply for to get cash when leaving? Although that's not what I'm asking for, I'm not yet a "student" sha, just asking for PTAin general

guy my GCMS notes just landed, abeg someone should help me explain. The preassessment states that PA submitted mybankstatement and has sufficient funds.
PA has strong home ties with 4 siblings in Nigeria and work experience is relevant for the aspiring course.

Criminality: complete
Medicals: Passed
Info sharing: Complete

What I don't understand is which one is recommended passed

An easier to convert visit visa to SOWP is by flagpoling (google/search youtube for more info). It's basically going to the border, tell them you're here to flagpole, they allow you walk into US, walk back into Canada and there you tell them what you're there for. You'll need to go with your passport, spouse study permit, not sure what else. Do more research, but yes it's possible.

Duration of visa is on the visa stamp, but one cant stay more than 6 months at a given time

No I am not sure, if you read a few posts above legacy edition mentioned he was allowed to travel a few days ago even though his program starts in May, immigration officer in Canada mentioned he was rather early but still let him in. The safest choice is to repeat another medical so you don't have to go over 2 months early

Now to answer your question, you have to travel before your medical expires or you take another medical test and send to ircc and travel closer to your resumption date.
For tickets most people use ethiopian but I suggest search on sky scanner or google flights for what's convenient for you. Godspeed.

Hello. I'm not a guru, but I can say my opinion. No one can categorically say what your chances are, as the eligibility process depends on a number of things. It will depend on how you try to put your best foot forward to convince the visa officer you're a bonafide student and have the finances for your study. In line with your previous degree, you chose a course in line with that. So that's a good choice.

And to answer your question, eligibility may have started but not update on your portal, everything may be updated on the same day as decision. I've seen some timelines like that, or it starts and a week later decision, or like me it starts and months later still no decision.

Your medical has expired, it cant be "passed" again. If you want upfront medical you might have to find a way to contact either hospital to ask for a date(google for email and number). Or if you can go there in person

I was tring to book medical appointment at qlife, I realised no slots available for the month of March. My resumption is April 24. My last medical form expired February 27 although I submitted my re application on February 20. I'm yet see medical pass on my new ircc portal that's why I'm worried to do new medical exams.
