Hello everyone! Please I have a question. How do you know if/when your upfront medical is passed (or otherwise)? Do I have to email Qlife or something? |

Gbam! The letter of acceptance states the $1500 CAD is non-refundable. When you then read up on their site you see the instances in which it can be refunded. mrprolifik: |

Have you treated yourself now? I suggest you also look into that independently, and get the all-clear before re-applying. Readytowear: 1 Like |

1. Go with your phone 2. Airport has wifi. Most public places have wifi 3. Some airlines have wifi onboard (free for a duration or paid), use whatever wifi-enabled device you own. PatrickOkunima: |

How much was your school fees plus living expenses? one or 2 year course? Also, who's your sponsor to you? Does he/she have other dependants? Maybe the VO factored how much of the sponsor's earnings and other responsibilities compared to the amount needed for study and thought it modest. MJ1000: |

The difference is for vaccinated travelers (Canadians or foreign) coming from outside the US or Canada ? Was the Day 1 testing required for all travellers before now? Leyemoshood: |
Travel / Re: Canadian Student Visa Thread Part 20 by Gift212: 8:21pm On Dec 08, 2021 |
They said foreign nationals which i take as anyone that isn't a Canadian. So dem dun deny PR holders now sef hahaha. Anyway, what I understand is if you're not a Canadian and you want to come into the country you have to have been out of the prohibited countries for 14 days prior to travel, and the below scenarios are what will happen/be required when you land. Leyemoshood: |

Lmaoooo 'ello tueh tueh. Testing microphone 1, 2... I never do ielts before o please pardon my translation. It says Nigeria and the rest are still banned. For their citizens and PR holders coming from the banned countries, regardless of full vaccination or not are subject to testing and quarantine. Day 1 in government facility, if negative they get to go to their own quarantine location and then re-test on day 8. Even if it's negative, they will remain in quarantine till day 14. If positive, they remain in isolation for 10 more days (Day 18) "All other travellers, regardless of vaccination status, who have been in the countries listed above within the last 14 days, will be subject to immediate on arrival (Day 1) testing. They will also be required to complete a test on Day 8 after arrival, and quarantine for 14 days." Now to the one that concerns those of us needing to fly through countries that isn't the US Vaccinated travellers- They will take a day 1 test on arrival, and are allowed to go home to wait for the result. They may also select to quarantine you until the negative test is received. Unvaccinated travellers- They will take a Day 1 test on arrival and taken to quarantine until test is returned. Negative you go home and isolate and take a Day 8 test. If day 1 is positive, you may still get to go home and isolate or kept in quarantine for 10 additional days Vaccinated travellers who have travelled outside Canada or the United States within the past 14 days are required to take a Day 1 COVID-19 arrival test and quarantine at home until Day 1 test results are received. If the result of the Day 1 arrival test is positive, the traveller is required to isolate at home for an additional 10 days. If the result of the Day 1 arrival test is negative, the traveller is released from quarantine. Un-vacinated- If the result of the Day 1 arrival test is negative, the traveller is required to quarantine at home and take a Day 8 COVID-19 test. If the result of the Day 8 test is negative, the traveller’s quarantine ends on Day 14. If the result of the Day 8 test is positive, the traveller must isolate for an additional 10 days With these few points of mine, I hope I've been able to convince you,not confuse you that you are permitted to spend 14 days in a non-prohibited country and fly to Canada from there. But be prepared to possibly spend 14 days in quarantine. Leyemoshood: 5 Likes |

I got your question, and my answer is still yes. Airlines can deny boarding (departure point or in transit) for any number of reasons, the same way border officers can deny entry. And sometimes they can be overzealous ( Ifyonyem1: 1 Like |

Lol yes. They deny people from boarding from Nigeria sef. The person left way too early, 7 months early? That's too much. Ifyonyem1: |

There's no rule against this. The ban says exactly that, if you have been in the banned countries in the last 14 days you won't be allowed in. When India was banned for months this is what they did too, transited through another country for 14 days or more and onwards to Canada. No one will penalize you for following the rule. The ban isn't against Nigerians, it's against foreign nationals flying into canada from Nigeria with 14 days. CalcreteJB: 6 Likes |

If you have a valid visa in an old passport it remains valid even after passport expires. They do not stamp "cancelled without prejudice" on your valid visa pages. When travelling you hold both old and new passports, and present at immigration. atiteb4: 2 Likes |

Hello everyone, just to let you know Qatar Airways is currently running a Black Friday sale from now till the 28th on tickets for travel up until September 2022. So you may want to check it out. They land in Montreal and then you fly domestic to your destination (can be booked together). To book make your booking online, call their office (Nigeria or Qatar) to get the rate in naira, make payment to their naira account, send payment receipt to their email and they issue your ticket. Thought to drop this for anyone interested. Safe travels. 14 Likes |

So sorry about the delay, but can we get more information on your application? Who is your sponsor to you? Has he/she made any financial commitment to you in the past or now? Like, send you funds towards your education/pay tuition, write a letter of sponsorship...? How did you discuss home ties and finances in your SOP? Have you ordered your GCMS notes? Amakapius: |

The below quoted message is what I see at the top of the page of the My IRCC portal account. "If you have an existing IRCC account: This portal account is not connected with your IRCC account. You'll only see visitor visa, transit visa or study permit applications you create and submit via this Portal account. To view your other applications, access messages and status updates for these applications, or link paper applications, sign in to your IRCC account." Audrey1111: 1 Like 1 Share |

Can I just add that some sections may vary, depending on what you answer in the questionnaire/application. For example, my section 3 (automatically generated) is for a copy of my US visa, Section 4- National ID card. Section 5- Funds (proof). Then optional documents (Any additional documents ; my SOP,birth certificate, resume etc goes here), then final section is consent form (optional/if it applies). Aijay26: 1 Like |

I just checked qlife online, the next available is January 5th. There are multiple slots in January. Check again.Plus I don't think there's NSE anymore, but it's still advisable to do upfront medical before it's requested. Ruby22: 1 Like |
