It is not mandatory to do upfront medical, if you chose, however, you can get it done at any time while your application is under review. Or you can wait for a medical request from IRCC.
oloyede1:
I keep seeing upfront medical.

Does it mean one can do medical before starting the visa application?

The next available date I see on the iom site is 30 June and I won’t be around in July as am travelling.

I am collating my documents so I can start my application during my travels in July

What do you advise?

When is the time to do the medicals?

Hi. This their reply ehn, even though it's not a lie, they're not exactly answering your question.
Of course if you get a job that's willing to sponsor you after your program, you may get a work permit, but how easy or straightforward is that? Plus, that is different from PGWP, which is an open work permit, and not dependent on if you get a job offer or not.
As the OP said, look for another school that's eligible for pgwp.
OneLocalMan:
Thank you very much for your kind reply this is the exact reason why i came here to get more information from other people...
So someone advise i contact OCMT directly to find out if the school offer PGWP, below is their response to my question, but upon checking IRCC website, it says their school is although DLI registered but their program is not eligible for PGWP.

is it that IRCC hasn't updated their website or just some program are not eligible for PGWP while some is, according to OCMT, they said they offer paid internship to their PG International student.

can someone break this down into what OCMT is trying to say and what is on IRCC website as well, i would really appreciate.

In his form he becomes the applicant. So fill it as though he's the one filling the form, with his own details/information
Oluwanishore:
Hello everyone, please I need the help of the gurus @ frankrobnn1 and others on this forum to kindly explain something to me.
I am planning to submit my application for my study permit alongside my family( spouse( open work permit) and son( visitor visa). After filling the questionnaire, two IMM 5645 forms were generated under the doc checklist. One for me and the other for my spouse. Filling my own form is straight forward but I am confused on how to go about the one for my spouse. Should I replicate the info on my own 5645 form in his? Or choose him as the applicant and myself as the spouse with his parents and siblings info on his own form. Please help to shed more light on this as I do not want to make a mistake. Thanks in advance

Yes, there is, look again. You can choose to pay into their Nigerian account even (they will be displayed and sent in the booking email also), without going to their office.
mercy445:
Thank you so much for your response. We have been trying online but paying with a debit card in naira is not possible. And no option to reserve and pay at the office. Can u plsshedmore light I dont want to loose the one I am on.

I finally got my PPR!!!

I've always been a ghost reader on this space, but I have specially created an account because my PPR journey is unlike any I've read here. I applied for a student visa for the third time on 18 November 2021 after 2 refusals but this story doesn't start there. As you listen to my story may you remain blessed.

It starts before I got admission in 2020, you see I've always wanted to study in Canada after Uni, but I was waiting to garner 3years of experience first. But in January 2020 after working for a year, my plan changed...

P.S: I apologise for not posting this immediately I got my PPR, I read here about someone who got his passport returned without a stamp after submission so I waited till I got my passport back. I waited for almost 20weeks una sef suppose fit wait for one week na. I will see if I can do landing gist as well if una no mind.

Nobody can categorically answer this. Only visa officers know how they choose to handle applications. And as it's been said multiple times before, eligibility can have started in the background but not updated.
ninab:
I am curious about this process ,what is the reason they are not starting eligibility review for some people and how long on the average would one really have to wait for it ?

That's not true. I'm older and was sponsored by my dad. This money we're talking about, does the VO sef have it in their account?
Anyway your parents can sponsor you. You just have to show relationship, prove they can afford it, the source of the funds...
Popson09:
I just got my acceptance letter from the university of Regina to study MSc statistics and I’m 30years old. Since I finished my NYSC in 2019 I haven’t gotten any office job but got myself engaged in some petty trades which isn't yielding much money. My parents are willing to sponsor my schooling abroad but someone told me I should be my sole sponsor since I'm 30 years old that the VO won't accept sponsorship by my parents. How true is this?
What do you suggest I do?

Lol it's better to put your best foot forward, instead of submitting then scrambling to add essential documents. What are they then going to review against what you answered in the form?
Typically I'd say you should give yourself 3-4 months before resumption to submit your application.
kingxy:
Must I have my SOP and other supporting documents ready before I can submit my application or can I just fill the compulsory sections and fill up the rest later. I don't want the admission window period to close on me (Conestoga Construction mgt). I no wan go waste 100 CAD o. Any help please?

Eligibility is the main requirement used to determine if the study permit will be granted. You can search on the website to see what is done under that (review purpose of visit, funds...)
That being said if your profile eligibility hasn't begun, it doesn't exactly mean it hasn't. We have seen people whose eligibility updated the same day they got BVL and PPR
ninab:

Pls when did you submit?
Seeing this does that mean eligibility must start before ppr ?
