Henry240: The A29 is subject to US government approval. So I never expected to see them this year. My problem has been on the equipment we could receive.
Why haven't the Mi-35m and MI-17 terminator been fast-tracked? These are stuffs we could have gotten from Russian surplus stock while we wait for new equipment.
The army should have received new Tanks, IFV and much heavier equipment by now. Troops additional body armour. Also more Reva MRAPs or big-foot should have been delivered. Jonathan bought 120 Big-foot and 43 Read, Buhari should have already doubled this figure by now.
Yet we have seen nothing. bros buhari issue pass my head. The minister of defense, CDS and the other service chief's ought to have fast track the deal. afterall they have been traveling and touring different military and defence industries. buhari can't do all things alone. |

Politics › What Happens When Recession Hits Buhari, Osinbajo, INEC, Others by giles14(op): 12:15am On Nov 08, 2016 |
When recession hits the economy, it leads to inflation. When it hits INEC it leads to ‘inconclusive elections’. When it hits APC, they turn Graduate to Conductors. When it hits Davido he stops singing ’emi omo baba olowo’ and starts singing ‘gba be oshi’. When it hits P-Square they stop singing ‘chop my money’ and start singing ‘bank alert’. When it hits Nollywood stars, they stop flashing cleavages and bum and start flashing you with calls. When it hits E-Money, he stops spraying dollar with spraying machine and starts spraying Naira by hand. When it hits UAC they start making gala with sausage only at the end and none in the middle. When it hits Vice President Yemi Osinbajo he forgets mathematics and blames Jonathan for looting $15 billion arms fund though less than $10 billion was budgeted for defence under Jonathan. But when it hits President Buhari, he stops promising change and starts blaming Goodluck Jonathan.

jln115: You wont really need the Super Tucano if you're buying the JF-17, but if you're going for a dedicated COIN aircraft, IMO Nigeria should invest in the ARHLAC, it would cost half of what the Tucano costs and has a longer range and endurance, it also has more hard-points and can take-off from a 550m runway when fully loaded, max payload is also only slightly less than that of the A29! really ,pls d A29 is a machine on it's own, we need both crafts for different purposes. pls in detailed form,hw would d ARHLAC favor Nigeria in coin ops than d A29 |

Henry240: The Nigerian army requires it's own attack air wing. A dedicated air wing. This is also were i agree with @Rugged7, instead of churning daily doses of propaganda and blame, the Buhari government should have facilitated and fast tracked a quick delivery of equipment.
We all knew the dry season was coming, with the dry season hostilities between the Nigerian army and BHT would resume. This wasn't unexpected. pls wen are we going to buy d A29 ,it will b needed in dis dry season |

Politics › Re: Governor Okorochas Politics And The Ignorance Of Ndi Igbo by giles14(m): 5:00pm On Nov 06, 2016 |
Ugik: I stand to say that those calling for Gov Okorochas head boils down to the level of political ignorance among my southeast brothers which is quite alarming. suffix it to say that for Ndi igbo to attain full political recognition among the various entities that make up this polity called Nigeria is going to be a Herculean task due to 2 basic reasons: 1.considering the supposed marginalization we have been lamenting since after the Nigerian Biafra war of 1967 and the abysmal gap it has created between us and other zones in the country. This singular act which is is politically valid as politics is a game of who gets what but in the process of making demands we end up antagonizing other regions who do not share our views instead of dialoging and politicking as our representatives do,we the masses instead throw insults at them or at our fellow regional brothers thus bringing us back to square one.The likes of Ngige,Onu,Rocha's and the DSP,Ekweremadu are all fighting for our general wellbeing but like I said earlier all we do is insult them all.Must they be in the same party? Is their primary aim not to bring development to this region using their good offices?
2.The Biafra connection: Secession is recognized globally as a right of people to self rule.its also recognized in the UN Charter and I have no objections to it but I must also point out that if a referendum is conducted,I'll gladly vote against it.Many of us(not all of us)want to secede. Good and fine. how do you go about it?by throwing jabs at other regions who have reps at The Senate, the very Senate that can amend law to accommodate our proposal. isn't it funny we are yet to understand the rudiments of politics. do we achieve our aim by throwing insults at our political leaders who have the mandate of majority? or by insulting world leaders who played a role in the defeat of the secession and who will still play a role in any event that will unfold but their role will be determined by the political calculations they make based on what those who want to secede brings on the table. They helped Egypt,Libya, south Sudan and Israel.
Where do we go from here? Ndi igbo, most especially the youths must imbibe developmental politics, its high time we spread tentacles and offer an olive branch to. the regions we are at logger heads with..we must understand our differences and address it.We must support our leaders irrespective of political divide and quit all these blame games.Partisan politics and ethnic politics is not favouring us and will not.we can engage in partisan politics during elections but after elections, support our political leaders irrespective of political divide. with development politics, other regions may help foster a referendum on this issue of referendum, friendship will spread overboard. That's why those calling for Okorochas head because he wore a northern regalia are simply not in touch with reality.am not holding brief for him or APC because i dont know how well he is doing in Imo State but I love how he is spreading his political tentacles which is what Ndi Igbo needs now and not our usual politics of ethnicity where the various eastern states insult themselves. Together We can all speak with one voice.

Henry240: The Sigma, especially the Frigate is a big beautiful ship. Have you seen the Sigma Frigates built for Indonesia?"...... They are crazy beautiful.
The 190 MKII Fouladou is beautiful, however it is unlikely that we would buy ships of her class, very unlikely. Instead, the navy would go for Corvettes and Frigates. The Type 056 obviously is a contender. If we can add Sigma Frigates also, that would be nice, although i hear they are quite expensive.
For the OPV 190 MK II, it's something we can build. From the experience gained from building the Karaduwa, Andoni and Ugwu, we should naturally progress to building vessels like the Fouladou. We still do need a lot of patrol ships.
We need at least 3 more ships in the same class as the Karaduwa and Fouladou. yea d sigma is a beautiful craft but she is too lightly armed, so am say instead of buying d sigma I will just get d P18N den arm it with d sigma weapon system |
