The government hiked the price of kerosene beyond the reach of an average Nigerian. This hike makes it possible for the bunkering and the sale of adulterated kerosene to thrive.

So the abysmal level of poverty imposed on the masses by your APC makes people to seek for alternatives like deforestation and use of killer kerosene.

This was not so during gej era.

I always buy gas for my car for $2.97 per liter every two days ($47.50 full tank on a V8 Engine vehicle) except yesterday, where the price came down to $2.79 per liter. I don't know what the price would be today when I go out. Did teh government ask me to buy a V8 vehicle?

I pay nothing less than $58.00 for gas every month.

I am not a supporter of APC and will NEVER be; I am a PDP/GEJ lover.

Nigerian Businessmen/women should always learn to use Insurance companies for their businesses, abi has it not been mentioned before?

I hate it when, if rain falls and flood rushes into a house, people will start to shout "Government should come and help us", If mosquito bites another person and he/she is taken to the hospital, "Government should come and help us", if a man impregnates his wife and the woman gives birth to Triplets, "Government should come and help us".

The stunning revelation made by coach of the senior national team of Nigeria Gernot Rohr about a player agent who tried to smuggle his player into the Super Eagles squad for the World Cup in Russia didn’t come as a surprise to Owngoalnigeria.com.

Our senior editor Osas Mahawi is well aware of the whole incident which started since June last year, shortly before the Super Eagles AFCON 2019 Qualifiers tie against South Africa which was followed by the back to back World Cup 2018 Qualifiers against Cameroon.

The agent contacted Owngoalnigeria.com through me with an offer to help promote a Qatar based player. According to him six different media houses have been selected for the job.

Same day the publisher turned down the offer with a stern warning that we are not a PR agency, the said player had his story on the official website of the Nigeria Football Federation ( NFF) . He was given a full page to talk on the Super Eagles engagement where he also spoke on his desire to return back to the team and specifically on what he can offer.

Till date he remains the only player outside of the Super Eagles who have been interviewed on the official site of the NFF. That alone says it all. Furthermore I later gathered that it was a full blown racket that even involved some back room staff of the Super Eagles and also people working for the NFF.

The incident spoken about by Rohr happened when Rohr arrived Nigeria ahead of the release of his provisional list for the World Cup. The agent got to know the arrival date of the coach through a backroom staff of the team and staged the crowd that welcomed Rohr at the airport.

He was warned against making such moves by the person who contacted Owngoalnigeria.com on his behalf but he was so sure that the move will pay off. He didn’t offer Rohr money but he used the staged managed event at the airport to get close to Rohr before proposing his player.

Rohr didn’t pick the player in his squad and I guess he later became aware of the antics of the agent and broke off all communication with him. Anyway his case is just one of so many Owngoalnigeria.com will reveal in the coming days.

Ola Aina and Mikel Agu were the last two casualties as Nigeria coach Gernot Rohr settled on his final 23-man World Cup squad.

Neither player took part in the 2-1 friendly defeat to England at Wembley, where the Super Eagles recovered from a dismal first half to provide some confidence going into the tournament in Russia.

"It's Ola Aina and Mikel Agu," Rohr told KweséESPN just before the team made their way to the airport on Sunday morning to leave for the final phase of their training camp in Austria.

"They will be on standby. We go with 23 players to Austria; if there is another problem or injury like happened four years ago when Elderson was injured, they will be on standby for that."

Aina was in competition with Bryan Idowu and Elderson Echiejile for one left-back spot, while Agu had Joel Obi and John Ogun to contend with in midfield.

Idowu's performances appear to have established him as the first-choice for Rohr, while Echiejile's experience gave him an additional edge.

With Agu, he appears to have lost out to Joel Obi's ability to slot into different positions in the line-up. The former Inter Milan man can play as left-back, left midfielder, central midfielder and even left forward.

Nigeria play their last official friendly match against Czech Republic on June 6 before heading out to Russia where they will face Croatia, Iceland and Argentina in the Group stages.
