Pastor Temitope Balogun Joshua popularly known as T. B. Joshua, is dead.

Born on June 12, 1963, he was a televangelist and philanthropist.

He reportedly died in Lagos on Saturday evening shortly after concluding a programme at his church.

TB Joshua was the leader and founder of The Synagogue, Church of All Nations (SCOAN), a Christian megachurch that runs the Emmanuel TV television station from Lagos.

Ese Brume broke Chioma Ajunwa’s 25 years African women’s long jump record in the US on Saturday.

At the Chula Vista Field festival in California, she leaped 7.17 meters to break Ajunwa’s record of 7.13m set at the 1996 Atlanta Olympic Games.

Her new jump record is also the world leader in the long jump women’s event ahead of the postponed 2020 Tokyo Olympics.

Sasha Johnson – a mum-of-three – is said to be in a critical condition after being gunned down in the early hours of Sunday.

The news was announced online by Taking The Initiative.
A statement said: “It is with great sadness that we inform you that our own Sasha Johnson has sustained a gunshot wound to her head.

“She is currently hospitalised and in a critical condition. The incident happened in the early hours of this morning, following numerous death threats.

US singer Lady Gaga said in a documentary out Friday that she was raped by a music producer and became pregnant at age 19, an ordeal that eventually caused her to have a “total psychotic break.”

The New York artist had previously revealed that she was raped by an industry producer when she was starting out in the business. She said this caused post-traumatic stress disorder that she still deals with, even if she says it is now under control.

“I was 19 years old and I was working in the business and a producer said to me: ‘Take your clothes off,’” she said in the documentary “The Me You Can’t See,” which was co-created by Oprah Winfrey and Prince Harry for the Apple TV+ platform.

“I said no. And I left,” Gaga recounts.

“And they told me they were going to burn all my music and they didn’t stop asking me and then I just froze and I just… I don’t even remember,” she said in tears.

On Wednesday, the senate gave a go-ahead to the Federal government to borrow another $1.5 billion and 995 million euros from World Bank, the Export-Import Bank of Brazil, and Deutsche Bank.

The new loans which are about N1 trillion in naira terms will bring Nigeria’s total external public debts to over N13 trillion.

As at December 2020, Nigeria’s external debt was N12.71 trillion, an increase of 40.82 percent from N9.02 trillion in December 2019.

How is the external loan sourced?

Nigeria’s external debt is in four categories: agreements; multilateral, bilateral, commercial and in Promissory notes.

The multilateral category is external debt burden to international financial institutions (IFIs) such as the International Monetary Fund (IMF) and the World Bank.
