The Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) has knocked the presidential candidate of the All Progressives Congress (APC), Asiwaju Bola Tinubu, for questioning the credibility of the Bimodal Voter Accreditation System (BVAS) and Results Viewing Portal.
Recall that Tinubu, while speaking on Monday at the Chattam House, said INEC had yet to assure Nigerians of the workability of the BVAS and e-transmission of poll results.

The former Lagos State governor said: “We are still building confidence in our democratic and voting system. INEC is yet to assure us (that) during this election that electronic transmission, the technology being used for accreditation and the total vote count, is reliable, dependable and assuring in our democratic process before we introduce a complicated element of ballot counting.”

Reacting to Tinubu’s comments, the Chief Press Secretary to the Chairman of INEC, Mr Rotimi Oyekanmi wondered why the APC presidential candidate would question the technology which had been used in several polls, including the off-season governorship elections in Ekiti, Osun, and Anambra states.

He told The PUNCH that the commission has been talking about the features, strengths and advantages of BVAS since 2020.

Oyekanmi stated, ‘’The Independent National Electoral Commission has been talking about the Bimodal Voter Accreditation System, its features, strengths and advantages since 2020 when it was introduced to replace our beloved Smart Card Reader.

“At every quarterly meeting that the commission held with leaders of political parties since this BVAS was introduced, and I am talking about more than five meetings, it has always been on the agenda and discussed. My presumption is that both the national chairman and secretary of all the political parties that attend our meetings also brief their presidential candidates about the issues discussed.

‘’More importantly, we have conducted off-season governorship elections in Ekiti, Osun and Anambra states using the BVAS and all of these elections have generally been described and accepted as free, fair, credible, and inclusive by all and sundry. The governors elected have quietly been enjoying their respective tenures. Don’t forget that we also deployed it for the Federal Capital Territory area council election and it was a huge success.

‘’The BVAS has been trending on social media platforms and even foreigners visiting Nigeria for the first are asking: ‘What is this BVAS thing?’’

No Going Back
Speaking further, he dismissed speculations that INEC had dumped the usage of BVAS, stressing that there is no going back on the deployment of BVAS for the 2023 general election.

He added that, “Therefore, if at this moment in 2022, we still have a presidential candidate of one of the 18 registered political parties, saying he needs assurances on the BVAS or he doesn’t know or appreciate its relevance to the 2023 general election, then something is terribly wrong somewhere.”

A 19-year-old  man, Iredia Endurance has been arrested by the operatives of Benin Zonal Command of the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission, EFCC, for alleged fraud.

Fallen Angels are a variant of demons that originate from the Abrahamic religions, specifically Judaism and Christianity. They are well-known figures due to their appearance in the Bible and countless other folklore, stories, films, TV series, and many more that are inspired by it.




Fallen angels were initially divine messengers who faithfully served God in Heaven. However, Lucifer (also known as The Devil and Satan) (who was a high-ranking angel at the time) became unsatisfied with being the servant of God and wanted to become God himself instead. Filled with envy and rage, Lucifer incited a rebellion against God and successfully encouraged a third of the angel population to join in the rebellion.

However, God stopped the rebellion in time and banished Lucifer and the third of the angel population that rebelled with him away from His presence, with the assistance of Michael, the Archangel. They are later sent down to Earth (hence the term "fallen" and have immense power over this realm and to some extent, over the universe that is outside the boundaries of Heaven. After that, Lucifer became known as Satan whilst the angels that rebelled with him became known as demons.

After humanity was created by God, Satan and his demons roamed around the Earth endlessly to tempt humanity into committing sin in order to ultimately lead them to their own destruction. Before the Noahic Flood, a group of fallen angels who were known as the "sons of God" had sexual intercourse (in some versions, it was rape) with "the daughters of men" (human females) and produced a demonic species known as the Nephilim, who were tall, monstrous giants. God later punished the fallen angels who participated in this perverted act and chained them into the darkness of hell until Judgment day.

Meanwhile, the rest of the fallen angels served Satan as their new lord and since their powers to physically harm people have been limited by God, they take advantage over humanity's inherent sinful nature and influence them into doing their biddings which is to spread evil and suffering amongst humanity and this includes things such as lying, murder, rape, wars, sexual immorality, alcoholism, moral decay etc. Even though they have used humanity to do their biddings throughout history (often successful in doing so), they hold contempt for them and see them as nothing but pawns for their demonic agenda who are ready to be "discarded" once they are rendered useless. To some extent, fallen angels can possess humans and animals which is described in detail during Jesus's ministry and after being exorcised from a possessed being (similar to the case of the infamous demon spirit called Legion), they often wander around in "dry places" and once they find no home, they return to the being they possess. They can also cause the hosts that they possess to commit suicide as seen when demons beg Jesus to drive a herd of pigs to jump off a cliff in Matthew 8:31.

Fallen angels also occassionally confess that God is the ultimate Lord and Saviour and even beg to His Son Jesus Christ for forgiveness despite being heavily occupied in opposing Him and His followers.

They can also create natural disasters and illnesses as they still have powers over the heavens and delude humanity in their belief towards God through deception, false doctrines and propagating lies onto society and making them the "truth". Near the end of the world after the Rapture, Satan and his demons fight the final battle against Michael the Archangel in Heaven and God ultimately banishes them out of Heaven completely and restricts them onto Earth. With the aid of Satan, they also influence humanity to worship the Antichrist and using him as a vessel for their agenda, they commit the ultimate evil without limits as they realize they are running out of time before Judgment Day.

Like Satan, all of the fallen angels (including the ones who are trapped within the darkness of Hell previously) are prophesied to be punished by God for their wicked deeds and damned to burn in the Lake of Fire for eternity along with unrepetant sinners. But so far, the war between God's Angels and Fallen Angels is ongoing.
The term "fallen angel" does not actually appear in the Bible.
Although God allows sinful humans to repent, this cannot happen to fallen angels as they have lived under His presence and knew His rules for a very long time (in some faiths they even specifically choose not to repent and are tasked with tempting humanity by God until His Day of Judgement arrives).
Just like divine angels, there is belief by some that humans who die can become "angels" (fallen or otherwise) - this is not part of scripture, which specifies that angels are extensions of God and thus supernatural beings in their own right.

A 27-year-old suspected Yahoo boy, Obeta John, was on Tuesday, November 29th, arrested by men of Ogun state Police Command for allegedly k!lling his girlfriend, one Idowu Buhari, an HND1 Mass Communication student of Gateway polytechnic Saapade.

The spokesperson of the state police command, SP Abimbola Oyeyemi, who confirmed the arrest, said the suspect was arrested following a distress call received at Ode -Remo divisional headquarters, that the suspect, who resides at No 3, Mojubade compound, Eredu Ishara, locked himself and his girlfriend inside his room and started b€ating the girl and hitting her head against the wall, and all efforts made to persuade him to open the door proved abortive.
